Arrow Photo Challenge #51 ~ Happy Birthday! {9-20-09}

That's right, the Photo Challenges turn a year old this week! Wooo hooo! Grab a party hat and let's share some cake!!! It sure doesn't seem like it's been a year though, does it? But now that we have a year full of awesome pictures and challenges I thought it would be fun to take this week and look back over them all! Go back and pic out an old favorite challenge or maybe one that you miss and give it a go! You might even be able to combine a few! Just be sure to state which challenge/challenges you picked and/or link it along with your photo in this thread. Have a great week!

Here's the link to the
MASTER PHOTO CHALLENGE LIST.

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

We've been hitting a lot of the local parks again now that the weather is cooling off and I'm again fasinated by water! Here are some of my pics of flowing water: Photo Challenge #7 ~ Water, Water Everywhere!

I haven't been here the whole year, but--HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I don't think I've even looked at all of the old challenges, so this'll be fun!

Hmm - I might try and just play catch-up with the macro from last week! What with getting on top of things after holidays I never got round to it.
Happy Birthday to the Photo challenges - and thanks for setting them, Angie.
That second water photo is amazing.
I was really missing my ND filter when we were on holidays, couldn't slow the waves down enough.

Connie - beautiful macro pictures. I went out shooting macros for the challenge and ended up empty handed. Back to the drawing board.

Angie - your water pictures look so refreshing.

We are having another heat wave here so I decided to go to the coast to take pictures for the water challenge. Here is a link to the water, water everywhere challenge. It is hard to believe the challenge forum is a year old.

I'm going back to the Shooting On Location Challenge. One of my fav places to shoot from is the back parking lot of where I work. It has one of the best views in Wasilla and since we got termination dust(the first snowfall on the mtn which signals snow will soon be in the lowlands) on the mtns last night I wanted to get out this AM and get some photos. I ADORE winter so seeing termination dust gets me very excited! The photos are looking out at the Talkeetna Mtns that surround 1 side of Wasilla.

I'll go back to one more challenge, Seeing Red. In Aug we had an amazing experience with some Red Fox kits that were orphaned in a state park down the road from our place. They are wild, and there are 5 kits total but we only saw 3 of them this particular day. The Reds were not scared of us at all, but their sibling, a cross fox kit, was much more skittish.

Lisa, your photos are wonderful! I love the snow, once it gets here, but I don't look forward to it, as I really enjoy the summer!
I posted to challenge #31, as I had not done so before. Since I got my computer fixed, I don't seem to be able to make my photos smaller to upload easier, so I think I can only post one at a time.
This photo was taken on Labour day weekend. After we watched the gorgeous sunset, our host's brother cooked a wonderful Hawaiian dinner, and we ate it on the deck overlooking the water!

Oops, forgot to add the photo!
The second photo is of the delicious snack my friend made on Sunday. She cut egg roll wraps in quarters and put them in muffin cups, 10 minutes (or a little less) in the oven and filled them with yummy salmon filling and also cottage/cream cheese and spices. Sooo good!

We are in the middle of a heat wave and your pictures are soothing right now. I wish I were there to see the snow irl. Of course in the middle of the winter when you are freezing I will probably be glad I'm not there. lol. Great pictures.

Default Congratulations Angie

I did but one challenge and that was so much fun, it was different lights in the night. I admire your challenge from afar and come to it from time to time. You are very talented at taking pictures and all the ladies here.

Will try to figure one out for your anniversary challenge! As I am going out today.

Congrats again, this is a fun place to admire nature and more!

Kindly, Peggy

Wohoo! Happy Birthday photo challenges!

We have been in the middle of moving (from New Mexico to Utah) so I have been seriously busy for the last month and then some. But I'm back now and can't wait to get to takin' some pictures!

Timmycat, I love your photos. We just don't have that sort of woodland here - any of the really large forests tend to be conifers and I especially liked your middle photo.
I loved those fox shots further up, too. I used to be able to watch them in some woods I often walked in when I still lived at home with my parents, but I haven't seen one for a long time now.

Sabrina, my mouth is watering! These look scrumptious! Whenever you are ready for a trip to Canada, you can stay at my house and make me some of these! Or do you have to be 90 years old to get this treat? Congrats to your FIL on his 90th!

Default Heavy Metal

WOW! Has it really been a year? Time flies when you're having fun! And this has been fun! Thanks to Angie for all her hard work!

It was hard picking my favorite challenge as there are quite a few I've had fun with. So I went with some favorite pictures I've taken lately. Here are a couple from the Miramar Air Show this past weekend, for the Heavy Metal Challenge. My hubby knows two of the current Blue Angel pilots, and was offered a ride in the back seat. He's in the plane closest to the camera and upside down in #7.

They flew on a Friday and I pulled the kids out of school so they could see Daddy fly with the Blue Angels. Everyone had a great time, especially DH. He said it was like riding your favorite roller coaster for 45 minutes. Some guys have all the luck...

More photos are on my blog http://enjoyinthelittlethings.blogspot.com/.

Those are fantastic photos, Lisa - but I would consider myself very unlucky to be in one of those planes, LOL. Glad your DH enjoyed it!!

Default Happy Birthday Sports Challenge #41

I picked the sports challenge to revisit. I had fun playing around at the local high school football game. Here are my two favorite shots.

There are more shots with cheerleaders, etc on my BLOG today.

Thanks for taking the time to look!
