QUACK, QUACK. Can you waddle like a duck? I'd love to have Queen Brenda explain her screen name to us! Come have a swim in the pond and let's make a big splash for tessaduck as our Queen this week.
Some ideas on how you might encourage and honour our fabulous Queen this week: Send her a Private Message, comment on the lovely cards in her gallery, post a message for her here on this thread, pick a card from her gallery to be inspired by and create a card for her. There are really “no rules”. You can play along with this challenge anytime. There is no deadline. Even if you don't know this week's Queen, come play along anyway. It's a great way to "get to know" each other!
EVERYONE is welcome to join in this challenge and give Brenda the Royal Treatment she deserves!
You can check out THIS THREAD if you need more information. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Queens are chosen for their participation on SCS in the challenges and also for commenting on other people's creations and/or other involvement here on Splitcoast.
Wonderful choice for Queen for the week - congratulations, Brenda, I LOVE your work! Also appreciate all that you do voluntarily on the Splitcoasters site. I am away on holidays at the moment but hope to get the chance to make a card in your honour over the next week.

Okay-- I think I'm honored. I'm certainly a touch confused! I stumbled on this thread while cruising the galleries, wondering who else shared my name, Brenda. I'd never participated with the Queen challenges, but I'd been truly impressed with the queen cards that showed up on the favorites threads, where I'm notifying. The crafters who were chosen as queens are clearly scs A team, and have been at it a lot longer than I have. Was I supposed to wait for notification?
and WOW! The cards that have already been posted are amazing! Gotta get going on commenting.
My username: The duck part should be obvious, if you follow college sports, particularly football. I'm a Duck, through and through-- undergrad and graduate-- University of Oregon Ducks. Tess is a bit more obscure. The 1962 (timeless, really) Newberry Award winner for Children's Literature, A Wrinkle in Time, is a favorite of mine. The tesseract in the book is a fictitious science concept, a force that can "wrinkle" time and space. Then, there's tessellations in math-- patterns repeated over a surface. I was an elementary teacher with a passion for math and science. I chose Tess as my outdoor school name (adult staff for our school's ROS for 15 years), short for tesseract and tessellations. TMI?
What now?

Congratulations Brenda! This is an honor you truly deserve! I don't have a card prepared yet but I will give it my best. Thanks for the explanation of your screen name. Very interesting too!
I was fumbling to find the "Like" button when I saw this thread!
Congratulations Brenda! All the best from this Beaver Believer to Your Royal Duckness! Hope I can find some stamping time this weekend. Now to bed then to work.
Congrats to the new queen this week, Queen tessaduck(Brenda) . She looks beautiful wearing her green and yellow gown. Congrats to you and your Oregon Ducks on their great success this year. You both are the best. Enjoy your reign, and hopefully I will get a card made.
Congratulations Brenda! You've got a great gallery which I had fun looking through. As one of the Favorite Thread "notifiers" you give up so much of your time on Sunday..it is very much appreciated! Enjoy your reign.
Whoa! I just checked Wikipedia for tesseract. It exists! It's a really cool geometry concept, and there's even a Heinlein story that predates L'Engle's. Check out the entry , with its awesome images and animations.

Oh Brenda, how exciting for you to be the Queen this week!!!! My DGD is coming to stay for the weekend, so I hope to have time later today to check out your gallery and hopefully case one of your lovely cards. Lord knows, once she gets here and we start playing Monopoly, I won't have a minute until she goes back home. And I wouldn't have it any other way Way cool how you came up with your online name!! Enjoy your reign.

Makes sense now, thanks for the back story. you know we love to learning our fellow stampers's stories.
You definitely deserve to be a queen for all the ways you add to this community! It was fun to hear your backstory on your screen name. My oldest 2 kids LOVE L'Engle and even now that they're adults they still speak of kything and my DS will make cocoa for DD when he thinks she's down! I think after 4 tries I finally have the link to your card correctly inserted in my description! Enjoy your reign my queen! Here's my CASE of your wonderful masked card: Adaptable Brenda

Brenda, I am so excited for you!!!! Loved hearing how you chose your SCS name! I've often wondered and I have almost called you "Tessa" a few times but I guess I never asked you how you chose your username! Very cool. We listened to a "Wrinkle in Time" in the car on the way to MN one year. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's kind words and I AGREE with them all!!!
Among all the other wonderful things that have been said about you I want to add that even though you have a full plate, you are never too busy to answer my countless questions! You are a gem!!! Congrats!
I can't wait to try my hand at CASEing you but.....how will I ever decide which one? (((hugs)))
Brenda, love the explanation of your name - it has been something I have wondered about. Its always fun to try and figure out the names others have used, some are more obvious than others. Bet you were a great teacher....just like your a great paper crafter. The world is a better place because you left your mark on some young minds, bless ya for that.

I didn't know what my day would hold but I am so excited that I carved out a little stamp time to honor my friend, Brenda! Last night I wrote down several cards I wanted to CASE but this one was in my head this morning so I went with this one! Maybe I will get to the others as well!
Here is my "Gently Falling" Leaves card honoring Queen Brenda. Brenda, I love all your cards that are CAS and Nature Inspired. TFS and have a great week my friend.
