What a fun challenge! And what a great picture Angie! :) Time to put my thinking cap on. :)

Proud Mom 01-26-2009 05:54 AM

Great shot, Angie - love the angle you chose - and those colors are so vibrant!

Can't wait to give this challenge a shot....pun intended lol

yellowrose46 01-26-2009 06:17 AM

Angie, I love how you caught the reflection of the lights on the shiny red apples!

c-mouse 01-26-2009 07:35 AM

Good job Miss Angie-----nice photo----
Its snowing here---would a picture of angst because we are in school work????????? There isn't enough snow to call school off but it is bitter cold for the 4th straight day....not to get above 20 today and that is cold cold cold.

Love them apples! The angle is wonderful!

Here are my "a"s. Our apricot tree is very confused and has green leaves and buds coming out. The peach tree is starting too, but only apricot starts with an "a". So does "asleep", which is what my dd and dog are.

MariLynn 01-26-2009 11:28 AM

Angie, I love your apples. I like the patterns and colors.
Lisa, I love your asleep photo. It is so sweet.

scrown8301 01-26-2009 01:29 PM

Lisa great photos! Your asleep picture is absolutely adorable!

Thanks! You can move here to NC and at the threat of one flurry, they're out putting salt on the roads at 48 degrees outside! Now joy of all joys when they did this last week is actually snowed!!! And I'm sure you could probably come up with a way to photograph angst!:)

My A is
A is for Antique's.
I collect Antique's. Antique glass, I'm getting quite the collection. I took shots of my two favorite peices. Both given to me by my mom. One is an antique cracked glass pitcher. The other is a purple vase. The purple vase actually is different in various lights. In some lights it looks purple, in other lights it is almost brown. I love it. :)
The other A is for Antique picture I have is of my antique Treadle Sewing Machine made back in 1904. :) My mom gave that to me too. It was actually a gift to her from my dad but when they got divorced my mom gave it to me. I have alot more antiques but these are my favorites.

scrown8301 01-26-2009 01:37 PM

My first thought was A is for Adoption. But seeing as how DH and I are in the beginning stages of our adoption there isn't really a way to photograph that. ;)

Duckwaddlequack 01-26-2009 03:08 PM

Lisa those are great pics of the tree! Love the close up of the bud! Can't wait to see the blooms on it! You'll have to share for sure. :) And that is a darling capture of your DD and dog. Too sweet!

How exciting and congrats! You'll have to keep us posted! :) I love your glass. I just got some great old antique glass dishes from my gram over Christmas. I'll have to show you mine. :) Neat angle on the sewing machine!

Proud Mom 01-27-2009 06:12 AM

LIsa - amazing shots! Love the sleeping picture - you zoomed in just the right amount to fill the shot - so effective!

Sharon, love the way you captured that antique glass! What a fun collection! Your sewing machine cabinet photo brought back lots of warm memories - my Grandma had one just like that! God's blessings to you as you travel the road to adoption!

A is for Altitude and Attitude!

My first "A" is for Altitude (and AMAZING!)

This was taken yesterday at the Torrey Pines Preserve.

And with just a slight spelling change, my second photo caption is: ATTITUDE

(THIS is what I get whenever I pull out my camera........TEENAGERS.......sheesh!);)

weederberries 01-27-2009 09:05 AM

Pam, I was planning an attitude photo as well...except mine is from toddlers.

It will be really funny to create a scrapbook with all of his different "faces" and label them with funny stuff. "This was the day you got an A on your science test." "Here you are, so proud of getting your driver's license." "This is my favorite. The day you heard that you were accepted to your 1st choice college." Ha!

scrown8301 01-27-2009 11:28 AM

Pam, I love your Altitude photo! Breathtaking! And the Attitude photo cracks me up. Reminds me of my DD. She is constanting doing that when I pull out my camera. Too funny!

My A pictures were hard because it was hard for me to think of what starts with A. Then it all came clear to me. My first photo is titled AMERICA. I had fun digitally editing the two photos to make the American Bald Eagle on the American Flag. The other two photos show what they looked like before I merged them.

NerdyBeth 01-28-2009 01:44 PM

Angie: Love the apple shot, great angle (we have the same produce stickers on ours, too!)

Lisa: The middle shot is my fav. Very sharp. I can see this one framed and hanging on a wall.

Sharon: The third is my fav. I love the way the details on the drawers are really highlighted.

Pam: Your Altitude shot is giving me vertigo! The plants in the foreground really help to convey the height. The attitude one is perfect, too.

Hannah: Love the third shot. That smile is perfect. I can hear her laughing. And I love the missing tooth, too.

MariLynn: Cool composite. But that picture of the bald eagle is stunning.

I hope I can continue to join in these challenges. It's time I step up my photography skills a bit.

Great photos everyone! I love seeing how creative the photos are!

Here is my A...my 15 yr old son Alexander(not Alex :) ). Its snowing out right now and so I snapped some shots of him as he was coming up the driveway from his school bus.

Proud Mom 01-29-2009 05:57 AM

Hannah - what a fun idea -your daughter is beautiful! Love the 2nd shot especially -that close up really makes her sparkle!

MariLynn - You are so lucky to have seen an eagle and captured it on film! Love the way the light catches the flag in that 3rd photo!

Lisa - great angles! That and the red really draws the eye to your son!

girlzclubstampers 01-29-2009 07:43 AM

Marilynn - those photos are great!! How did you do that - where you edited the eagle onto the other photo?

girlzclubstampers 01-29-2009 07:44 AM

Oh, and by the way, Pam - that's not my daughter - she's my 7-year-old little sister!!! I've got three sisters and a brother, and she's the youngest (and most fun to take pictures of!). :-)

scrown8301 01-29-2009 08:09 AM

Lisa, love the shot of your ds. Too fun!

Hannah, Abby is so cute! I can see what you like taking photos of her. :) I love the 3rd shot. She looks so happy!

Marilyn, what gorgeous photos! That bald eagle one is stunning! Love the two photos merged!

Lisa, what great photos of your DS. Love the angle on the 3rd one!

:) I am loving seeing all your photos ladies! I love these challenges! :D

MariLynn 01-29-2009 08:31 AM

The only photo program that I use is Picasa. I did the collage option and it merged it. I wish I had different software that would have allowed me more control over the merging. I would have liked the eagle to be a little darker.

girlzclubstampers 01-29-2009 04:34 PM

Thank you, Mari Lynne!! I have Picasa, too - I might try that!

I am enjoying everyone's pictures. They are so different this week.

While walking around Balboa Park in San Diego yesterday I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the modern art and the beautiful architecture. Here are my pics. Enjoy.

Quiltnstamper 01-30-2009 02:37 PM

MariLynn - I love how you merged your photos. That is something I have never tried.

NerdyBeth 01-30-2009 03:18 PM

Oh, sure take some awesome pictures while you were just "walking around Balboa park"...argh! I'm so jealous! I love that park!

Awesome pictures! And you're right, the contrast is striking.

I love taking my camera to Balboa Park and just hanging out for the day. We should try to meet there sometime.

Great photos. Love the modern art in front of the old building.

scrown8301 01-30-2009 06:46 PM

Joyce, what striking pictures! The first one is my fav. Great job!

Hey - good to meet a fellow San Diegan! Love those shots of Balboa Park - especially the contrast with the new, modern sculpture and the old domed roof. And I LOVE the sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle- isn't her work amazing?
