IFC54 10-12-09The Wizard of Oz
IFC54 10-12-09The Wizard of Oz
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is one of America's greatest and best-loved home grown fairytales. The first totally American fantasy for children, it is one of the most-read children's books . . . and despite its many particularly American attributes, including a wizard from Omaha, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has universal appeal. It has become almost literally a national institution, a cultural icon recognized by millions.
Looking back at my childhood not many holidays seasons past with out the annual watching of The Wizard of Oz. I introduced it to my children and, it is still a family favorite.
My challenge to you is to create a layout inspired by something from the movie. If not the amazing colors used ( ruby slippers, yellow brick road), the creative songs( Over the rainbow, Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead, The Lollipop Guild), the many characters (Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Wicked Witch, Munchkins, Oz), the set design etc.
One of my favorites from the movie are the Munchkins, of course I chose this for my layout.
munchkins, Lollipop Guild here

Upload to gallery using keywords IFC54 here
I also added thumbnails below for inspiration.

Morning Ladies! Hope you have fun with today's challenge. If you haven't seen the movie The Wizard of Oz. grab a copy, curl up with some one special and enjoy. It's a delightful classic. It will bring the kid out in you. There's been many books, plays and movies based on the original book. If you've heard of or seen Wicked the Broadway musical, another great one my family loves is the Wiz an adaptation featuring Michael Jackson and Dianna Ross.
Sorry for rambling, I can go on and on. Most of all have fun!!!!

Tamcam,
What an awesome idea for a scrapbook inspiration! I absolutely LOVE your page.
Unfortunately, I rarely get time to scrapbook during the school year...but you can bet that I will remember this idea for my next opportunity to do so!
