Default #100 Bonus photo challenge

Here is our bonus photo challenge.......usually, we request that the photos submitted be photos taken after the challenge was posted, but this one will bring us back to some of our favorite pictures of the past. Lets see some fantastic photos from the past, whether it be from this year, last year, or even the distant past. Anything goes, as long as you love the photo!
To spice things up a bit, anyone who posts a photo will get a photo card and small prize. These cards are made by my SIL who is a very talented photographer. Just post a photo, and pm me your address and the card will be on it's way to you! I haven't had a chance to go through my own archive, so I won't add a photo to this posting. Have fun everyone! I'm looking forward to your submissions!

I have at least three I'd like to share, but I forgot to do anything about it while I was upstairs, and I can never get images from Picassa to embed properly, so it will be tomorrow.
Great idea, Ina!

This one has always been one of my favorites. I took it in Cologne, Germany during their Karneval. It was at the end of a parade and almost everyone had dispersed. I happened to see this couple and had just barely time to snap the camera when they left.

Well, here are a couple of favs. When you have grandkids, you have so many favourite pictures! The first one is of my middle grandson from Texas (10 at the time) just basking in delight at being in the snow! The second is of the youngest grandson showing his exuberance in the wading pool!

That snow one makes me smile - wonderful memory!

Here are a couple of mine.
The robin one simply for the magic feel of that little bird coming and eating from my hand - so light, if it weren't for the scratchy claws you'd hardly have felt it.

The grasses one is my current wallpaper on the upstairs PC, from the Botanic Gardens last autumn.

And two more. The heron with outstretched wings is my wallpaper on the downstairs PC, taken one evening just in the last of the sunlight.
The one eating the fish is just a favourite because although I've several times seen herons catching fish, it was the first time I actually managed to capture it. The first one was in the local park, the second one was actually very near work - at low tide there are shores along the edge of the river.

I never think of pampas grass being anyplace but the southwest US. Love those herons.

Oh - in my book there is WAY too much pampas grass over here. It's fine in a big setting like the Botanic Gardens, but you see little clumps of it in suburban gardens, sometimes in the centre of the lawn. I am sure it looks much, much better in your southwest!

Those Disney ones are wow - for me, who has never even been to Euro Disney. I don't think you can rotate an attachment, Jennifer, you'd have to rotate it first in your editing package.
DH would love that road - he has a thing for tree-lined roads.

Oh my goodness!! How in the world am I suppose to pick my favorite pictures? lol I've been looking and looking and can't narrow it down at all. Here are at least three but I have so many more! If you want to see more, feel free to friend me on Facebook (Amber Hillman, my avatar is of me sitting in the grass with what looks like flowers n trees behind me) as I have albums up there. Just make sure you write me a note that you are from SCS when you friend me, please, so I know "who" you are

#1. My youngest (2 at the time) in '08 at Hocking Hills. Love how the sun is hitting her hair.

#2. Cowboy Mounting Shooting competition in '09. Was hard to get good pictures in the barn cause of the smoke from the guns. But I love this shot cause you can see where he had previously fired. I have tons of great shots from this day.

#3. Has to be one of my favorites. This little spider was 'crawling' down to the table from the flower decorations at an outside wedding reception! I just happened to look up and there he was. Couldn't resist taking a picture. '09

I have to share this pictures with you. They were taken by my oldest daughter who is now 14 which means they were taken when she was anywhere from 10-13! She has such a good eye for photography. My camera will go missing and when it returns there are these pictures on it from photo shoots she has done in her bedroom or outside with her friends or siblings. These are just a few of my favs that she took.

#1. Little sis on big sis's bed.

#2. At the lake at sunset. She got tons of good shots that night.

#3. Reflection in sunglasses. (model is my middle daughter, Allie, 11 now, probably 10 in this picture)

Amber, she has an amazing eye, and also seems to be developing the skills! Did you photoshop the third photo, or did she?
btw.....did you know there are over 20 Amber Hillmans on facebook? I think it might be easier if you asked me to be a friend....I am Ina Eisen and there are only two of us on FB (I checked) Thanks.

She loves to play with the pictures when they are done. She doesn't have photoshop on her laptop, I forget what she uses.

LOL too funny. Guess I should have said my avatar is of me in the grass. I found you

Those are all fabulous, Amber. The rim-lighting on the hair in the first one, the atmosphere in the second. And your daughter's ones too - the sunset one is my favourite but I like the sunglasses one, and the portrait is full of character.
I am afraid I am determinedly avoiding Facebook - I already don't have enough time!

Ina, I have over 7000 pictures on my computer alone. How am I supposed to pick a favorite??

I'll just toss a couple up in honor of your #100 challenge! Congrats.

The first is an industrious bee working hard on a dandilion.

The second is sunset on the Gulf of Mexico, from Honeymoon Island.

The third is called Pelican Dreams. I took it in Florida as the sun set on the Gulf of Mexico.

This is my newest favorite. It is a sunrise that I took at Monument Valley in September. Two images, one over exposed and one underexposed were merged in Photoshop Elements 8. I had been having problems with my tripod and apparently when I changed one of the settings on my camera, the camera shifted ever so slightly and this is the end result. I enlarged to 11x14 and had it double matted and framed.

Audrey, that photo is amazing! I love it! I'm so glad you were able to frame it and look at it on your wall! Was this photo shopped at all, or is this just how you took it? I think you should enter it in a photo contest.

Audrey, that photo is breathtaking! That formation, or rather the two formations to the left are called the mittens...for obvious reasons. You'll see them in lots of old westerns. Just a gorgeous shot.

I'm glad you had that enlarged and framed - it is really worthy of hanging on your wall. A piece of art.
