Fabulously adorable, Susan!

I'm so behind on the posts that I can't catch up. Heading off to get the little boy in bed. He's been doing homework for almost 4 hours and he's only in 5th grade...what the heck!

Happy Shopping All!

Puppy is at the top of the steps, snoring away. Guess she's trying to tell me it's time for bed--which is amazing since I didn't walk her tonight after work since it was snowing when I got home.

OMG Leigh!!

When I was teaching 7th & 8th grade math I was TOLD I could not give more than 6 minutes of homework per evening - and the 8th graders were supposed to be getting high school credit for algebra! SIX minutes?!! that is not enough practice time for most... Seriously? And your 5th grader gets 4 hours?!! Is he in private school?

My DD got more homework in 5th & 6th grade than she did in 7th & 8th so when she became a freshman in high school....SURPRISE!! She found out again what homework was like. Now it's 4hrs every night as a sophmore.

Just enough to cover the grass and make traffic even worse than usual. We do not do snow well in the DC area! It'll be gone by tomorrow when it gets into the 50's. We had 70 degree weather on Saturday and today, we have snow. Gotta love it!

Is there a wishlist capability on the site? I don't always know the name of the sets and since the site isn't set up in categories I was wondering if I could put my wants in a wishlist format.

Oh, I ignored the principal (the union rep. said he could not order me how to teach). I am realistic - the kids in this school system only had math every OTHER day - which I think is a travesty - math is like a sport or a musical instrument - you need to practice it to master it, some more than others. I was realistic and fair. Usually 15-20 minutes a night on non-studying-for-a-test-or-quiz nights. It took some students a little less than that, some a little more. I thought that was reasonable, but SIX? For HIGH SCHOOL work? Come on!!

Nooo...public school. I do admit that I am here stamping and typing so he has been doing some TV...homework...TV...homework. But he had a lot. A whole math review packet - like 6 pages - 30 min. of reading - spelling - writing - a regular math page!

Also, will there be a winner for the Bingo Set Peek? Or was that already announced somewhere?
