Is it spring yet? Time to do some planting? Well, here there's still snow, so I'll stay inside and make cards! Hope you'll join me as we celebrate Queen Melina this week! I'm not sure if she loves to garden, but I'm sure she'll love whatever you make for her – she's mepylant! (Ok, so Pylant is her last name, but planting was the only play-on-words I could come up with!)
Some ideas on how you might encourage and honour our fabulous Queen this week: Send her a Private Message, comment on the lovely cards in her gallery, post a message for her here on this thread, pick a card from her gallery to be inspired by and create a card for her. There are really “no rules”. You can play along with this challenge anytime. There is no deadline. Even if you don't know this week's Queen, come play along anyway. It's a great way to "get to know" each other!
Trish you did good!! On the choice AND the play on names. Melina I sure do enjoy your cards AND your comments. I don't usually get to this one right away, but I will be back after I get some time to gaze at your gallery. Can't wait. I hope your week is wonderful.
Okay! I'm so excited! A little after 3pm I uploaded a card and then went to see who the Queen was! WHOA! I can't believe it's me. I got so excited I went to celebrate in my blog groups and forgot to come here first and THANK TRISH! hahahaha
I'm so honored to be named Trish. You have made my day more than you know. It's a sad time around our house this week. My 92 year old grandmother is getting ready for her home-going. Her big ole heart is so tired. She is being taken care of by Hospice. It has happened so quickly. Just last week she was up and around like always. Now, she is bed ridden and has trouble remembering who we all are. I visited with her yesterday. After she realized who I was she asked "where's your young-uns" Before I left she was doing well. I told her I loved her and she said "OH I love you too" like she has always done every since I can remember. She taught me to crochet, the joy of reading and quiet time.
She is in a lot of pain and I'm stuck between not wanting her to go and wanting her to be able to go be with her sweetheart, my papaw that died 38 years ago.
Anyway, I've been low and teary all week. I am crying as I type this.
It is a blessing to have this to enjoy Trish.
I can't wait to see the gallery and how each sweet lady that participates makes my heart beam a little bit more.
I'm so thrilled to see Melina crowned Queen this week. She is so talented and has a super gallery of cards to choose from. Melina, I hope you enjoy your week as Queen. But, I am so sorry your heart is aching now. I pray for peace for you with this situation.
CONGRATS Marina! I am so sorry for the situation you are all placed in. It's never easy to let go or see anyone in pain. I hope being named Queen this week will brighten your spirits. I don't know if I'll have time to play, but I certainly will try! Hugs and Prayers!

Congratulations, Melina, on your well-deserved crown. May all the cards that are created in your honor bring you some peace during such a hard time in your life. Will be off to check out your gallery and CASE one of your lovely cards later, but in meantime, know my prayers are with you

Congrats to you, Melina! I've never played in the queen for a day challenge so I'm off to see what I can make.
New to the thread but wanted to stop by with Congrats to Queen for the Week Melina! I browsed through your gallery and there are so many wonderful creations to choose from! It's a good time for some extra attention from your SCS Friends Prayers for you and your Grandma! I'll be back
Melina I hope your grandmother finds that wonderful peace she is os deserving of and while you WILL miss her tremendously, you have something no-one can take from you, the joyful memories made together. Let those and God's peace comfort you as you meet the days ahead.

Got my card to congratulate Melina done and in the gallery and commented so far, but I will be gone most of the weekend for one DGS's play, and another's last basketball game so my time here will be rather limited - will try to sneak in if at all possible!! Congrats again, Melina!!
