Photo Challenge #158 'Vibrant colours'. We're back! There has been a hiatus of over two months, but now we will be doing photo challenges twice a month again. This week, let's see if we can find some strong vibrant colours.

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at any time!
~HAVE FUN!

My photos were taken this past week as my neighbour and I went for our early morning walk. When I saw the sun was not quite up and there were clouds in the sky, I quickly ran back into the house to grab my camera. I'm really glad I did!

I love the way you can just see the boats and jetty silhouetted. Gosh, your early walk must be early.
We're up in the North tomorrow, I'll certainly keep my eyes open up there.
But it's been such a grey summer here I can see I might have to stage a shot rather than trust to finding something!

We go out at 6:15 every morning, but not today, as I woke at 12:30 after only 1 1/2 hours of sleep and didn't get back to sleep again until after 4, so I left a note on my door for Catherine not to wake me! Once it cools down and the sun comes up later, we will go back to walking at 7.

O.K. I have a few more photos.....just to give you a different slant on the challenge.
1. The vibrant yellow of a brown eyed Susan (my garden)
2. The deep red of a geranium (my gaarden
3. The vibrant fuschia of a gladiolus in my S.I.L.'s garden

I have some vibrant flowers too, in a window box in a pub where we had lunch with my older half-brother, and my nephew who was over from America.
Also some VERY vibrant canoe paddles.
And a clock tower up in Derry, in Northern Ireland- it was a fabulous sunshine day which just makes everything look more saturated.

Great shots Sabrina. I see you finally got a bit of sunshine! And we finally got some rain!

CherylAnn, your photos are wonderful. The middle one is stunning....is that a kind of sunflower? What a vibrant orange colour!
thwacker, your baby is adorable! How old is she? I have a grandson who was born May 14, so he's just turned 3 months.

Thank you! She is 6 weeks, born on July 4th.

CherylAnn, those are fabulous. I've always wanted to grow the non-yellow sunflowers but DH is a bit of a traditionalist. And the goldfinch adds such a splash of extra colour, too.
What a sweet little baby and a darling hat. Did you crochet that yourself?

thwacker 08-20-2012 05:13 AM

Thank you. No, a friend did it for me.
