Photo challenge #102.....'Shades of Brown'. It's time for another color challenge, and this time of year there are lots of browns around, especially in nature. I tend to think of beige being a shade of brown, so you can use the whole gamut of browns. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

My photo was taken at the back of my yard, where there is an abandoned garden, that still has some herbs and weeds growing in it. I love the different shades of brown here.

Oh goodness - I was just thinking about colour challenges and how we hadn't had one for a while, and trying to remember what colours we had done. I always find them difficult but I think I already have an idea for this one!
Your photo looks just like one stretch when we walk along the canal...it's not as pretty as summer, but I think there's beauty to be seen here too.

Not what I am planning, just snapped these on my way down to the local shops.
I like the block shape of the hedge and the tree - should have moved back to get the tip of the tree, but I was already standing in the middle of the road.
And a detail of the hedge.
Great shot of the hedge. You also caught a variety of browns in the brick wall and roof of the building.
I was travelling on the freeway yesterday and saw so many browns along the side of the road, but of course, I couldn't stop!

Here is one of the two photos I had in mind. It's too cold for the other one, which would require rooting through my wool chest in a very cold room.
My cupboard is always well stocked with different grades of chocolate - here we have a 30% cocoa one, and a 60% and an 81% .
Well, on one of the rare occasions that I had my smaller camera with me, I came across this in an empty lot. I have no idea what desert plant that is but it's a bit strange looking.
Sabrina! How could you??? I've been trying so hard to limit my intake of sweets this week, and then you post a photo of enticing chocolate! Great shot BTW!
Audrey, I love your photos. That is indeed an unusual plant.....reminds me of pineapple.
Sharon, welcome. Great to see you on here. I'll be waiting for your photos. Anyone can post a photo on any of the challenges at any time.....no time limits!

The yarrow looks a whole lot prettier than my snow-capped sunflowers - I didn't even keep the shot. I love bare plants in the winter. You've reminded that I have a couple from a trip to a castle garden in early December.

Inspired by seeing Melissa's yarrow:
I don't really like hydrangeas, but I spent a long time looking at these dead ones when I was in Birr in early December.
I went to the zoo yesterday and this is my shades of brown though I really think it should be in the C challenge for Cutest ever. I have never ever seen a bunny this tiny, especially in the "wild". Hes was probably about the size of a baseball, so tiny, adorable and cute.
Sabrina, I showed your bare beauty photo to my daughter, the photographer. She thought it was awesome (so do I!)
Audrey, that bunny is so cute and cuddly. I do like rabbits, but they make an awful mess of my gardens! They love my early tulips and have totally destroyed all of my hybrid lilies, so I don't grow them anymore. the tulips are decreasing each year because of the damage, but I am letting them grow, for a treat for the bunnies when there isn't much else to eat.
WOW! some awesome shots from everyone! The baby bunny is adorable! Sabrina I love the bare beauty and the bird is sweet. Melissa I love that the snow is piled so high on the brown foilage that it looks like it will fall over any minute.
