My first photo above is taken in front of a Scottish pub and restaurant in my home town of Fergus. We have a wood carver in our area, who has carved some wonderful items on tree stumps. The second photo is one I took last summer in a little town called Stanhope. We just happened upon this on our way to a friend's cottage. The photos in this post were taken on Sunday in Elora a town about 3 miles from our town.. The first one was the first wood carving I had seen by this artist and it was created on the front lawn of a house that my son-in-law used to live in, and the second was a metal sculpture with my grandson posing to show how tall it was (it's called 'Tall Man'.

Cool idea. I'll have to think about this. My half-sis is larger than life emotionally, for sure, but she's not around to pose - and I don't think I'd ask her!
Those sculptures are amazing. My favourite is the piper. My granddad was Scottish, though he lived most of his adult life in Canada.

Cool view of the crawler seat! I don't guess the butterfly got any nectar out of that 'buttercup'!

Our county fair has been going on this week. It is the largest fair in the state even though we are a little country county. The reason being is we have the most livestock at our fair. This year alone we had 1,598 4H and FFA kids! 2,500 head of livestock...and that includes 9 LLAMAS!!! (a little over 800 of that number were hogs!)

I took the kids yesterday as my oldest shows one of the 9 llamas. Here is a picture of the ride my little kids are on ( they were in the pink dragon). You can tell how large it is compared to the people waiting for their kids. Next you have my littlest on the world's tallest animal, the giraffe. Of course it isn't as huge here as it is in real life but it sure was big to her. The last picture is of my oldest, the llama she shows and the trophy she won for 1st place in Obstacle. It is her largest trophy yet!

Wow, there are some cool shots there. I still haven't found anything, after two days of keeping my eyes and my mind open. I think I'll have to ask DH to pose, seeing as he's something of a drama queen - in a fun way.
My favourites are the crawler seat, the kodomo foot and the pink dragon ride. Congratulations to your daughter on her big win, Amber.

Great photos everyone, I sure like looking to see what you all come up with for the challenge.

These are bigger than life turbine windmills that dot the landscape near Ubly Michigan where my husband's aunt lives.
The photo with the tractor and round bails of hay give you a perspective of their massive size.
As you can you tell its harvest time in Michigan!

Everyone has posted such fantastic photos!
Becca, I love the way the sun catches all the facets of the sphere.
Armadillo, the dragon pics are wonderful, especially the one of the feet~! So cool!
cletracloversgirl, that did look like an awfully big spider. I wouldn't want to be sitting close to it!
Amber, I love your fair photos.....always so colorful! Congratulations to you DD for her first place trophy!
Roxie, I love seeing the wind turbines. We have fields of them about 25 miles north of here, and I just love driving by!

Got lucky this morning - it was bright and sunny so we went out to the Botanic Gardens after breakfast, and there was a small sculpture exhibition in the arboretum. There's always a bigger Sculpture in Context exhibition in October all over the garden, so it was a surprise to find this one.
The sunflowers in the kitchen garden were so tall - much taller than the ones in the maze, which can't have been more than about three feet!

I was in town today, and spotted this giant suitcase. When you think that the maximum limit in Europe without being overweight is 20 kg per case (44lb) and 15 with some airlines, and I think now all airlines charge a fee for any hold luugage and only let cabin luggage go free, it's hard to imagine many people using a case this size. I do remember a visiting friend from GA had one a similar size - and it wouldn't even fit in the trunk of the car we had at the time! I had to wait for a passer-by to try to give a sense of scale.
