Arrow Photo Challenge #26 ~ In Your Perspective {3-15-09}

Hi ya'll! First off, big congrats to our winner from last week's challenge!!! Step right up, Hannah aka girlzclubstampers, and take a bow! She was the lucky name pulled from the jar!

Secondly, I'm sorry I'm running sooooo far behind this week! We had family here and I thought for sure I'd find the time to steal away and get this posted and as you can see that didn't happen!

Our challenge for this week is to look at things in an Unusual Perspective. You get to determine what exactly that means to you - upside down, sideways, down, through something else.... Just don't try anything dangerous! Tilt, turn and angle your camera and have some "outside the box" fun with it!

Our challenge for this week is to find an Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!

My pics: the first is the refection of the tree in the river. Thought it was a cool looking and quite a different perspective to show how gnarled the tree is. The second is a little water fountain at a local park, taken at a close up angle.

I just got back from D.C. with some of my 5th graders. When I saw this challenge I thought of this photo I took from the base of the Washington Monument. I don't know how unusual it is but I like the way it turned out!

I took so many photos to capture the angle I wanted for the grandfather clock. I can honestly say Iíve never seen it from this angle before.

The jacks are items we always look down on so I thought it would make an interesting perspective to look at them straight on as they lay on the table.

Ok, Roxie, tell the truth...

Did you dust the top of the clock specifically for this picture? If it were my house, I would have climbed up on the stool and taken one look only to find an inch of dust.

Angie, your tree photo is beautiful. Eerie

Michelle, the angle of the WM is really interesting. How was the trip? Lucky. I need to take my kids there. Its only 5 hours away.

Roxie, the picture of the jax is FANTASTIC. I LOVE it. Something about it - the plain background, the composition, the reflection on the surface, the light.....awesome.

No worries - Haven't you heard that only boring women have clean houses?

Love both of those shots, Roxie! You really picked great angles to shoot from - those jacks look perfect - I just want to pick them up to play with!

Angie - great challenge (as usual - how do you think of all these?!) LOVE that tree shot - so, so beautiful! I think that would be great framed on the wall!

Michelle - that's the perfect angle! Very impressive shot for an impressive monument!

The trip was a lot of fun! It was a 14 hour drive on a charter bus with 31 5th graders. They kept it interesting. We did have a lot of fun on the trip and we slept all the way home!

Congratulations Hannah!

Angie, I love the perspective of your fountain photo.

Michelle, the angle of your photo of the Washington Monument makes it look so tall.

Roxie, I love your clock photo.

Pam the colors in the photos of your hang gliders is stunning. I love the bright blue sky.

My photos are taken of the Keokuk bridge that connects Illinois and Iowa over the Mississippi river. I took them looking up.

It was so very tall! Here is a picture of it from a distance. Take a look at the flag poles around it to get an idea of how tall it is.

I still have my grandson with me.........so of course he is the focus. There is very little snow left, but he manages to find every little bit! These are both taken from above him, which is not a really unusual perspective, seeing as he is lying on the ground, but I think they are interesting.

Here are some photos I took in France.
The first is a tower in Paris that was used for astronomy hundreds of years ago.
The second is the under-side of the Arc de Triomph in Paris.
The third is a photo of a church taken from the drawbridge doorway of a castle ruins in Caen, France.

This next photo is of a crater created by underground explosives, placed by the French under the German front lines at the Somme, France, during the first world war. It is really impressive in real life!!

I actually had a fabulous time and I learned more about WW1 and 2 history in 10 days than I ever learned in school.
