Arrow Photo Challenge #37 ~ Shoes {6-7-09}

Shoes sure can say a lot about a person, can't they? They can make bold statements and even show off emotions. And not only that but they're just FUN, everybody has 'em, and you can find them just about anywhere you go! And you're gonna need some for this week's challenge. They don't have to include people though, those are optional. Happy shoe hunting!

~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.

~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

Wet weather forecast all week. Today bucked the forecast, so I dug out my favourite summer dress and some old shoes (made the dress about 18 or 19 years ago, and spent more than normal on the shoes because they were a perfect match!) and nipped outside.

There's a photo of an old photo of me in the dress on my blog

p.s. - if anyone can tell me how to just insert a clickable thumb, I'd be more than happy. I paste the code from PictureTrail for clickable thumbs, but it doesn't work. It looks like this - <a href="http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=10&imgid=366459164" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1286/4746855/20768775/t-366459164.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.picturetrail.com" /></a>, but there's obviously something wrong!

Shoes!! I love shoes!! Here are three. Well, that would be six, actually. Since there are three pictures of two shoes... (And one of a person with shoes, though the shoes are not the main subject.)

By the way, Cook 22, do you mean clickable thumbnails like the ones on this post? If you do, all you do to do that (tongue twister!) is scroll down under where you type your reply when you click "reply" on a thread, and then click on the "Manage Attachments" button. Then browse and upload! If that's what you were taking about, hope that helps!

And, yes, those are my dirty little paws in the flipflop picture. I LOVE my flipflops!!!!!!!!!!

Love the white sandals on the grass with the dandelions - and the grungy look of the jeans picture reminds me of a lot of the shoots in Kaffe Fasset's knitting books.
Could that model walk in those shoes in the Paris photo? Imagine what they must do to your feet - not for me. Not to do more than look at, anyway. Must have been fascinating to see, though.
My clickable thumbs was in relation to the fact that PictureTrail offers me several codes - direct image link, which is just a hyperlink, embedding the photo as I did above, and then clickable thumbs which just don't seem to work.

Great shots! This shouldn't be too hard. I should go hang out at the train station and take some pictures of the Japanese shoes. They have some rather interesting ones.

I had this problem when I first tried to post a picture and found the problem was it was too big a file. I now copy the pictures I use for posting and then compress the copy to "Document" size. They upload with no problem now.

These are my all time favorite shoes this season. I have a black and a brown pair. They are just too cute and I still love them at the end of the day!

I don't know what my shoes will say about me. I wear runners at work, I wear runners gardening, running errands, hiking, and just about anything. Oh, yes I do have a couple of pairs of heels for church. I had no idea what kind of photo I could take that would be interesting. Well, there on the hutch, right beside my crafting table, was my special pair of wooden shoes. They could be worn, but I use them only for decorative purposes. 20 years ago, my kids and I were on vacation in Holland Michigan and we watched craftsmen making wooden shoes. My kids were 9, 12 and 15 at the time. Well, those sneaky kids had this pair made special for me on my birthday and I found them on the car seat when we were finished sight seeing! Very memorable. And I guess these shoes show my Dutch heritage too!

Love those Dutch clogs. I guess they can be called Dutch even if it's Holland Michigan, LOL.

Holland , Michigan was founded by Dutch immigrants and when you drive around in that area, you can see Dutch names on many mailboxes........even though they may go back many generations. I know some of my relatives emigrated there in the 1920's, and some after the war. There is a Dutch village there for tourists and it has a windmill and also a clog making industry. That's where they bought my clogs.

Great pics of shoes so far and I like them all, a real fun challenge Angie.

These are my husbands outside boots and my son's first walking shoes from many years ago!

I took the photo in color and changed to grayscale in the photo program.

Roxie, that photo is gorgeous! One for the scrapbook or wall even! I love the contrast between the small and large and white and dark. Changing this photo to grayscale was truly inspired!

That is fantastic! LOVE it in the grayscale too. I agree, perfect for a father's day card.

Great shots, I like the second one (on the right) the best of the two.

All of your shots are great. I just remembered I still have a tiny pair of cowboy boots my son had 25 years ago. Roxie you inspired me to take a similar shot for a scrapbook. Thanks.

That Boots picture is just great - the impression it gives of a little girl needing to stand on the stamps to groom the horse just says it all.

Smile These Boots were made for walkin...

So I saw the other "Boots" pics... and I thought immediately of the pic I took after "Mud Puddle Day" at my daycare! The kids enjoy a fun-filled morning, jumping in Mud puddles (or big puddles) and at the end we let the kids and boots dry off. I took a memorable pic of the boots drying.

PS> I love the other "shoe" pics! Great job everyone! I love the cow boots! Roxi, great pic, perfect for Father's day! I am so excited to find this photography thread... man, it's taken me this long... I joined in 2006. LOL!!
Gotta go back now, and see if I can add pics to the others... WOW!

So here is the pic... And also a before shot of the boots in action...

Smile Flip-flop fun...

Ya, so here is some more from my "collection"... summer shots!

Flip-flop fun...
The first pic (green one) is a shot of my one flip flop... the other one was lost in the pond. I slipped and almost fell into a pond near our friends house, and I lost my shoe in the mud in the pond... so I left the other one there! They were my favourite flip flops, so I took this pic to remember them! LOL!

The second one is a shot of my "camp bathroom flipflops", and a beautiful butterfly who landed on my toe! (I should have done a pedi... but hey, I was at youth camp) LOL!

the first is my neices feet before the prom. I wished I could have had her back up a few but she was already getting annoyed at having her picture taken.

the second is my foot. I actually took this for a 365 blog but I liked the line of it

Hey Stampmouse - you should have a picture of your niece's feet after the prom. I think dancing in those shoes would have just about done me in. lol
