Arrow Photo Challenge #52 ~ Truly Timeless {9-27-09}

What does timeless mean to you and how can you convey that feeling to others in a photo? Is it an old statueque building? A beautiful garden or landscape where you can seem to escape all the pressures of life? A timepiece on an aged mantel? An older couple holding hands? See what you can find this week that speaks to you in a timeless manner.

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

This little tiny church near my parents house in PA seems to be unaffected by time. Everything changes around it but yet it stands, unchanged down a lonely country road and welcomes all to come in.

Beautiful picture. I love driving by places like that even though we don't have very many here in SoCal.

The Botanic Gardens are my timeless place to go to escape. Getting time to go there - that's another thing. But if it's not raining on Sunday we have a visit pencilled in before the annual sculpture exhibition ends. Never got time for last week's challenge, with being sick, so I have a couple of ideas simmering on the back-burner.
That little church is lovely - we have nothing like that type of architecture here. Without the little bell-tower I'd never know it was a church. Looking at it reminded me of one place I worked in the UK where they had a little 14th century church in the grounds. It didn't often get used, only for special services, but I loved the peaceful atmosphere in it.

I, too, am working on a photo....but the weather here is miserable this week. When the sun finally comes out (and I'm not at work) I will endeavour to get out. If not, I will try something indoors using some of my antiques.

DH and I just moved and bought a house. In our front yard we have several beautiful rose bushes (they are taller then me, I'm 5'2). I absolutely love them!
Here are my timeless photos from my "rose garden"

It looks like this was a difficult challenge for most of us.........not too many photos posted! Sharon, those roses are beautiful!
I had a hard time with this one, mainly because I was too lazy to get out and look! I did take a photo of an old broach ?sp? handed down to me from my mother. It came from my grandmother and is probably around 100 years old. It is now a broach, but I think in former times, it was a pin that held together the Dutch headpieces that ladies used to wear.

Angie, I thought you went away for a little vacation? Do you still want me to do the challenge tomorrow, or will you be able to do it?

Oh my goodness, Paola! What an awesome photo! I love the way you framed it and that hut looks like it is on a tropical island! So glad you found the photo challenges! You are going to be a great addition to our weekly photo challenges!

Paola, I love the way you took the photo with the pine tree framing it. Just lovely!

We didn't get to the Botanic Gardens yesterday - combination of tiredness and the weather not being that enticing. I did upload a photo to my blog after I started thinking about the Timeless theme - but being 12 years old it's hardly eligible for posting on this thread . The copy in my dad's bathroom is so faded I don't know why it's still hanging on the wall!

The first photo is an Indian ruin at the Humolovi Ruins. the second is a painted advertisement on the side of a building and the baby carriage in La Posada Hotel's lobby.

The second one is my personal favourite - but the third one has a real wow factor.
