Waterfall card help

I saw the waterfall cards and I want to make one but I can't figure out how to attach or fold the strip that the pieces go on (step 7). I don't visualize well and can't see which end is stuck to the base card or how it folds and slides. Thanks for your help!

I had trouble figuring it out the first time, too, Theresa. Then I showed my niece how to do it and it got easier and easier. I'll try to describe it for you and hope it helps. I assume you are working from the SU! template and instructions.

If you look at the Waterfall Card Pattern, you have the long strip shown at the bottom (8-1/2" x 1-3/4") which you are instructed to score at 1", 1", and 1 and 3/4". You fold this strip in half at the score line nearest the middle. Your waterfall strip is now folded in half.

Take each of the Squares you created and affix each one just slightly to the left of the 1" score line, the next one to the left of the second 1" score line, and the last one slightly left of the fold itself. Then, once you have the squares glued on, the waterfall strip is attached to the card by taking the 1" x 4-1/4" strip, placing it under the folded top part of the waterfall strip (under the part with all the squares attached), but over the long bottom half of the waterfall strip. The 4-1/4" by 1" strip will be inbetween the fold, when the waterfall strip is folded in half. Then, just attach the 4-1/4" x 1" strip to the card (near the bottom or to the right depending on whether you are doing the card vertically or horizontally). Then, when you pull the bottom half of the waterfall strip, the squares will flip easily on the score lines (you may need to help a little to get it started). Hope this helps!

Thumbs up Waterfall Thanks

Sandi,
Thanks for your explanation. Between your help and another email, I now know what to do. It's a real handicap at times, not being able to visualize things like that without a lot of detail. Fortunately, stampers are always willing to patiently explain until we get it, lol.

Thank you Mary and Trish D. I was having one of those moments and struggled with the directions for attaching the square images to the waterfall strip, and the strip to the horizontal strip on the card. Thanks to the photos I finally got it! And it really is not hard - I checked out the other directions also, and now I can see that they are also great. I just needed a little extra help. TFS!
