A sweet old lady is asked to say Grace at a gathering of "Seniors at Home" caregivers, and she brought down the house about 90 seconds into her prayer.
Enjoy!

Sorry I've been missing for a while. I've been in a slump lately. All I want to do is play computer games after work. It must be the weather. Or it could be that I miss the girls so much. I need to win the lottery so I have money to visit them whenever I get the urge. We had a little skiff of snow last week and a couple mornings I had to turn hte heat on since it was only 20. It's been windy the last couple days and now we're in a high wind advisory. It rained a little today. I should be outside raking leaves but my allergies have been acting up. I was hoping they would have settled down after the first freeze but no such luck. I don't know the last time I made a card. I think it's been more than a month.

Joan, so sorry for your loss.

Have a blessed week, everyone.

Debbie - it is way too early to have snow. At least here. But I do remember seeing snowflakes in October. We've had our heat on already, too. Didn't want to but hubby thought 58 degrees getting out of bed was too cold. I think it's only been on twice - just to warm up the house that morning.

I've been having some down days, too. Being very tired and lots of allergy issues, too. I did do some stamping tho - finally!

I have an awesome son. he went to the funeral to represent me. then picked me up after work and brought me to visit with my family for the luncheon afterwards.

I am off for the next 5 days. DH my sister and her DH are going to Branson, MO. I need some RR. We don't always get along with her DH. But are planning to just go with the flow! See you when I get back. Take care of yourselves. Hugs

Joanne, your DH wouldn't survive here if he thinks 58 is cold enough to turn the heat on. It warmed up a bit here so was able to turn the heat off. However, I really need it to freeze and stay cold for a few days. I now have a sinus infection and feel miserable. I left work early the last couple days. Did make it through this afternoon. I'm glad I have the next couple days off so I can do nothing but rest. Maybe I'll even get some stamping done. I am so far behind on all of my cards for this year.

Hello friends, my daughter had surgery yesterday and all went well. We were able to have Alexander stay overnight with us which is always a treat. He loves going the jr. naval academy and is 100% gungho military.

Tomorrow is Conrad's 5th birthday - goodness the time goes by quickly.

No you did not miss it - I just found out myself the day before when I talked to Alexander about coming to visit us. Am very grateful that she was given general anesthesia, they were thinking of doing 'twilight' because of her heart surgery many years ago.

Thanks

Hello, ladies it has been a rough year for me and it has taken another turn. DH and I will be getting divorced and a piece of me is so sad and another piece is relieved. But just lots of questions and issues trying to put the pieces together for when the divorce is complete and forwhen I tell him he has to move out of the house. DH has been cheating and prayers for peace for DD and for her and her dad to reconcile. . .

Oh Michelle having been where you are, my heart truly goes out to you and can understand what you are feeling. My ex loved women and drinking and our daughter was only four when I said enough is enough - we were living overseas when all of this happened. Please know I am here for you and you can call on me anytime. Again, our guest room is always available. Trusting and believing the Lord will still turn all of this around for good for you and your DD.

Wow, what a way to end the year, Michele. I am so sorry. You know we're all here for you. Like Joan, I have no advice for you except to keep trusting God will get you through this. Hang in there, Sweetie.

Michele - I am so very sorry. Another friend just told me he and his wife are divorcing as well. I will certainly increase my prayers for you and your family. I've been told I'm a good listener as well. I think we are all here for you, sweet friend.

HUGS.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

A Halloween Fairy Tale

There lived a man who was very unhappy because he was deeply
in love with a girl who didn't know he was alive. In
desperation, he visited a coven of witches who lived nearby
and presented his case before them.

Touched by his tale of woe, and impressed with the young
man's appearance, manner, and bearing, they decided to help
him. They worked their magic and eventually presented the
young man with several small objects that looked like
capsules. "Bury these under the window of your beloved under
a full moon and she will love you," they instructed.

Doubtful, the young man resolved nevertheless to do as the
witches instructed. On the very next full moon, he
stealthily made his way over to his beloved's house and
carefully buried the capsules in the rich loam beneath her
window. Nothing happened right away, but, trusting the
wisdom of the old ladies, he went home to see what the next
day would bring.

The next morning, he walked hopefully over to the girl's
house and rang her doorbell. She opened the door, saw it was
him, and grabbed him. She hugged him, kissed him, and
invited him in for lunch. Their courtship was short but
passionate, and within a month they were happily married.

Late one night after they had been married, the young man
visited the coven again. "I just want to thank you ladies
for your help. My life is everything I could have desired."

"No problem, dearie," said one of the old ladies. "After
all, nothing says lovin' like something from the coven, and
pills buried says it best."

Cute, Cat.

We dressed up at work today. We had 3 witches, a devil and a Mad Hatter. It was fun. One witch, my boss, brought her dog, Daisy, who is on of my best buds. The devil brought her little dog, too. For some reason, as soon as I walked in the door, Daisy and Daphne both wanted me to pick them up. I had my hands full, but they didn't care. I haven't see Daphne since she was just a very little puppy. Here's a picture of us. I'm not hard to pick out. I'm the shortest witch with the lovely, colorful hair.

I have unload here. How would you feel if your sister, who lives in the same town, sends you an email inviting you to a baby shower for Baby Girl Ehlert but doesn't mention the parents names? My sister sent me this email earlier this week. No one bothered to tell me that my nephew and his new wife are expecting a baby and is due Dec. 6. I feel like I wasn't important to be told this news much ealier. It wasn't like I haven't seen her in the past few months. She just assumed I knew. My two sisters have a great way of making me feel like I don't belong in the family, except at Christmas. If feel like if it wasn't for my dad I'd like to write them off. They have done this to me for so many years you'd think I'd get used to it, but it hurts real bad. I'm not close to my brother, either. If I tell my sisters how I feel, I'm made to look like a whiny child. If I didn't live here it probably wouldn't bother me much, but I'll never get Vince to move away. I'd like to move a lot closer to my girls. I keep telling myself to just let it go but I'm tired of looking like a fool. That's just how they make me feel. The sad thing is that ever since we couldn't go to my nephew's wedding because of the van breaking down, they seem to be a little cold towards us. Vince was supposed to be the main photographer, but there wasn't anything we could do. Everybody else left town a couple days before we could leave so couldn't catch a ride with them. We don't have bus service from here so that was out of the question.

BTW, Michele posted on facebook that she's still without power. Sandy was a nasty storm.

Please do remember to vote tomorrow. Keep those election judges busy so they don't have time to get bored. I can attest to how boring it is sitting at the polls for 14+ hours and only a few voters show up to vote.

I agree I have so few friends from H.S. now it's like I can't believe we grew up in the same area and have such different beliefs! I have been un-friended a few times but that's OK!

I will definitely vote. It is a right and a privilege.

Hey Michele, just remember how people "un-friend" Jesus so wear it like a badge of honor.

Someone I went to elementary school & keep touch of FB tried today to engage me in an argument about my pro-life position. Just said as friends we will have to agree to disagree... of course, that was not good enough. God bless my friend anyway. She is deceived as I once was.

Debbie - I feel for you. And we were in a similar situation, although we lived away from the family. It was my husband's family. We weren't told that my MIL had a stent put in (we found out visiting COUSINS in CALIFORNIA!), we weren't told about BIL going into rehab, we weren't told about other BIL's father passing away. We were never told anything. If we didn't call them, they didn't call us. It was very frustrating and it does make you feel like an outsider. I am very sorry. Vent away.

I voted after I dropped Julie at school. There were about five of us there. It was VERY BUSY early this morning. One of the officials said there was a line as they opened this morning. I'm sure a lot of people voted before they went to work. That was my husband's plan. I didn't notice if he had signed the sheet though!

We voted with a pen and paper today. Old school! LOL

Michele - glad you are okay after the storm. It was COLD this morning. I was up at 5 to let the dog out and it was 22 degrees! YIKES!

Hi everyone! One of my coworkers brought me to vote after work. he is such a sweet older gentleman. He didn't want me to walk the mile each way in the rain. when we have rain voter turnout is generally light. Today was quite busy.

I'm an election judge and was prepared for it to be slow at times. I was going to work on my Christmas cards, had them ready to put together. I even had a book to read. Well, we were steady enough that I didn't even take my stuff out of the bag to work on the cards. It took most of the day to read two chapters. This is the first election I worked that we didn't have a lot of down time. It sure made the day go by a lot faster. It makes for a very long day when you have to sit around for at least 14 hours. We had beautiful weather today, according to a lot of voters. We can't leave the premises so none of us would know. We were set up in the high school gym with no windows.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week.
