My husband has been invited to take on an internship as part of our newest church planting adventure - something we feel very strongly that God has called us to be a part of. We will be uprooting our family to move to a different state, away from our friends and family, for this apprenticeship at our new church home. We know it will be hard work - as my husband says, "Let the crazy begin!" But we are really looking forward to serving the community in a way we have never been able to do before. We are so ready to see how God is planning to use us for His glory!
Not only will this be a huge change for ourselves and our children (13 and 4) on every level, but we have also committed to raising my husband's salary in-full for the year. This is a huge leap of faith for us.
We ask for prayers for peace of mind during the craziness that is soon to come, for an easy (or at least less chaotic) move, and that our fund raising goes off with little to no problems - we know God will provide, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about this part.
You will be in my prayers! Just remember that there is no better place to be than in the center of God's will!!! His will will never take you to where His Grace will not protect you! I pray you will have an easy transition, a fruitful ministry, and that you will be able to trust fully for His provision for your funds and all needs! Thanks for sharing and check in now and then to keep us up to date!
Amen! DH and I are so excited about our involvement in His Ministry! We won't be making the move until July in order to allow our DS to finish the school year with his current school. We've already started making a list of people to contact for fund raising - we're at about half the recommended number of names... getting there! Now I need to schedule a photographer for our family portrait and candid shots for our blog, and we need to get our blogs up and running (I'm still struggling with finding a name). Then there's the packing! Oh my!
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers - it is so wonderful to know we have love and support!
I will pray for you and your family for an easy transition and to calm your fears! Where in Clevleand will you be moving to? I live not far from Cleveland!
The church is holding services at the Cinemark in Valley View, so we'll be looking for housing somewhere within a half-hour travel time. We don't know much about the area, but truth be told, it doesn't appear to be much different from where we're currently living.
Thanks so much, all of you, for your prayers. God's doing big things! We can't wait!
We're getting ready to send out our first batch of letters to raise income for the year... we know God will provide - it's the "when" we're struggling with. It's so easy to have simple faith when you know when things are going to happen... not knowing is a bit nerve-wracking. I tend to like being in control. This part is going to drive me nuts! lol
Still, we feel very strongly that God is still in control. He is God, and He is good!
We're about to take our biggest leap of faith yet and sign the lease for our new home this weekend! The support for my husband's salary is trickling in right now, but we're confident that God wouldn't have let us come this far if it wasn't in His plans for us to continue down this path. He will provide.
Our official move-in date is the 26th - only four weeks to go! I'm up to my ears in boxes and packing materials, but at least I haven't lost my mind! LOL
Please continue to pray for my family, for an easy transition to our new home, and for the support to continue to roll in. Your prayers are very much appreciated!
Moving Day is one week away! The house is still in shambles, we ran out of boxes, and the children are trying my patience. LOL We've a few more things to take care of - buying kitchen appliances and smaller bedroom furniture and possibly some carpet remnants for the basement. Other than that, all is well!
On another note, we recently found out that our new landlady is related to the executive assistant at DH's new job! How cool is that?
Please continue to pray that more regular support comes in - we're seeing a big lag right now.
I can't thank each of you enough for all of your prayers! Things have been so crazy leading up to the move, and they don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
We found out on day one that our cell phone coverage is nil in our neighborhood. We're lucky if we get two bars when the wind blows just right, and so we spend a good majority of our time wandering the front yard, trying to find enough coverage for a five minute conversation. There is a problem with the landline, and our landlord refuses to pay the phone company to fix the issue. So, we're waiting for our new iphones to come in - which should take about another week or two. In the meantime, we grab the free WiFi on our weekly trip to the local coffee shop.
Our family is transitioning well, all things considered. DH started his new job this past Tuesday, and really enjoys working with the rest of the staff. DD has been invited to several play dates already - our little social butterfly! And DS has gotten involved with an amazing youth group! The unpacking is nearly done (except for the items in the basement and our teen's bedroom, of course). I've even found a little time for some scrapbooking!
Please continue to pray for our transition here in our new city, and for continued financial support. Your prayers are so very much appreciated!

Hello,
Our daughter and her husband are on a church plant at Kent State which is near Cleveland. They are in college ministry. The name of their church is H20. I hope that you enjoy the area as much as they do.
How can you go wrong when following GOD's word?

Shelley - How awesome! We'll definitely keep them in our prayers. You are too right... you can't go wrong when following God!
On another note, I am very happy to report that we finally have internet! It's been a crazy couple of weeks without it. I didn't mind not having to worry about FB so much, but I really missed SCS! I've got so much to catch up on!
I desperately need to update my blog, but there is so much going on I don't know where to start! Maybe a crafty post... I did just CASE some simple invites and matching thank yous for my sister-in-law's baby shower, and I whipped up some quick thank yous that we sent out to our supporters...
Now, I'm off to find a place to store all of my crafty stuff! LOL
