Default Photo Challenge #78 ~What's in Your Kitchen {4-12-10}

I offered to set a couple of challenges while Angie is with her folks. You could remember her dad who is going through surgery, and the family.

The Cook in my user name comes from the fact that I used to work as a cook. In a lunchtime restaurant for a year, but mostly for private families, both live-in in the UK and on a part-time basis over here. So I've seen a lot of kitchens over the years. I'd like to see something from your kitchen - the kitchen itself, a useful gadget, whatever...
I've taken photos of an old (sadly it's got woodworm at this stage) Springerle rolling pin which I loved using as a child.
And a new Joseph Joseph Citrus reamer, which I love. I couldn't be bothered getting the juicer out for just half a lemon or lime, so this is great.
And, since I had time to bake on Saturday before we went to a local garden which didn't open till ten, a slice of cake .
I look forward to seeing what you can show me from your kitchen.

Photo Challenge Rules:

~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

Great challenge, Sabrina! I love that little rolling pin, looks like it has a lot of character. I'll take a look around my kitchen...right now it has a sink full of dishes waiting to be cleaned!

I used to have a Springerle rolling pin back in the sixties but don't recall ever using it. My kitchen is always a total mess.

That salad looks just right for the weather we're having these days.
Hey, I never said my kitchen was always tidy . I took the photos of the reamer and the rolling pin out in DH's room.

Well, I finally got around to photographing some things in my kitchen and I see you have the new challenge posted already! Anyway, my favourite kitchen gadget these days is my yogurt maker. I use it twice a week, as I have a yogurt to start each day. The second photo is of my refrigerator door, which is a showplace for my grandsons' art.

Default Here is a picture I took of my healthy breakfast!!!

Hi ladies,

I had to play this challenge when I saw Judi's salad on her blog this week. I thought it was taking a picture of food, so I took a picture of my healthy breakfast. The whip cream is not real, it's cool whip, the fruits are frozen and taste real good! The toast is made with kamut flour and there is maple sirup too, but after a good brisk walk and exercise, my body won't even know it had it...but i will.

Enjoy ladies.

I can't seem to remember how to upload a thumbnail properly, but if your click on the french toast link you can have a peek at my delish breakfast!

Default Beautiful pictures

Sabrina, I love that rolling pin, too bad it's got woodorm, at least we can't put this one on the mice... Neat thingy for juice extraction and I wish I could have a piece of that good looking cake.

TFS and for hosting. I can't seem to make it here often enough.

Judi, You know how much you inspired me to join this week, or maybe you don't...Your salad just gave me food for thought I suppose. TFS and for being so inspiring.

Ina, I love the yogourt maker, I wish I could have plain yogourt, but I have to add fruit to it all the time and of course, maple syrup. Your fridge door, reminded me that maybe I could show off mine perhaps later. Nothing like child art to put a smile on your face in the morning huh!

Thank you for sharing my friends!

Snazzy yoghurt maker . I don't know if I've ever made it, though my mum used to, in a big thermos flask. And the fridge picture is great - I liked having pictures on ours when I minded a friend's children. All I have at the moment is a Valentine from my niece.
Scrumptious looking breakfast, Peggy. But give me real whipped cream on mine .

Yes, Peggy, I vote for the real cream too! But the whole thing really makes my mouth water. I eat the plain, low fat yogurt first thing in the morning...........I have this idea that it is good for my health, tehe! But if I wanted to add fruit to it, it would be done after it is made.
