We haven't had snow yet, but we are in a winter storm warning with predicted snow of 10-12 inches on the plains and up to 20 inches in the mountains. I sure do hope the storm blows over us. With the winds we've been having, it's a possibility.
It was a day from h**l for taxes today. My first appointment didn't even show up or call. My third appointment showed up half an hour late because she thought her appointment was at 11:30 instead of 11:00. I was just getting ready to leave for lunch when she showed up. If she'd been 5 minutes later, she would have missed me. After lunch I went to log in and found out our remote server we use went down and no one knew how long it was going to take to fix it. My client at that time lives 23 miles away and had someone give her a ride so she said she would wait to see if the server came back on. Finally, it came back on before next appointment which made me almost an hour behind. However, I got my 2:00 person in and out just before my 3:00 so got back on track. I was so glad to get out of there and come home. Hopefully next week will be better.
It's 30° and snowing here. Supposed to snow all day and maybe tomorrow. It would be a good day to stay home and study and stamp. But I have to go to work. At least I get off early. Then I plan to hibernate until I have to take Lexi to story time tomorrow morning. Lexi loves the snow. She was running and jumping in it this morning and forgot why she really went outside first thing this morning. I'm glad one of us is enjoying the snow.
Sitting here is not getting ready for work. I don't want to leave home. Have a good day.
Stayed up last night and typed DS's stuff for confirmation, have it all together now am glad it's done. Am going into the shop for an overhall!!! Need color BAD!!! Star of David is huge in my bangs and makes me feel 1,000,000. Like all those attractive creaks and groans don't do that all by themselves. Assembled the last of a few cards, have 2 left to color. Need to work on laundry tonight too,...JOY!!! Rain, rain go away!!! What to do.
Michele, the boys are still plucking away, will do lessons again this summer I think.
Debbie, forgot to ask if Lexi loved you up after your miserable day yesterday???
Joan,How are things??? You havent washed away with all the rain? Well better then snow.
Oh I am feeling crappy! I think I must be PMS, cause I am hyper emotional right now and DD gets in trouble at school and she tries to bounce back on me, cause I allowed them to keep her today for detention. I am sure she wanted to pick the day, and it's her first one ever but boy I am not in the mood for her mood! I just want to take a break and cry! ugghh!!
Thank you ladies, your posts made me smile! Made me feel more normal - thank you! Sometimes having an only child is hard - just cause I have nothing or no one else to gauge it against, but I do try hard!
I took her to the gym we worked out not together but I think it helped vent her frustration she worked out hard and then opened up at least and we hugged it out. Parenthood is not easy! My poor mom, I still use her for help. She swears I am not a headache, but I don't know about that! lol,
I took Lexi to story time at the library today. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved her and she loved them. One little boy tripped over my foot while I was trying to get up off the floor and hit his head on a crate. I felt so bad because he was behind me and I couldn't stop his fall. When his mom picked him up he had to hug Lexi to feel better. He couldn't have been older than 1-1/2. He was so cute. Everyone got to pet her and some of them were telling me about there dogs. Then Lexi decided it was time to get out there and run in the snow. I'm thinking I might have to get her a small slide this summer. She loves sliding down the ice hills in our backyard.
Carol - I am so very, very sorry. Expecting the loss doesn't make it any easy. Will be praying for you.
Debbie - so glad you are loving Lexi. She is so adorable!!! How big will she get?
Michele - we are getting rain. One of my cousins lives in the Poconos and they already have 6 inches of snow. And I don't think this is supposed to stop until tomorrow.
I didn't sleep more than an hour Monday night and then last night I didn't sleep at all. I took a three hour nap this morning. I feel a little better. I'm so glad I didn't have anything happening this morning so I could nap.
carol- thinking of you and sending hugs.
Debbie- Lexi sounds like a fun dog.
Michele- We have been getting snow since 10PM. First it was rain then sleet then snow which is still coming down. Many accidents and school closing near the Twin Cities.
Ok, so last night DD freaked out cause we couldn't find Yogi. Out of the two ferrets Yogi is the escape artist. She is so SOFT and gentle but very clever. She broke out of the cage and DD's door was not closed all the way so Yogi was hiding out in my room she found a few beads. She was playing while Boo Boo was just sleeping - that ferret when he is sleeping forget it nothing else matters. But DH & her were yelling cause the bird was out but don't you know the bird says so sweetly "come on boo come on out" so he thinks they are both boo boo. He sounded just like my DH too funny! The animals make for some entertainment at least.
So down 5.5 lbs so far I know it's slow but gotta hold on and keep doing it - it takes a lot of work - but happy with the program at least.
Michele, you're losing at a good rate. I've been told losing 1-2 lbs. a week is the best. Joanne is right about the slower it takes to lose it, the longer it takes to put it back on. I gained at the beginning of the month, but did lose 1-3/4 lbs. so far this week. I guess chasing a puppy around keeps me more active. When I take Lexi outside, I pace on sidewalk until she's done with her business. I'm shifting a section of books today and tomorrow so I'm getting plenty of exercise at work. Beats sitting at the circulation desk for 3 hrs. I think all the rearranging will be done when I'm done with that project. For a couple years anyway.
Hi, Ruth Ann. How are you?
How is everyone else? It's been pretty quiet around here lately.
Happy Friday to all! The sunny is shining and I am on spring break until April 4th. I had a great week at work. My boss was gone and the days were laid back. Yes, I did get all my work done and even had fun! After break, my micromanaging boss will be back. DH and I will be gone most of next week. I will be thinking about all of you.
I am so glad it's Friday. Too bad it isn't pay day Friday. It's cold here but snow. The wind is bitter. Timber won't go ouside unless we drag him out. He hates the wind. Lexi doesn't care what the weather is. As long as I'm outside with her, she's happy.
I'm going to do as much stamping as I can this weekend. I'm going to "Fiddler On The Roof" with my SIL tonight. Our local theater group usually puts on some good plays and musicals.
Wow! Didn't realize it had been a week since I last posted. Haven't been reading up every day, so I have to catch up. Forgive me if I miss anything important.
Carol ~ As I said on FB, my prayers are with you and your family. I'm so sorry for your loss. A close friend of mine lost his father last Sunday. It has been a sad week. Please know that your sweet mother is no longer in pain, is very proud of you, and knows how much you love her.
Ruth Ann ~ I'VE MISSED YOU!!! Hope you can fight those germs off.
Gramma ~ You'd better watch out. I might come steal Lexi away from you! She's so cute and cuddly, and sounds like a sweetheart! Hope you enjoyed Fiddler! That's one of my favorites.
Michele ~ I really want to visit you sometime and experience your animal menagerie! I sent a RAK today, but probably already have the SAB set you're giving away. Please give it to someone who doesn't have it. You are so sweet and generous! Keep up the good work with the weight loss!
Joan ~ Glad you're getting a break from your boss. Have a good time with your DH, wherever you're going!
Barbi ~ Did you burn a match yesterday??? I made six cards yesterday afternoon. Granted, they were all the same pattern, but I used different DSPs. I think (hope) I'm getting motivated to fill my new card rack.
Hello and hugs to all not mentioned!
We haven't had any precipitation lately, but it has gotten cold again. In the 30s right now, and very windy. I feel for you northerners.
Do any of you have a good way of organizing your patterned papers? My demo usually sells 6"x6" samples of each design, and I have a LOT of them.
Well, I've lost 20 lbs since 1/15, although most of it was right at first. Now I'm losing about 1 lb per week. I've gone down two sizes in my jeans, and that feels really good. It's hard work, but becoming routine now. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it off.
I'd better get moving before this chair sucks me in.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Sorry, Sue. You'll have to stand in line with everyone else who wants to steal Lexi from me. I don't think she'll go for it, though. She's definitely attached to me. I really enjoyed Fiddler. The cast was great. They definitely deserved the standing ovation they got.
It's been cold here again. We get excited when it gets into the 30's. Not supposed to be this cold the end of March. Sure hope it warms up soon. I can't afford the high heating bill much longer. It does give me a good excuse to stay home and stamp.
Sue, have you been using your Silhouette? If you haven't, you really need to get busy with it. I found an image with a caboose carrying the name Ben. We just happen to have a great nephew named Ben and his 4th birthday was yesterday. His party with the family is tonight. I made his card using that cutout. I better get it scanned and uploaded before I give it to him.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Stay warm and dry.
Sue, if you go into your Silhouette software, click on the online store. Every week they give a free shape download. I usually download it even if I don't particularly like it. You never know when you might be able to use it and free is free.
