Several months ago I posted the request here for RAK's for a friend and neighbor with ovarian cancer. You all came through with flying colors once before and she really needs your thoughts and prayers again.
Lynn and her husband were told yesterday that it is time to get her affairs in order, call hospice, and plan for the worst. She does not have much time.
So, once again I am asking for your thoughts and prayers, and any message of faith and encouragement you could send her way would be greatly appreciated. She is a very special lady, I know it would mean the world to her.
You guys are the best!
Thank you all.
One of the newest members to my Stampin group has been fighting ovarian cancer for quite awhile. She was in remission and doing great but she just found out that the cancer is back. She started chemo again this week. She is a relatively new stamper and has soooo much appreciation for hand stamped cards. I know some prayers and words of encouragement would go a long way in keeping her spirits up to face this next round of chemo. Any RAK's sent her way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!
Her name and address:
14713 Beaufort Circle
Naples, FL 34119
Thanks Carol! Another New Englander! (Born and raised in Mass, Lived in Portsmouth NH for two years BUT spent 13 years in Granby CT before reluctantly moving to FL 3 years ago...all three of my boys born in CT!)
I saw Lynn on Friday night and she is doing well. She mentioned all of the beautiful cards she has been receiving this week from all over the country and was overwhelmed! They have gone a long way to boost her spirits and keep her focused on getting better. Thank you all so much for making a very special ladies day a little brighter!
Thank you Judy and Jan! If she is feeling up to it, Lynn will be joining us for Stamp Camp next Friday night. She has promised to bring all of the beautiful cards she has received from around the country to share with our group. I can't wait to see them all in person!
You have all brightened her days the last few weeks. Thank you all so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to make her feel like she has the prayer and support she needs to beat this again.
Hugs to you all.
Thank you all so much. Lynn will not be able to make Stamp Camp tomorrow night as a procedure yesterday has put her out of commission for a few days. Your prayers and well wishes are a huge source of encouragement and support for her. Hugs to you all!
Sorry I have been out of the loop for a few weeks. Thank you all for your concern. Lynn came to Stamp Camp last month but made it an early night as she was just too tired to make it through all of the projects. She is in good spirits and looks fabulous, just tired. I will see her again this weekend and will try to update you again. Please keep those cards of encouragement coming. She is so excited every time she gets a new one in the mail and as a fairly new stamper she marvels at all of the talented and compasionate stampers out there!
Thank you all again for your concern.
I received this note in my mailbox this morning. For those of you that have sent cards of encouragement to this gutsy lady, they are working! The power of prayer and human kindness can work wonders....
GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS AND FAMILY. JUST DROPPING A QUICK NOTE.
FOR ANY OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING THE LAST FEW MONTHS:
I HAD SOME NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE FROM THE LAST CHEMO I WAS ON--------A VERY, VERY RARE SIDE EFFECT. IT CAUSED IMBALANCE. AT THE BEGINNING IT WAS VERY PRONOUNCED, BUT NOW IT ONLY MANIFESTS WHEN I AM TIRED. AN EVEN THEN, IT IS MINOR COMPARED TO THE START.
AS A RESULT, CHEMO HAD TO BE STOPPED. 2 MONTHS LATER I BEGAN A COURSE OF RADIATION. TODAY WILL BE NUMBER 12 OF 20. THE RADIATION ONCOLOGIST IS TOTALLY CONFIDENT THAT THE GRAPEFRUIT - SIZE TUMOR THAT HAS BEEN CAUSING SO MANY PROBLEMS WILL BE GONE. AND THE KIDNEY STENT CAN BE REMOVED----YEAHHHH !!!
I AM HAPPY AND HEALTHY. ALL IS GOING VERY WELL. OUR SPIRITS WERE EVEN MORE LIFTED WHEN THE PARANEOPLASTIC BLOOD TEST RESULTS CAME BACK SAYING NO CANCER CELLS IN THE BRAIN. THIS WAS SUCH GOOD NEWS. IN OUR HEARTS WE KNEW THIS WOULD BE THE RESULT, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS THE NAGGING TINY DOUBT THAT IF THE DOCTORS SUSPECTED IT THERE MUST BE A REASON.
SO, WE ENTER THIS FOURTH CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH HOPE AND PEACE. WE KNOW MORE THAN EVER THE GIFT OF LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME. AT EACH "BUMP IN THE ROAD" WE HAVE OUR PERIOD OF FEAR AND SADNESS----THEN WE PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP IN TREATMENT.
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AT THIS BLESSED SEASON. YOUR PRAYERS ARE WHAT CARRIES US.
LYNN AND MIKE
Thank you all so much for your kindness. Please keep those cards coming! Wishing you all the Merriest of Holidays and a Happy & Healthy New Year!
