A bit of snow, and not much more! I'm in Blaine, about 20 miles North of Minneapolis...I've just come in from outside trying to chip the ice off the driveway! Our driveway is on the wrong side of the road & doesn't get much sun at all! I'm always worried that someone is going to fall on the ice, so I'm always trying to keep it clean. With elderly relatives coming on Monday, I'd hate to see them fall! Actually anyone fall! 2 years ago I broke my wrist out there, last year...bruised the tailbone! Not fun! We had a nice sheet of ice come down on Thursday! I guess that's all just part of winter!

What fun to see all of the Stamping Minnesotans! I am from the SE tip of MN. Winona. Quite a group from the Twin Cities area. I think I saw one from Rushford. We have quite an active group here if you are interested. I have never met an unfriendly stamper!

I actually did throw out some salt! Want to try and get rid of the ice before Mom & Dad come on Christmas day. It's not working too well! Hopefully it will be warm tomorrow & melt it all! Ha! Yes, I love winter!

Merry Christmas, everyone! A bit of snow is still on the ground here, although yesterday was a very warm Dec day. Going to my cousin's in a couple hours - there will be 12 children from ages 1.5 to 15 there, plus 9 adults.

Hoping you are will enjoy your day.

Wink Hi

Hi and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Just got back from a large family gathering in Pine City MN. Had a good time and now need to get to work on the birthday cards. I am so excited to see all the ideas everyone is going to be sending along and have to wait awhile for my turn but am excited. This will for sure be the best birthday ever.

Rita, I agree with you. Being a transplant to Stillwater I am enjoying all the fun here as well. It is a great time just wandering through town on a nice summer day. It is a little short on parking places but otherwise fun. Sometimes my husband and I just go to Starbucks downtown have coffee sit and read/and watch people. It is particularly relaxing and fun on a snowy afternoon.

Happy New Year to all of you,
Carol

Hi Vikki:

I look familiar to you I am sure! I have a huge connection to Minnesota. He husband was born and raised in Hibbing. His two sisters and mother still live there. It seems like I have heard their family talk about Hinckey. My neice that lives here in Colorado is back there visiting right now. Oh by the way, we got a digital camera for Christmas, I will be uploading pictures of our Christmas tree for you to see sometime soon.

Wow!! I somehow missed this thread too. So hi all! My name is Tana and I currently live near Mankato. I have lived in MN all my life (except the 6 months I spent in Fargo). I grew up near Garrison went to High School in Brainerd and College in Moorhead. I've also lived in Jackson (way south) , Fairmont and Lake Crystal. We have finally landed here and plan to stay (I Think). I've been a SU! demo over a year now and really like it. I also have tons of family all over this state so very few areas have ot been traveled. So hi all and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Hi Jean, I live in Chanhassen, MN. I have been stamping for, wow, I don't even remember. At least 12 years. I think it was sometime in December of 1994. I don't know why I didn't see this post sooner. It is definately past 12/15 but if you would allow, I would love to sign up. My birthday is 9/26. Do you take late comers? Let me know and I will send you all my details. I know I am late so I completely understand if you say no.
Thanks, Wendy

I missed this thread, too! I'm Lisa from St. Cloud... I've lived here for about 20 years and would probably have to be dragged out of the state to live anywhere else!

I'm not a demonstrator, but have been stamping for a little over two years, using mostly SU! products. From the looks of others' locations, though, I've probably (unknowingly) run into some of you at Crafts Direct!

I cracked up when I saw this, because that is my number 1 store that hubby has to take me too right away! (Even before we go see my brother)

A question to all you Minnesota people - who's old enough to remember Axel on TV? I think the show was Axel's Treehouse and included Carmen the Nurse. He recorded a version of "The Night Before Christmas" with his Scandinavian accent that was just hilarious. Our family had a '45' record of it (yeah - that's OLD) and we listened to it every Christmas. As I was driving home Christmas everning, I heard it played on KOOL 108 - it just gave me a thrill to hear it again. The flip side was Clancy and Willie in a skit about Rudolph's nose being stolen. Ahhh, the memories

I'm there with you. I remember Clancy and Carmen. Also, Roundhouse Rodney and Casey Jones. The big thrill for my birthday was having my name on Casey's birthday list at the end of the show. I only lived 1 block from school so would rush home everyday and eat my lunch with Casey then dash back to school. Oh the memories. I also used to think that Carmen was such a pretty nurse.

I used to live one block from grade school too (in Bloomington)!! I did come home for lunch, but I don't remember if I watched Casey and Roundhouse then...but I must have if that's when it was on, because I remember the list of birthdays at the end too

Jean - my brother still has the '45', but he recorded it to tape so it wouldn't get worn out. We kept trying to get everyone to be quiet and listen to it every Christmas, but I guess the younger cousins just weren't into it, so we gave up. That's why it was so cool to hear it on the radio

Channel 2 ran a show the other night about 'Lost Minnesota' that included the story of Clellen Card becoming Axel and how popular he was. He died in 1966 and Carmen told the kids that Axel wouldn't be back - not that he'd died

Yes, I will see about getting a tape for her. I'll see my brother tomorrow - he has the original. I'm 53, so I do remember shows from the 50s and early 60s, although one of my favorites - 'The Adventures of Superman' originally was on before I was born and was repeated when I was old enough to watch it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

We have a small coating her in the Twin Cities too - nice not to see the brown lawns anymore. Yesterday before the snow came I thought for sure I was going to have to get out the lawn mower as seemed that were tinges of green in the grass (no, I wasn't celebrating the New Year early) and small water puddles everywhere. Now if we could just keep the snow white for more than a day! Happy New Year everyone.

Snow... What snow??? J/K We are still digging and blowing we got about 10 inches and we were only expecting rain -2. Very nice suprise. About time it starts looking like winter around here. Only problem was driving from Stacy to Mankato in the white out along 169 yesterday afternoon. Made it safe though can't ask for more.

Are snow is pretty much gone, it rained and rained the other day. So I too was wondering if I was going to have to get the lawn mower out! LOL I do have patches of green on our lawn!
