Hey there ya'll! Sorry about taking a little "break" last week! We had a leaky roof and ceiling that we were focusing on and photos completely slipped my mind! After a downpour most of today, things seems to be leak free again, thank goodness.
This week I thought it would be fun to play around with lights. I certainly find them a challenge! Especially outside at night. You don't have to wait until it dark though. You might want to play around with the lights in your own house during the day or you might want to wait til dark. The only requirement is that the light/lights in the photo are on. I'm pretty sure we're going to see some awesome light fixtures this week!

The first photo is of the lights around the top of a local deli at dusk. The second are the decorate lights outside at a friend's patio & pool. I loved them so much I went out and picked so up for our deck. Can't wait to put them up!

Cool photos! Loving those patio lights, and the graphic lines in the first one.
Is this the prompt for me to get out the Christmas lights and try that experimenting with bokehs that I've been promising myself for the last three months? I got some great night shots in Paris, but that was March so they're not new photos.
Fun challenge Angie! Great photos! (Glad you got the roof taken care of.)

Hello Angie and everyone that comes here, I have a new and old findind. As some of you might know, I have just moved in my new home. It's quite spacy right now, and I kind of like it that way, though I do need a living room table. Anyway, I found this sort of lantern at a thrift store and thought it was so cool, because it looks like a real one, but you can plug it in. I've tried to make my other stuff fit. Now I have attached it, but don't know if it works or not.
Welcome to the photo challenges Peggy! Did you get help already?
If not, write you response, and instead of 'post reply' go to advanced at the bottom. Then click on the photo icon..........it's the lock to the right of the smies icon. From there, you can browse your own photos and upload the photo attachment. Hope this helps.
I was playing around with my new camera checking all the bells and whistles. And I got this shot. All Fives is the name I gave it. I was trying to sit still with a slow shutter but i must have moved.
I hope everyone likes it.

Very cool!!! Totally see where you got the "All Fives" from!! I love moving my camera on lights at night to get these crazy cool looking shots!!
I know I'm not supposed to do this (post pictures taken before the challenge!) but I had to do it for this one and the "T" challenge because I love pictures!! I was so proud of how this lighted fountain shot came out! It was taken while I was in Chicago. Believe it or not, this was shot at 11:30 pm - while we were out on the town!! Good times.
Oh - AND it was taken with my smaller, 6.0 megapixel step-up-from-a-compact. (Canon Powershot S3) Kinda cool, huh?

My son's Jazz Band gave an outdoor concert under the stars. I used a slow shutter to try to capture the dark night with the bright spotlights on the band.
Great pictures of light! What a fun challenge! Here's one of mine, taken at Disneyland last week. I tried taking more at night, but the kids wouldn't stop long enough for me to take pictures!
I love the pictures I've been seeing of the different lightings, I (with the help of Ina) succeeded in uploading my lamp, it's right above Ina's reply to help.
I hope this one is okay for the theme. It uses the ultimate light fixture! I just love how the sun is shining right over the top of the rose. Very fun shot! Shoot me if I breaking the rules! I'll do better, I promise!
Love those Disney photos! It's been so long, I think we're due for a trip soon!
Here are just a few of the many luminaries lit around the track for the Luminaria Ceremony as we did Relay for Life last month. Extremely touching and moving...

That is such an awesome sight as you walk around the track with only the luminaries lit around your feet. I did the relay for life a few years ago, and seeing as I am a night shift worker, I walked in the wee hours when everyone else had settled into an exhausted sleep. It was a great experience.

I bet. Luminarias are one of my favorite Christmas decorations. Whole neighborhoods decorate with them (where I grew up) and it was just so simply beautiful.
