Photo Challenge #161 ~ Show Your Stripes {09/21/2012}
Sorry for being late with this - I had the photos taken, but had a head-cold and wasn't online much. I still have another couple of photos I took earlier in the summer - just have to find them!
Show your stripes!! I loved the weathered look on the black and white painted structure at the level crossing and ended up with some close-ups too. The other two were both taken at work.
Stripes feature heavily in my wardrobe - maybe I should be looking there for more inspiration. And there are plenty of stripes in nature - tabby cats, tigers, ring-tailed lemurs . What stripes can you find?
Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
Sabrina, was it you who gave me a cold? I didn't realize it could travel on-line!
I love the graphic look of your stripe photos
Pansy, good to see you back here. I am so jealous! I love hot air balloons! Great stripes on these two! where did you see these?

Oh Pansy, perfect!! The one in the background is amazing - it almost looks dimensional, like a honeycomb shape. I am envious - I've only ever once seen hot air balloons.
Thanks guys....there was a small balloon festival here in Garden City, KS over the weekend......next week is the huge international one in Albuquerque, NM. Friday night was perfect flying weather and again Sunday morning....was able to get images both times...Saturday was a washout both morning and eveing.
Ina, I am going to try to be more faithful about being on this thread....and do the challenges.....

I've always loved hot air balloons. It was on my bucket list of things to do when I met that special guy! However, my sister-in-law was smarter than me and figured out I would never meet 'that special guy' and gave me a couple of tickets to go on a ride. It was awesome! I would do it again any time, if it didn't cost so much!
Sabrina, I have found stripes everywhere! My photos: #1. Awning of a window at the medical center I took my SIL to this morning. #2. A corn silo at the farm where I bought some sweet corn today. It's almost the end of the season and I love sweet corn! There are crossways stripes and also up and down stripes. #3. My new to me sweater. I love the colours on it. Bought it at the used clothing store for $4.99

, I was surprised we hadn't already had stripes. Well spotted in the clinic, and I love your sweater.
The silo is a cool shot too - I don't think we have them like that here!

Sheesh, have I really been thinking about stripes for a challenge as long as this! I looked through May, June and July, and then March and April. And found it at last in February... He's not as stripy as I remembered, but I definitely took this photo with an eye to using stripes, so here he is...

A couple more "stripes" photos.
I took the one of the worker painting out the graffiti a couple of weeks ago, and the one of the shadow stripes in the fence this morning.
I like the second graffiti photo best, but it takes the first one to put it in context.
