Default Photo Challenge #142 ~ It's a Wrap{10/25/2011}

Sorry, I had a few photos lined up to take but we had terrible weather the last couple of days (flooding, rain, dark skies, really dismal light) and then today we had a central heating crisis which has totally distracted me. My idea was any sort of wrapping or packaging; functional, pretty, whatever...cellophane around flowers, chocolate boxes...

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ You can jump in and start any of the photo challenges at any time..
~ Again - HAVE FUN

So, the only shot I actually have is one I took of a pack of lollipops I brought back from France for my nephews and nieces. We were visiting on Saturday, so I had to take it before they were gone.
Will be back with more later in the week.
If you remember the sign I posted of a Creperie, the packaging is in the same style of Quimper Faiencerie.

AS they say when it rains it pours! Hope all is going better. Guess I'll have to take a look into the pantry to see what I might have or take my caamera grocery shopping.

Well, here's a start. The first one is a package of paper that I use for layering, the second is the tin that my Prismacolor pencils came in and the third are two different packages of various gold leaf.

The first one is great - just the sort of thing I was thinking of
What do you use the gold leaf for? Very arty packaging on the left-hand pack.

Every once in a while I use it on my cards. You use something called (I think) heat and stick. The pine cones might give a better idea of using gold leaf.

Here's a bag of croutons and unless I decide to take my camera shopping, that's it for me.

Audrey, it looks like you have lots of states on the go there.......New York 'Texas toast' croutons in Arizona! I love your gold leaf cards....beautiful!
Here are a couple of photos from me. I'm sure you will get lots of response during the Christmas season, when people are using all kinds of wrapping.
My first picture is of the pile of wrapping paper I have stashed away in the corner of my guest room. I don't use it much any more....mostly cloth and paper bags. The second shot is of a shopping bag I bought at H.E.B., a grocery chain in Texas. It looks like an impressionist painting to me (the artist signed it 'Thelma Cardwell'.)

I have tons of them too.......but most of them are a boring black with a recycling logo on them. This is my only pretty one.....too bad it's plastic, not cloth.

I took these yesterday, but I forgot about the box of chocolates my sister brought. I'd better take a photo of that tomorrow before we open it!
The Fleur de Sel was nicely tied with a ribbon, but I've already put the salt into a glass jar where it will stay dry. Two of the areas we were in in France were salt-producing regions.

I hope they were Butler chocolates! We went crazy for those when we were in Ireland this summer. Especially the chocolate/mango truffles.

Here are a few of my tote bags. The little blue one I crossed stitched a DeGrazia design on both sides and I used to use it as a lunch bag when I was gainfully employed. The smaller red bag is one of several I received when I lived in Chicago and was a member of the Field Museum, the blue from a quilting store south east and the other red from a rubber stamp store that has changed hands and name several times.

Chocolate and mint - yum!!
Those little tote bags are lovely, especially the stamped and stitched ones.
I saw this card in the gallery last night and thought of you, Audrey - Happy Holidillos! by deadbeat - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Love that card especially since I collect armadillos but I don't have a very large collection.

That is pretty paper. Bet you could incorporate it into a card.

One of my favourite shops for bath stuff, soaps, hand creams. It's very pricey, though, so it's a rare treat - but they always through in some freebie samples. I was getting some bits and pieces for my SIL's birthday, and she offered me gift wrapping. Yikes - it's going to add to the postage to send it like this, but how can I not, the box is gorgeous.
And at least I can tuck a dimensional flower card in that would be hard to send otherwise .

That is a beautiful matching box and bag! By the way ladies....I will be late in posting next week's challenge, as I am in Texas and forgot my cable to upload photos. Of course, I could just post the challenge without photos and add my pictures a couple of days later.
