Can you say errie summer sky? Yikes! It was almost purple a few nights ago as the sun was setting and a storm was moving in fast! And here's Andrew holding a lil' friend he found outside.

Wow, great pictures, Angie! I love the sky in your storm picture, so dramatic and it has such a wonderful feel to it.

Here is mine, from when we went blueberry picking last week. Thanks for looking.

Great challenge Angie. I'll see what I can find. I just wanted to share this photo that my 13 year old son got last week. We were discussing the qualifications for his boy scout photography merit badge. We had gone to pick up my youngest son at VBS and we were on our way home when we saw this tree silhouetted with the sun setting behind it, with the evening mist rising from the field. I know it was taken last week, and it isn't even my photo, so Angie don't send the challenge police after me. I will find something of my own to share this week.

We still have marigolds in the garden, hot summer colour . Hope it's sunny tomorrow.
I did take a picture of DH for last week's challenge, just haven't had time to upload it yet. I took several, actually, but he posed too much in some of them and I certainly wouldn't share them.

OK, all I have to say is you guys are lucky I have dial- up because other wise I would be uploading tons of pictures. I have to say that no one usuals sees my pictures. I scrap a very small percent of the pics I take so they are usually left on my computer for the rest of eternity! I am very excited to have people see them even if it's only a few of them!

This cute little Dragon fly was hanging out on one of my dad's cornstalks. I was amazed at how close he let me get. I only have an 18-55 mm lens on my SLR so I was almost touching him to get some of the shots.

These are some shots of the day Lilly's in my mom's garden. There are so many beautiful colors out there that I don't know how you could pick just one!

Just love that shot of the dragonfly, it's amazing.
Grey, overcast and slightly drizzly here today. A typical Irish summer, as the guy in the post office sorting office said when I went to collect a parcel, but not very conducive to the theme of summer colours.

Smile Summer Sunset

I have been watching this forum for a couple of weeks, and being inspired to get my camera out a bit more. Everyone's pictures are awesome. Love the silhouette of the sunset and mist!
Last week we were at the beach and I had recently seen a picture like this and wanted to make my own. I love it! Hope you do too

Thanks for looking,

Wonderful sky scenes, great scenery and love the insects and birds (would hate to be the creature that hawk is carrying). Nice flowers and berries too, those blueberries are such a nice photos. Connie not sure what the red plant growth is in post 12 but it sure is pretty.

I took about thirty photos (other than the bee on the primrose) just around the yard, so here's three of my favorite shots.

Primrose and bubble bee, clematis and raspberries.

Roxie, I love your Clematis. Sadly, my plant is on its last legs. The plant with the red cones in post 12 is, I think, a Tamarack.

Some of my favourite things about summer are the flowers. The first photo is of my front flower bed where the petunias have all grown from seed that fell last fall. I did not plant any of them! I just love the way the colors blend! The second one was taken in my SIL's garden. The last is an amazing sunset sky taken on my birthday.......what a gift!

Default My favorite "color" pics

Here are a few that are favorites of mine: The bumblebee was in the very top of the tree I used my 300 zoom to capture him. This was one of the first shots I took with my new Canon EOS Rebel SLR and I liked it so well I blew it up to 5X7 and have it on top my desk. The big blossoms are my wallpaper on my computer at work now. The last shot is of the hall where my cousin was married. There was one candle still burning in the aisleway where she was married outside earlier in the day. I must have taken 20 different shots before I got this one and it's becoming one of my favorite shots too. I think it's because I had to work so hard to capture it just how I wanted it with the hall, Flag, and sunset in background!

This summer in SE Alaska the fireweed has been amazing. Fireweed blooms from the bottom up and it is said that when the last blooms reach the top we only have 6 weeks until winter.

These photos were taken behind my house, along the railroad tracks. The fireweed is over 5' tall and there are waves of purple as far as the eye can see.

The weather here hasn't been great for summer colours.
But when we were out this morning, I snapped the potentilla and the rudbeckia.
The nasturtiums were in my aunt's garden. It was a rainy forecast that day, but we were able to sit out in her garden and just enjoy the sun and all her lovely flowers.

Thanks, Ina!! I really enjoy taking pictures of flowers. My husband is the gardener and he loves flowers, especially roses, as much as I do. We have a lot of flowers throughout our yard. I just took about 60 more pics just today.
I just happened to get lucky with the hummingbird, I think he was really hungry. He stayed around for a long time.
