Don't Quit
Author Unknown

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.

Default ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN LOVE

Hello .... thought I'd share this devotional with all of you.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth, and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”. (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Rooted and grounded here means “to build under you a deep and stable foundation of knowing and understanding the love of God to you.” In other words, the knowledge of God’s love to you is the foundational truth upon which all others truths must be built!

Christians who live in guilt, fear and condemnation are not “rooted and grounded” in the love of God. Our heavenly Father sent his Son to die for our sins and weaknesses. And without fully knowing and fully understanding that kind of love to you, you will never have a stable or permanent foundation!

“[That you] . . . may be able to comprehend . . . the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3:18-19). The Greek word for comprehend here suggests, “to eagerly seize or lay hold of.” The apostle Paul means for you to seize this truth and make it the foundation of your Christian life. He is telling you to put your spiritual hands out and say, “I am going to lay hold of this!”

It was hard to watch her fail. Physically, she was growing thinner and
more stooped. Mentally, she was losing her ability to sort out reality.
Initially, my grandmother had railed, angrily, against the symptoms of
Alzheimer's disease that were eroding who she had always been.

Eventually, the anger gave way to frustration and then resignation. My
grandmother had always been a strong woman. She had a career before it was common for women to have careers. She was independent. In her eighties, she was still dragging out her stepladder every spring to wash all the windows in her house. She was also a woman with a deep faith in God.

As my grandmother lost her ability to live alone, my father moved her into
his home. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were often in the house.
She seemed to enjoy being surrounded by the noise and activity of a large,
extended family.

As she slipped further away from us mentally, my grandmother would
occasionally have moments of lucidity when she knew where she was and
recognized everyone around her. We never knew what prompted those
moments, when they would occur, or how long they would last.

Toward the end of her life she became convinced that her mother had knit
everything she owned. "Mama knit my boots," she would tell strangers,
holding up a foot clad in galoshes. "Mama knit my coat," she would say
with a vacant smile as she zipped up her raincoat. Soon we were putting
on her boots for her and helping her zip up her coat.

During my grandmother's last autumn with us, we decided to take a family
outing. We packed up the car and went to a local fair for a day of
caramel apples, craft booths, and carnival rides.

Grandma loved flowers, so my dad bought her a rose. She carried it
proudly through the fair, stopping often to breathe in its fragrance.

Grandma couldn't go on the carnival rides, of course, so she sat on a
bench close by and waited while the rest of the family rode. Her moments
of lucidity were now a thing of the past having eluded her for months, but
she seemed content to sit and watch as life unfolded around her.

While the youngest members of the family ran, laughing to get in line at
the next ride, my father took my grandmother to the nearest bench. A
sullen-looking young woman already occupied the bench but said she
wouldn't mind sharing the bench. "Mama knit my coat," my grandmother told
the young woman as she sat down.

We didn't let my grandmother out of our sight, and when we came back to
the bench to get her, the young woman was holding the rose. She looked as
though she had been crying. "Thank you for sharing your grandmother with
me," she said. Then she told us her story. She had decided that day was to
be her last on Earth. In deep despair and feeling she had nothing to live for,
she was planning to go home and commit suicide. While she sat on that bench with Grandma, as the carnival noises swirled around them, she found herself pouring out her troubles.

"Your grandmother listened to me," the young woman informed us. "She told me about a time in her own life, during the Depression, when she had lost hope. She told me that God loved me and that He would watch over me and would help me make it through my problems. She gave me this rose. She told me that my life would unfold just like this rose and that I would be
surprised by its beauty. She told me my life was a gift. She said she would be praying for me."

We stood, dumbfounded, as she hugged my grandmother and thanked her for saving her life. Grandma just smiled a vacant smile and patted her arm.
As the young woman turned to leave, she waved good-bye to us. Grandma
waved back and then turned to look at us, still standing in amazement.

"Mama knit my hat," she said.

Sunday Funnies

Once there was a little boy who lived in the country. The family had to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it because it was so hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter and stank all the time. The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy was determined that one day he would push that old outhouse straight into the creek.

One day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen so the little boy decided today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. He Found a large stick and started pushing. Finally, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated away.

That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper. Knowing that meant a spanking, the little boy asked why. The dad replied, "Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It Was you, wasn't it son?"

The boy answered, yes. Then he thought a moment and said, "Dad, I read in school today that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn't get into trouble because he told the truth."

The dad replied, "Well, son, George Washington's father wasn't in the cherry tree!"

"Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in Me, and the peace of God will be with you." Philippians 4:9

A mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport.. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged, and the mother said, 'I love you, and I pray you enough.'

The daughter replied, 'Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I pray you enough, too, Mom.'

They kissed, and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by asking, 'Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?'

Yes, I have,' I replied. 'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?'

'Well...I'm not as young as I once was, she lives so far away & has her own busy life. I have some challenges ahead, and the reality is - her next trip back will be for my funeral,' she said.

'When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I pray you enough.' May I ask what that means?'

She began to smile. 'That's a prayer that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.' She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even more. 'When we said, 'I pray you enough,' we wanted the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.'

Then, turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I pray you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear..

I pray you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I pray you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I pray you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I pray you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I pray you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I pray you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

Then, she began to cry, and walked away.

THE GOOD-HUMOR HUMAN

"A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance." Proverbs 15:13

One of the most exciting sounds I can remember as a child was the jingle
jangle of the bell on top of the Good Humor Man truck. This was a good
name, because it put everyone in a good mood.

Have there been times when something seems so funny that you could not
help but laugh out loud. I have been in situations before where I could
not control my laughter. I love these times, for they have been
highlights of my life.

Years ago when I was on radio, one time I got so tickled by something that happened I could not stop laughing. I was practically on the floor crying, and laughing at the same time. The interesting thing is, I can't even remember what made me laugh – but after 40 years, how I remember that wonderful laughter.

Laughter makes your heart lighter, your day brighter, for it is a
wonderful gift from God. By looking on the lighter side, you are uplifted
and made happier as you go about living your daily life.

There is a healing power in laughter. Even something as simple as hearing
the joyful laughter of children can wipe away all traces of negativity
from your mind.

As you take this childlike joy into your heart, you react to situations
with a positive, good-natured attitude.

You greet the day with a twinkle in your eyes, a spring in your step, and
happiness that comes from knowing God's joy in your heart. You are
blessed with a gift of good humor.

I think about the qualities I most admire and appreciate in others, and I
have come to the conclusion that I like to be around people who have a
good sense of humor. I like people who can chuckle at life's
idiosyncrasies. I enjoy people who are considerate of the feelings of
others, and who express a happy spirit. People that can laugh at life are
pleasant and comfortable to be with. I admire people who are even
tempered, especially when I know they are facing some particular
challenge.

Today, you can become the person people admire and appreciate. You can
develop in yourself those qualities which we humans prize in others. You
strive to be a good friend to others, to follow the Golden rule, to be
life's goodwill ambassador. There are many opportunities to practice your
new skills, and you are ready to be the person you have always wanted to
be, to express your God-given ability to smile and laugh.

You are good humored!

Sunday Funnies

LETTERS TO THE PASTOR

The following are actual letters written to pastors from children across the country.

Dear Pastor,
I know God loves everybody but God never met my sister.
Yours sincerely,
Arnold. Age 8, Nashville, TN.

Dear Pastor,
Please say in your sermon that Peter Peterson has been a good boy all
week. I am Peter Peterson.
Sincerely,
Pete. Age 9, Phoenix, AZ.

Dear Pastor,
My father should be a minister. Every day he gives us a sermon about
something.
Robert Anderson, age 11, Washington D.C.

Dear Pastor,
I'm sorry I can't leave more money in the plate, but my father didn't give
me a raise in my allowance. Could you have a sermon about a raise in my
allowance?
Love,
Patty. Age 10, New Haven, CT.

Dear Pastor,
My mother is very religious. She goes to play bingo at church every week
even if she has a cold.
Yours truly,
Annette. Age 9, Albany, NY.

Dear Pastor,
I would like to go to heaven someday because I know my brother won't be
there.
Stephen. Age 8, Chicago, IL.

Dear Pastor,
I think a lot more people would come to your church if you moved it to
Disneyland.
Loreen. Age 9. Tacoma, WA.

Dear Pastor,
I liked your sermon where you said that good health is more important than
money but I still want a raise in my allowance.
Sincerely,
Eleanor. Age 12, Sarasota, FL.

Dear Pastor,
Please pray for all the airline pilots. I am flying to California
tomorrow.
Laurie. Age 10, New York City, NY

Dear Pastor,
I hope to go to heaven some day but later than sooner.
Love,
Ellen, age 9. Athens, GA.

Dear Pastor,
Please say a prayer for our Little League team. We need God's help or a
new pitcher.
Thank you.
Alexander. Age 10, Raleigh, NC.

Dear Pastor,
My father says I should learn the Ten Commandments. But I don't think I
want to because we have enough rules already in my house.
Joshua. Age 10, South Pasadena, CA.

Dear Pastor,
Who does God pray to? Is there a God for God?
Sincerely,
Christopher. Age 9, Titusville, FL.

Dear Pastor,
Are there any devils on earth? I think there may be one in my class.
Carla. Age 10, Salina, KS.

Dear Pastor,
I liked your sermon on Sunday. Especially when it was finished.
Ralph, Age 11, Akron, OH

Dear Pastor,
How does God know the good people from the bad people? Do you tell God or does God read about it in the newspapers?
Sincerely,
Marie. Age 9, Lewiston, DE.

Thank you my dear sweet friend. It is amazing that God had us out of town during the earthquake and hurricane here at home and then got us out of New Orleans when the big tropical storm hit them. God is good.

Talk is Cheap
“Make me an instrument of your peace,” we frequently sing, invoking the spirit of St. Francis. But we need to take it a step farther: Not only must we become instruments, but we must be active instruments. Talk, alone, is cheap.

Only lost some stuff in the freezer - grateful to the Lord that we had food to lose... so many others in this country and the world do not have food at all.

......God saw you getting tired & a cure was not to be. So, he put his arms around you & whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes, I watched & saw you pass away. Although I love you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the BEST~

HAPPY LABOR DAY TO ALL!!

THEY WHO TREAD THE PATH OF LABOR

~ Henry Van Dyke

They who tread the path of labor follow where My feet have trod;
They who work without complaining, do the holy will of God;
Nevermore thou needest seek Me; I am with thee everywhere;
Raise the stone, and thou shalt find Me, clease the wood and I am there.

Where the many toil together, there am I among My own;
Where the tired workman sleepeth, there am I with him alone:
I, the Peace that passeth knowledge, dwell amid the daily strife;
I, the Bread of Heav'n am broken in the sacrament of life.

Every task, however simple, sets the soul that does it free;
Every deed of love and mercy, done to man is done to Me.
Nevermore thou needest seek Me; I am with thee everywhere;
Raise the stone, and thou shalt find Me; cleave the wood, and I am there.

Thank you for all of the wonderful encouragement. You are a wonderful blessing to all of us who visit this site. I thank God for you. This is my absolute favorite scripture from the Message Bible:
Romans 8:38-39
I'm absolutely convinced that nothing - nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.

This is the lyricas to a song that reminds me of you. My prayer is that all will be an example of God's love.

Give Yourself Away
By New Song
Album: Give Yourself Away

When you find someone in trouble
And you don't know what to say
The best thing you can do for them
Is to give yourself away
Lend a hand to lift the broken
Let your heart break when God's heart breaks
Speak up for those who have no voice
And give yourself away
Give yourself away
Be the hands and feet of Jesus
Give yourself away
Go out and make a world of difference
Let this be the day you see how far His love reaches
The greatest sacrifice of all
Is to give yourself away
Jesus saw us in our suffering
He saw the debt that sin had made
And on that cruel and fateful cross
He gave himself away
Jesus knew what love would cost Him
A price that only He could pay
And though they ridiculed and spat on Him
He gave Himself away
So don't hold back
Don't hold on
For someone else to come along
The time is now
It's up to us

GOD'S "PHONE" NUMBER

Hello God, I called tonight
To talk a little while
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,
My family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall.. !!!!!!!

Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.
So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You, too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

P.S. Please bless all my friends and family too.

we all need sheltering trees
friends in our lives who'll get down on their knees
and lift us up before the king of kings
we all need sheltering trees
there've been days that i was sure that i couldn't make it through
clouds of doubt came rolling in and i didn't know what i would do
i would've given in and said i just can't go on
if it hadn't been for a friend that helped me to be strong
it's been said a friend is like a mighty sheltering tree
a place of refuge we can run when trouble comes for you and me
someone we can count on through the thick and thin
when the storms of life are blowing, there's
just nothing like a friend
you can face the highest mountain and
the climb won't feel so high
or cross the darkest valley and it won't seem so wide
nothing is impossible when a friend is by your side

Hope this will be encouraging for the day...

The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal
fulfillment, peace of mind, or even your happiness. It's far
greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest
dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on
this planet, you must begin with God. You were born BY his
purpose and FOR his purpose.

Today Bible Verse:
Psalm 46:1-3
God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in seastorm and earthquake, Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God of angel armies protects us.

The arms of God are big enough to totally encompass us in times of fear, discourgement, anger or anything else you may be facing today. Won't you run to our father and hide in his arms?

"When the power of love, overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace" 'Jimi Hendrix'

Saying Grace In A Restaurant

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, 'God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert.. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!'

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, 'That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!'

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, 'Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?'

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said, 'I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.'

'Really?' my son asked.

'Cross my heart,' the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), 'Too bad she never asked God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.'

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life..

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman.. With a big smile he told her, 'Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already.'

The End

I love this story!
Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

I hope God sends you some Ice Cream today!

Default The "Don't Quit" poem

The poem in post #2481 is by Edgar Guest. Hunted it up online because I thought I recognized his style from the old Ideals magazines. Here is the full version...

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must but Don't You Quit!

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up through the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup
And he learned too late when the night came down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem the worst
That You Mustn't Quit!

Wishing everyone a blessed day!

Seal of Approval
I may fancy myself a poet,
But I know that I'm not the best;
For I'm not a Helen Steiner Rice
Or the equal of Edgar Guest . . .

But I write down the words He gives me,
And I ask Him before I start
To please bless all my stumbling efforts,
To please speak to a listening heart.

I don't care much for fame and fortune,
I don't care for the world's reward;
I don't want to be rich and famous,
What I want is to please my Lord.

Let the others seek pomp and grandeur,
The whole world and its gold I'd shun;
It's success AFTER death, I'm after,
Just these two words from Him: "Well done!"

~ Connie ~

"...Well done, good and faithful servant...
enter into the joy of the Lord."
(Matthew 25:21)

The Eternal Traveler
We must never forget that there is one Traveler who accompanies all of us during every moment of our lives, whether we are aware of His presence or not. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Shepherd, guides us on our journey out of nothingness.

God Will Go With You

Do you sometimes feel so all alone,
And wish someone would call you on the phone?
Are there days when you wonder why you are here
And why your heart's so full of fear?

Do you think no one else has felt that way
And that all the others are having a great day?
What you're thinking may be true,
But chances are, others are feeling just like you.

Ask God to undertake for you,
To show you what He'd have you do.
There may be someone you should touch,
Someone who needs you very much.

God has a reason for you being here
And He can overcome your fear.
Go to Him, boldly, in Christ's name.
He'll take away your guilt and shame.

He'll lead you into the bright sunshine
And show to you His will divine.
Just follow Him with what you know.
He'll teach you more and with you go.

You can know He's with you every day,
Leading and guiding you along life's way;
Giving you peace and joy within,
Forgiving and cleansing you from your sin.

So, don't give up and don't despair.
God will go with you everywhere.
Christ understands the way you feel.
His fellowship and love are real.

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do.. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you . But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God

May God bless all the families who continue to mourn their love ones lost that horrible day on September 11, 2001.

Terror and tragedy have made us more aware of our
vulnerabilities and mortality ... We're living through a time of
testing and consequence, and pray that our wisdom and will are
equal to the work before us.

TURN IT OVER TO GOD

When you feel your heart is breaking
Your very soul within is aching
You know not what to do or where to turn
Turn it over to God for peace you yearn

He will take you into His loving embrace
Comforting you in the problems you face
Leave your burdens with the one who cares
All your disappointments He always shares

Soon the sun will again shine bright for you
When the truth of His love comes shining through
Tomorrow is another day, in which to give Him praise
Remember to keep praying, He will help clear your daze.

Observations On Growing Older

~Your Kids are becoming you...and you don't like them...but your grandchildren are Perfect!

~Going Out is good.. Coming Home is better!

~You Forget names ...... But it's OK because other people forgot they Even knew you!!!

~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... Especially Golf.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.

~You sleep better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than in bed. It's Called "pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" Switch..

~You tend to use more 4 letter words ... "what?"..."when?".... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody Whispers.

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet ..... 2 of which you will never wear.

~~~But Old is good in some things: Old songs, Old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!
A TEACHER’S PRAYER
by James Dillet Freeman
Good Master, I, a teacher too,
Need greatly to be taught by You.
I have to study and to know,
I may help my students grow.
I would be clear to help them learn;
I would have fire to make them burn
To know; whatever else is taught,
Let me teach most of the love of thought.
I pray to keep good discipline,
And pray to have it first within;
I would know when to drive or draw,
To praise or to point out the flaw,
To overlook or make demands:
Give me a mind that understands.
Let me see in each unformed youth
Our human hope of good and truth
And let me make him or her want to be
The perfect person that I see.
STUDENT PRAYER
Help me to be curious
about the world around me.
Help me to be prepared
for the challenges I face each day.
Help me to be open
to difficult tasks.
Help me to be determined
to complete my work.
Help me to be responsible
in all I do.
Help me to be accepting
of peoples differences.
Help me to be kind
in my thoughts and words.
Help me to be aware
of my talents.
Help me to be myself,
to be the best that I can be.
