Default Photo Challenge #9 - Seeing Patterns & Shapes! {11-16-08}

Howdy ya'll! This week's challenge is to look for neat patterns and/or unique shapes within your surroundings! And let's have a restriction with it - no pictures that focus on the sky or water as the main subject! Good luck!

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ You can jump in and start any of the photo challenges at anytime..
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

The zigzag of the stairs surrounded with all the square window openings of this parking garage caught my eye while we were downtown. And I just thought the top of it was cool!

That is an interesting pattern, Angie. I'll have to think on this one.........I did a lot of snow photography yesterday. We just had our first snow storm of the season and it's beautiful! But the driving wasn't great!

Angie, this is more my speed (I admit to not liking the blurry challenge since some of my more frustrating pictures are blurry).

I LOVE that building. Especially since it has more than one pattern to it.

Angie, this is a great challenge. Maybe I can find some time this week to get out and find some patterns.

Ooh - this was fun! I'm going to look outside to find some more later. Thanks, Angie!!

The first picture is some wrapping paper - it's an excellent subject!

The second is some beaded trim on the lamp in my bedroom. Thought it was cute!

Cool patterns so far! I had to drive to the city today and drove through farm country. Got some interesting patterns and shapes. The first one is a powerline and a hay bale. In the second one I really enjoyed the pattern of the fence beside the evergreen trees.

Those are both very neat! Love the bead trim is so crisp up close and fades out of focus towards the back.

These style powerline towers have always reminded me of giant headless robots. Love how you can see the rest of them in the horizon!

The angle of the fence is really neat! And I'm coming to play in your snow!!!!

That road is really pretty! I wish we had your snow!! I was hoping for some more by Thanksgiving. All of it got washed away in the rain we've been having for the past TWO WEEKS!!!

I hadn't seen yellowrose46's photo of the powerline before I took mine. I guess we were just thinking alike I used the computer to do it in sepia. I'm not sure which one I like of the powerlines the best. The other photo is of a wall at the highschool where that my girls attend. I was waiting to pick them up from school and I left my car running and with camera in hand went to take this photo. I am sure the other parents were thinking I had lost my mind.

I love these shots of the powerline! I think I prefer the sepia......I don't know, there just seems to be something about sepia that really draws me. Love the wall at the highschool too. I really like your perspective there.

GREAT photo's everyone.....its interesting to see how everyone takes on a new perspective in their photo's with these challenges. I know I do!!

Thanks for sharing!!

____

In my running around today taking photo's, I passed a park in Bay City that had this interesting monument ((I guess you'd call it that??)). I walked around looking to see if they had anything written or a dedication plaque or something that would give me a hint or clue to what or why it was there. Anyway, I thought it fit this challenge.

Thanks for looking!!

Here are a few of my favorite patterns and shapes from my files. One of these days I'll get out and get to play with my camera. Until then I keep going back to what I've already done. Hope that's ok...

I didn't think I was going to get anything interesting for this challenge, but everyone with their great pics inspired me to go out in the cold and look for something. I know I could have set something up inside but no challenge in that.

...and I don't know if I should share this or not but I got a good laugh from it this morning so here goes..kind of risque so don't peek if you are easily offended but I thought of this challenge as soon as I saw it LOL http://failblog.org/ 2nd pic down

Naturally I had to look!! Very funny.

Audrey you naughty girl

Joann, I do like that picture but it looks so cold

Here is another one from me. I took this this morning, intending the flag to be blurry and go in the blurry challenge. But when I want it to blur, it doesn't and when I don't, it does. So, I switched gears and went to Plan B...

What better subject than a piano? I love the shapes of the keys. Of course they're in a pattern, too!

WOW! All of these photos are great! I took a picture of the frost on my window this morning but I don't think it will work for this one. I'm going on a road trip tomorrow and I'm taking my camera so maybe I'll find something!
