Cosy looking sweater (jumper, to me) .
And what a fun challenge - I might take a close-up of an embroidery in progress, or open up my fabric drawer.

Irish Linens - an old linen tablecloth from my grandmother - if not a generation further back. I love using it, but it takes about half an hour to iron it after washing. And it's Irish linen I am using as a ground for the embroidery too.

Fabric Sampler - I need to get back to sewing - I used to do a lot when DH was away a couple of nights most weeks. Some here from Mozambique, Thailand, India, Italy and Illinois. (I haven't been to any of those places, all given to me by friends who know I sew).

Angie, I can't believe you chose fabrics for this week's photo challenge! I was just browsing through a fabric shop yesterday and came home with two pieces. You might call me a fabricaholic. However, I left my camera at work, so a picture will have to wait until I get it back.

Oh how I wish I still worked at the fabric store...what photos I could take. Well, guess I'll dig into my stock and see what I can come up with.

Well, here are my fabric shots. I have piles of uniforms, but I still look for cool fabrics to make more scrub tops even though I will only work another year and a half. The first one is a piece of fabric for a new scrub top,the next one is a cool fabric that I just bought one yard of, hoping to use it in cards (great for boy cards) and a gift bag. The third photo is a small section of my favourite uniform, that I made a couple of years ago.

Way cool uniforms you must have, Ina. My only medical experience in the States was when my mother was in UMASS Medical Centre, and I never saw anything like that!
And the car one - as soon as I saw it I thought man cards .

I do have lots of great uniforms, almost all home made........if not by me, then by my former neighbour. But up until 5 years ago, I wore nothing but white. I swore that I would never go with colored uniforms. Until the night when I walked into the emergency department and a patient relative looked up and said, " Wow, a white uniform! What a throwback! The old nurses used to wear white!" Well that very day I went home and ordered a color uniform. because I certainly don't want to be called an old nurse. (even though I am one of the oldest ones in our hospital) When my neighbour retired jsut after that, she gave me all her beautifully home made uniforms and I have added to them ever since.

UMMC uniforms were pretty much light blue, as far as I can remember. Um, that would have been some time in the early nineties. f I were a patient I'd love to see the bright colours and patterns.

I remembered these little antique lace caps that I found a couple of years back in a bag of old family stuff. Horrified to find I've lost the envelope with the details of the cap in this photo - off to look for it now! It's from the early 19th century, I think the date was 1803 or something like that.

Visited the Los Angeles Garment District to help a friend buy some tulle and ribbon for her daughter's wedding decor. The FABRIC was amazing!

Here's my favorite shot - lots more on my blog today HERE

(Doesn't this fabric make you want to sew pink dotted fleece jammies for yourself?)

Thanks for looking!

Look at that texture! I'd go for red, not pink, though .

I wanted to do this challenge as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately it took me awhile to get it done.

I bought this adorable fabric by Michael Miller when I was pregnant w/son #2. My mom always wanted me to have a daughter (so she could have an Asian granddaughter, as I'm adopted) so I made her a lap quilt with this fabric thinking she'd never get her wish. A year later my daughter was born.

Shelley, that fabric is adorable! No wonder you wanted to use it for your little girl!
