Default Prayer Requests being accepted!

What better way to get the help you need through prayers for your special request than to have the SCS community all joining together in prayer?

I will start out this Prayer Request by asking for prayers for Angie Zublionis' dad. Her dad is recovering from cancer and was doing great but became very ill just days before Christmas. It is believed he had an infection and blockage and is doing a little bit better. Please say a prayer that he continues on the road to recovery!

Thanks everyone so much for the prayers for my dear Daddy! He certainly wouldn't be as far as he is in his recovery without all the prayers people had said for him this past year! Prayer works without a doubt! He's awaiting some more tests but the blockage that put him back in the hospital a few days ago seems to have passed for now! He was able to be at home for Christmas and the pain is much more manageable too so that's a very good thing!

Thanks, Ang! My dad is all better. Seems he either had a virus or a reaction to his last shot.

I don't usually ask for prayer for myself but my 13yr old son and I could use some prayers. I'm not ready to share the details yet (that's cuz I don't know all the details yet) but some new health concerns have been brought to light. I can deal with anything for me, but it's a whole 'nother ball game when it's your kid. I just need prayers for peace and strength while we wait for additional info. Thanks so much. I'm happy to pray for anyone here, too.

What a wonderful idea... for a prayer thread!! Prayer is such a wonderful thing!!! I will be keeping the ones listed in my prayers...
I would like to ask for prayer for our Country... I am afraid we may be headed down a long road... also pray for our President... He really needs the leadership of Christ in all his decisions....
May God bless

I have a HUGE prayer request for several folks -

Greg - critically burned in a house fire. His body is shutting down and his own mother is praying for God to take him home.

Diane - mother died on Christmas Eve.

Lori's father - quadruple bypass today.

Sal - my FIL - collapsed and can't feel his legs. In the hospital for tests.

Thank you for your prayers!!!!!

How priviledged we all are to be able to lift all these concerns up to our Father in heaven... He is the great physician... He is the creator and sustainer of the entire universe and He is mindful of us!!! He calls us friends and desires our prayers!

I will certainly be remembering these requests.... I keep a list ongoing so I don't forget! Novell I will pray for your son and for peace and strength for you as you wait the results and answers. Nothing is harder than seeing our children in distress or pain.

Nyoka I pray for our country always.... and especially now!!! I pray God will surround our president with Christian advisers and that he himself will turn to God for direction and guidance, and ultimately give his life to Him!!!

Aunt Kimi... your list is being covered! So many needs and serious situations but God is in control and He knows the plans He has for each of us... and they are good plans... always for our good!

I ask for prayers for a little 7yo in our church, Elizabeth. She has just come through the first of two surgeries today to remove a large tumor from her adrenal gland that has wrapped itself around her spine. The surgery took all day but she came through well. They have fused a couple vertebrae and she will have to come back for more surgery in a while. Pray this will not be cancer, that no chemo will be required and for a full quick recovery!

I think this is a wonderful forum and what a blessing for all of us to be able to pray for others. I just have one request concerning it--would it be possible to include a person's name and address so cards could also be sent. I'll pray but would gladly send a card to each and every one to let them know others are praying. Just a thought.

What a priviledge we have to pray for these! I work in the food ministry our church along with Second Harvest sponsors. We need to remember all those who find them-
selves with out jobs, and no visible means of support. Thank you for your Prayers!

Hi Barb! Your idea is a good one but I think given privacy issues, it's best to request addresses from people through PM's or email, as some of us would have to ask whether people minded their address being out there in cyberspace, know what I mean? But if you feel led to send a card to someone, perhaps you can contact them either through IM or email or their blog might have a direct email me button... ask privately for the addy and I think that might be a safe way to handle it!

Thanks so much for caring enough to want to send a card to all these in need! God bless!!!

I will do my best to pray without ceasing for these people, and for the concerns that have not yet been brought to us through this forum.

Can we use this as a place to Praise Him also? Specific Praise Reports in answer to the prayer requests, possibly? IT would be in addition to Prayer Requests? OR would that be a different thread, or do you have a place for that at ODB? I'm wondering if it would bog the BLOG down too much?

Thanks for listening...and praying!

PRAISE REPORT:

I have been glued to the tv most of the day..with the News on Haiti's devestation.
It is truly flattened. They have mass graves. People are lined up for hours laying in the streets waiting for their turn at a make-shift Medical Building. (A picnic table and a tarp roof over it.)

You don't think that sounds like praise...keep reading!

On CNN, while they are showing these tragedies. Along come two LONG lines down each side of the road. The two lines were estimated to be about a mile long, men, women and childred...toddlers...walking in a line...singing God's praises, and clapping, and singing about how He will provide...and on and on...I guarantee you will cry if you see such humble people...and people joinging in the line as they are passed. Beautiful!

I Praise God for their faithfulness.

Wow, what an awesome testimony! A perfect example of how we should praise Him no matter what.....it is because of Him that we survive and make it past such tragedies!

I have a prayer request for my son. This is the first time I have used this forum, and when I found it today - I knew I had to submit my request. It is for my son. He is 22 years old and is in college (going for Doctorate in Phys. Therapy). Since away at college, he is questioning the existence of God. This is a young man, who when only 15 thought God was calling him into the ministry. He is so far in the other direction, makes me truly wonder about his salvation. Our youth and young people of today are under so much attack. Pray that God will continue to give me the words my son needs to hear, as well as the support needed.

Barbie, so glad you have asked for prayer! I have prayed for your son. I pray that the Lord will draw your son to Him, that His truth will be revealed to your son again, and that your son will hold on strong to that truth. Hearing what he does in school I am sure does not make it easy. He must hold strong to the truth that is hidden in his heart right now. I also pray that you have the right words for him and that others will come into his path to help lead him back to the truth of our Lord. Hugs and prayers, and welcome!!!

Thanks so much for your prayers. In this world today, that is what makes us strong - united by prayer.

God Bless,
Barbie

Oh Barbie I am going to be praying fervently for your son. He gave his heart to the Lord and I believe if that was real he may wander but God will remain faithful and so I'm praying He will draw him back to Himself.... that He will put a hedge of protection around him and especially the attacks on his faith... You are right... our youth are under attack in so many ways but God does not change... He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is faithful even when we are not. I'm praying that you will have words and wisdom to help your son to see the truth and hopefully lead him back to the Lord. Just remember that we see now just a little picture but God sees the bigger picture and sometimes when things look the darkest to us... that is when God breaks through and touches the wandring heart. I'll be praying!!!

Thank you so much, Grace, for lifting up our son in your prayers. I do believe our son truly gave his heart to the Lord when he was 15, and God tells us no one can snatch us from His hands. But the world sure is fighting hard, and again, God tells us "He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world." So we have the victor in our lives. My fervent prayer for our son, and all the youth today is taken from two verses (Psalms 119:37 and 101), that our youth will turn their eyes away from the things that are worthless and turn back once again to the ways of the Lord, and that their feet will be restrained from following any evil way so that they may keep His Word. Thank you again so much for your prayers.

Dear Barbie~

Thank you for having the courage to bring this up here, so we can hold you, your family up to the Lord, for His love and Reassurance. I just prayed for your son, and I will be continuing to do this. We can pray now,

Dear Lord,

I lift Barbie up to you for having the courage to tell something scary to her peers. I thank her for doing just that so that many of us can pray over this situation, that is common to so many of us, Lord. I pray that you would please hold Barbie and the rest of her family in your arms. Lord, please slow them down, and let them feel your comfort, your protection from ALL types of evil.

I lift up her son, Lord, so many members of our youth are looking at things that the world offers. And, yet Lord, so many are brought to you during these college years through organizations like who only exist to serve you, and build your Kingdom. Lord, her son gave his life to you when he was 15.

His mother is clinging to "two verses (Psalms 119:37 and 101), that our youth will turn their eyes away from the things that are worthless and turn back once again to the ways of the Lord, and that their feet will be restrained from following any evil way so that they may keep His Word."

Lord, I pray that you will please restrain his feet from following anything that could lead to evil. Lord, please pull him close to you, please let him feel your overwhelming love for him, and let those around him, remind him of all of the wonderful things he can do to Walk Along Side You, and still be "cool" in the words of our youth. Lord, I believe in your words. They are ALL true. There is not swaying on what you mean in your Word.

Lord, I would like to remind Barbie and all of her family members of Psalm 138:3, "When I pray, You answer me. You encourage me by giving me the strength I need." I pray that the students of colleges and universities will hear and see this psalm in their music, in their art and read your word in their Bibles.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for letting us come to you with all of our different needs. We know Lord, that you are the One who is capable of all things. Please touch his heart in a way that reminds Him that you love him now, not just in the past. And, Lord, please remind him to confess any sins that he may be carrying. For you offer forgiveness, and you separate our sins as far as the east is from the west...Thank you for that Lord. Lord, we thank you for being the solution to all of our problems. We thank you for touching this family with your precious love.

For we know You alone are able, I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, My Lord and Saviour.

He IS Able,
Traci S.

Barbie, I would like to suggest that you contact Campus Crusade for Christ. They are on almost every campus in America and around the world. They offer a lot to the students to draw them closer to Him and His Word, and they have fun activities, and they do participate in different ways to help their community.I know the headquarters is somewhere in Orlando. Or you could check with the school, I just think you may not want to take a chance on calling the college without his awareness. Just an idea, sweetie.

Thank you so much, Traci, for your prayers. I know that God is watching over our son. And I know that he will come back to the Lord, I just pray sooner than later. I will check into Campus Crusade for Christ. That would be awesome. After I find out what is available on the campus he is attending, we will discuss with him. Thanks, again, for your prayers. We certainly appreciate it.

God Bless,
Barbie

Smile One more thing...

Hello again, Barbie~

I have just one thought to remind each of you for each family member---

"As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I willl never leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1: 5 NIV

I don't mean to talk down with you. There are so many details that showed themselves to me, when He unsealed my eyes. When Moses took the nearly
2million women, men, and children out of Egypt, and walked through the desert for forty years. Not one person's clothes wore outThat is Amazing! If anyone had shoes, they never wore them out. I wear my shoes out, and I stay at home! God provided manna (food) and liquid for every person every day. As well as direction as to where they should go. Think about how well he planned that trip out. Now realize, if you haven't already...how He has planned your life, your son's life and anyone else in your life.

Nehemiah really goes into detail on all of the things that were provided for the Hebrews. (I think they were still called Hebrews. I apologize if I am wrong.) It was wonderful when I reread Nehemiah looking or these things...they just seem to pop out of the list. I was raised Jewish, and I heard and read the story of the Exodus probably a minimum of 2OO times.
I saw it all differently in Nehemiah. I hope you will reread it. It is wonderful.

He IS Able,
Traci S.

p.s. It may be a good story to tell your son, when you talk on the phone. It is quick...and He may see How The Lord is right there with him, putting certain things in His life that he needs.

Hi, Traci, I know the story well. I too cannot imagine my shoes or clothes never wearing out, and for 40 years no less! The money I would save I have discussed the story numerous times with my MIL saying, how on earth could the Israelites have complained so much, when they saw and witnessed the Glory of the Lord firsthand. So my comfort is "they complained too" right smack dab in the midst of His Glory. Some returned to God's will, while others did not. God called them a "stiff-necked" people, yet when Moses prayed for God to be merciful to them and give them another chance rather than destroying them, God listened. Hence, I know my prayers are being heard, but He will answer in His timing and not in mine. Thank you, thank you so much for your prayers. This site is awesome, and it is wonderful to have fellow "sisters in Christ" all praying together for those in need and for the Glory of God. Your words of encouragement have been much appreciated.

God Bless,
Barbie
