Default Photo Challenge #13 Get low {12-17-08}

Since Angie is MIA I am going to go ahead and post another chalenge. I hope she doesn't mind.

The challenge this week is to change your point of view for taking pictures. Most of the time you take a picture from eye level. This week I want you to change that up, have a low point of view. Position the camera well below eye level. Get on your tummy, lay on your back, or squat down- just get low. I'm not talking about simply pointing the camera up - I'm talking about getting the camera low!

Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have
FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We
CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~
You can jump in and start any of the photo challenges at anytime..
~ Again -
HAVE FUN!

Michelle, this is a great challenge. It will get us out of our comfort zone. That is unless your comfort zone IS below eye level.

I LOVE to take pictures from odd angles. Here is one I took on my porch. I was squating lower than the icicles. Does that count? Took it this past Sat. after a beautiful storm!

Nice shot--great handling of the contrast between ice and sky. Crop just the peak of the roof off the bottom to put this over the top.

When she PMed me about doing the photo challenge for her she told me she was taking a long weekend and going to the Biltmore. I haven't heard from her since then. I really am worried about her. I will fill in with the challenges until we hear from her. I am praying that everything is okay.

Here is my photo. I took this photo this afternoon. It was taken about 15 inches off of the ground. I was having a hard time standing up because of the ice everwhere. If any of my neighbors saw me I am sure I was a sight to see bending over and wobbling on the ice to take this photo. I really like how it turned out. What do you think?

So I still have a lot of learning to do. The lighting in my living room is horrible but I do like the angle on this. This is in my living room. A set of antique trunks I have. I got down on the floor for this one and angled the camera just slightly.

Like a side, I have a lot to learn....

Default Photo challenge #13

Well, finally I get to upload one of my own. It snowed all day yesterday and I shovelled about 8 inches off my walk and driveway. While I was doing that we had one brief moment of a bit of clear sky and I got on my knees and took this shot of the pile of snow I had just shovelled. Boy, did my knees ever get cold!

Well, I didn't crop it.....I painted the roof peak to look like the rest of the sky. I didn't want you to loose any length of the icicles....hehe

MariLyn.....GREAT photo of the ice. I'd rather have a foot of snow then any ice at all.

Scrown.....LOVE the angle in your photo.....I was sitting here looking at it and I swear the bear is leaning to stay on the trunk.....LOL

YellowRose.....GREAT photo. We've had two days of snow and I think I will attempt to take a photo sitting in my driveway looking at my mailbox. Its just about buried completely by snow!! ((I'll make sure I take something to sit on so my big butt doesn't *stick* to the driveway....LOL thanks for the tip!!))

Thanks for sharing everyone!!

I got a Canon Rebel Xsi SLR digital Camera. So far I love it. I took a few more last night of a few things, just haven't uploaded them yet. I'm having fun with this thing.

I have a great idea for the photo I want to take but it has to quit raining first. It seems like it has been raining for 2 weeks straight. The drought is officially gone. So when the rain quits I plan to head out and take my photo.

I went out this morning and did my photo looking up at some TALL TREES!

Just in the nick of time because I got home and it started pouring buckets!

I have been having a good time getting to know my camera.
I think Angie and I were channeling eachother tonight cause I got down on the ground and took photos of my tree too. Just playing with some of the features. What do you think?

Jen, I love that photo of the tall trees. Awesome!
Angie, welcome back. Hope you are feeling better. Love both your photos. Is that ice on the trees?
Sharon, I am drooling! I am so wanting to get a Rebel! My neighbour/ friend has one and I just love what she can do with it!
I actually found a great deal on Ebay (actually it was BIL who pointed it out. I had been looking at other auctions. I got so much stuff and we didn't pay much more then the camera itself retails for. The camera is brand new and so are the accessories I got. I love this thing. If you are ever able to get one, I would highly reccommend Ebay.

What a neat shot! I love the ice pictures but I'm so glad we don't have that here!

Everyone's shots are just beautiful! I think it would be funny if we had some pictures of ourselves taking these pictures too!
