Taking a walk downtown and happened upon a random ICE scuplture out along the curb. Now that's kinda ODD!

I'm going to cheat on this one! I will find other photos, but this was very unusual. My perennial poppies bloom near the end of May/beginning of June. They bloom only once and then the plant dies off and new shoots start up, to bloom again next spring. Imagine my surprise when I noticed a blooming poppy on September 11! Poppies are flowers of remembrance so it was very appropriate on 9/11.

Hey all!

Wonderful poppy!!!

You may be asking why I am putting a picture of my messy desk here, look at the bottom left of the photo. Just after I read this challenge my phone rang .... it was my DS calling ---just to talk!!! Wow! Was that wonderful but odd - he is always soooo busy! LOL!

I planted nasturtiums in a hanging basket in May. Then I planted more in June. The basket is just higher than I can see unless I climb on the wall, so I only checked it occasionally when there was no sign of anything happening.
In between the torrential downpours today, when I went out to fill the bird feeder, I spotted this bright splash of orange. Hmm - it was meant to cover an arch from the top, because I hadn't bought particularly tall sweet-pea seeds since we didn't have the arch when I was buying.

On my last trip to Seattle we were headed to the area of the Space Needle. Looking up it looked like the Space Needle was growing out of this building!

Hubby and I went away last weekend for our 16th anniversary (which is acutally today). Now that in itself is odd as we've never gone away in the 16 yrs we've been married. We went hiking and I took tons of pictures.(of course ) These might not look odd to you but they are to me. Picture #1 - The Kiss: why is this odd? 1. I don't like my picture taken 2. I'm not big on PA especially kissing But all in all I like how this picture turned out. Picture #2 - we went hiking on the trail next to the bridge.. it started raining on us... and then HAIL!! Picture #3 - Hail mixed in with fall leaves. Very odd to see in Oct. in Ohio but we still had a good time as we didn't have the kids

Great photos Amber! Don't worry about whether anyone else thinks it's odd. If you think it's odd, then it fits the challenge!

Just another ODD moment from our early snow. Thought this was pretty with the white snow against the vibrant red of the firebush!

Through the plane window, I saw this corn maze and thought, "That's odd to see it from this angle".

Saw this sign on the ceiling of the train station in Boston. There really was no reason for the sign as there was no way to get up there that I could see.

Got to laugh at the sign on the ceiling - unless it's for maintenance guys.
That maze would beat any of the mazes we get here hollow!

Your photos are all great. I love them all, but I am especially fond of the flower after the ice storm. Wow! And I'm giggling at the sign on the ceiling . . . makes me wonder if it's there for a joke or something. Great photos ladies!!

We were out looking at desert wildflowers when we came upon this sculpture:

How weird is that?

Then we noticed there are lots of different sculptures scattered around the Anza Borrego Desert!

I have more pics and the story behind them on my BLOG today.

Thanks for looking!

While taking a pic of a pretty shell & playing with the Macro setting on my Canon t1i ~ I saw this little fish that were on the beach (later we found them in the parking lot as well, but I did not have my camera with me them ~ cause seeing them there was really weird!)...I have no clue as to why or how they were there... Odd! Talking about a fish out of water!

I think this might qualify as something odd since you generally don't see an arrow in a Saguaro. Guess some lame brain idiot felt threatened by it.

I'm quite sure that whoever shot the arrow was practicing but I always like to refer to these idiots as being threatened by some inanimate object. Years ago I read about someone who crashed his glider plane into a giant Saguaro. He survived the impact but the Saguaro fell over, impaled him which killed him.

I still can't drive our car till some electrics get fixed and I can adjust the mirror, but today was so lovely that I took a bus to the park. The mandarin ducks were still there , but I was also intrigued by this holly that had seeded and sprouted in a big pine tree. It was quite high up - at least 10 feet above the ground, I'd say.

Hope your car is better soon. That certainly is odd with the holly. I once saw a prickly pear growing on a Saguaro.

Sabrina, that is odd, but I can see how it happened. There is a hole in the tree that has collected a growing medium (mulch, sol, who knows?) in it and the seed must have blown up there.
I love the composition of your photo, the texture of the trees and the airiness of the holly. A great shot!

I suppose this could have qualified as a line - of sorts - but it better belongs here.
It must have been somebody's art installation, although it wasn't up for long - I snapped it on the way to work about 9 in the morning, and by 1 it was gone.
