another update on edward:
he was able to get into sitting position by himself for the first time yesterday.PTL
he is not strong enough yet to get off the bed to the floor by himself but soon i believe it will happen.
another miracle happened in our financial situation.he had disability to cover his salary if he was injured.i filed the papers with the company and turns out i used an old policy number ,which they corrected without even notifying us ,and sent the check in 11 days after they received the paperwork.so with that i will be ok for 2 more weeks when i should receive my social security check on the 23rd.insurance companies usually want more info and everything done perfect before they pay out so i know the Lord took care of it all.
i told edward yesterday that he has to hurry up and get stronger cause bill paying is HIS job lol. br3n
Praising God for every miracle, Brenda! I put those on my prayer list under "Answers to prayers not yet prayed!" because God took care of it before you had a chance to worry or ask....he's done that many times for me.
Brenda- praise the Lord.
update on DH'd niece; she is still in a coma. However, the drs expected a good outcome. The family is hoping to move her closer to home. She is currently, about 3 hours away.Asking for prayers for my DH's dad. he is not doing well. He went to the urologist today. The DR wanted him to be hospitalized. He went home because he knew that his wife, DH's mom, will not be able to take care of herself.
smileyj: prayers going up.it is sweet when they care for the spouse that much but it does complicate things at times.at one point MIL and FIL were in 2 different nursing homes.he had to go to a hospice one because he was losing the battle. then he insisted on coming home to die.will pray for the Lord to work His will.

Update on dh's niece. She is awake. She punctured a lung, broke some ribs, perforated the wall of the stomach and uterus. The drs hope to move her out of ICU tomorrow.
Isn't it amazing how life is a roller coaster ride. My husband fell and twisted his ankle at work. My daughter called and has to have surgery on Wednesday. Her home is 4 hours away and I am taking off work to be with her. I just took on more work so that my husband can retire in a couple of years. It takes extra time to get it organized and running smoothly so I am behind. I volunteer for a non-profit and it is that time of year that I am head of the Christmas project. Reservations for 600 families begins tomorrow and I need to organize the paperwork and send them emails. I have posted on this site before and then all things work out. Now I am back again. The positive is that I hit bottom and head up the other side and things are good for a while.
staceysmom: prayers going up for guidance for you and directions for the maze.it does seem to hit in bunches at times and God always comes thru for us.praying for your daughter's surgery and husband's ankle

Goodness, your plate is overflowing. Trusting the Lord for healing for your husband and for your daughter as well as strength and wisdom for you.
staceysmom- praying for you, your DH and daughter, That is a lot going on in one person's life.
Update on DH's niece- The neurologists told the family she had a stroke during the long surgery. She is in an out of consciousness. Please continue your prayers. I am certain that God listens.
Dr Rodriguez's called said he just got some tests back on Ashley and that he can use her fibula for Tyler's jaw except that he will have to drain all the blood from Tyler and separate the plasma from it; then put it back in Tyler. This will make Tyler really sick and weak and that he was afraid to try it now. Dr Rodriguez's wants Tyler's dad to donate his fibula to Tyler. We will be taking Richie up for all the testing this Wednesday and will be in Maryland four days total trip. Richie's blood type is the same as Tyler's, and will work but but Richie is scared of being put to sleep. He is going to do this or i will never forgive him most dads will give their lives for their children, so and i really think Richie loves Tyler enough to do this.
This makes more things to worried about, baby sitters for the boys because Dr Rodriguez said he wants Ashley there with Tyler and me there with Ashley. That leaves papa George and three little boys, papa had a stroke years ago and I don't know if he can handel all the boys.
Gees what next. i know in my heart it will all work out, Tyler's surgery is still Nov-28th. I sure wish they would take my fibula I would gladly give Tyler both legs if i could.
Looks like I may have to have all the kids there at rmd house at least I can check on them if they are with us. This is not final decision, maybe something else will come up. I'm praying.
I all so want to thank Johnson and Johnson for there generous donation and Tooth Dr2898. There are so many nice things been done for Tyler and our family and no matter how large or small we are so great full for your help.
Tyler loves the snail mail and every bit of money sent is in his account for his medical needs, gets larger with each trip. You can help us out by donations, and prayers for this sweet 11 year old boy.
We are running out of options. Know that you are helping to keep Tyler alive.
God is with us and I will keep my faith and trust in Him.
I KNOW GOD IS HEARING MY CRIES AND WILL PULL TYLER THROUGH THIS.
I'm hoping to get everything here and ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas before we leave to go to Maryland on the twenty seventh of Nov. for this long six eight weeks at the University of Maryland.
Tyler's grandpa Lynn will be watching out for my dogs and making sure things are OK here at home.
Once again please let your kids know every day you love them
and know that we love and appreciate you all so much.
Say a prayer for me I need it

update on DH's niece from her mom: We were able to bring her home today but she is in a lot of pain from a torn ligament in her shoulder and the abdominal surgery. She is also very frustrated because of her memory loss. Tomorrow is going to be all about finding a physical therapist & neurological doctor. Because of the stroke, her doctor at the hospital wants an additional cat scan. She has an artery that is almost closed so will need a stint but not till she is stronger. Keep up the prayers, she still needs a lot of them.

Joan, sending prayers - this must be extremely difficult. My daughter had a stroke when she was 30. The doctors painted a very grim picture but God answered prayers and she graduated from law school and is running her own business today. Trusting God to keep your DH's niece in His powerful healing hands.

Brenda- praying for you and Edward. The situation must be extremely stressful!
One of my SILs was just diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. My brother, her husband, dies form the same lung cancer in 2006. The drs have given her 6 months. If she does chemo and radiation probably a year. She is trying to decide what to do. Yes, both of them are/were smokers.
Hi everyone,
Have not been checking in much. Feeling very overwelmed with my dad's recovery from his lawnmower accident, and my mom needs my help. Kids activities have increased this summer. I run everyday for my youngest child's therapy sessions, school and we have CCD, scouts meetings, etc... every night just about. I have felt so run down, that I am sick now. I am trying to catch up with everyones prayer requests. It has been since the end of Aug. I think since I have checked in. I have read a few e mails, and I will, in general, say a prayer for everyone asking for God's healing hand for them, or their loved ones. My dear SIL just had a kidney transplant, and it is only working a little, but the doctors say it needs some time to adjust to her body. I would appreciate it if everyone could keep her in their prayers, and pray her new kidney starts to work like it should.
Update on Stephen: Since his accident in March, he has walked with a platform walker, and will start with a regular wheeled walker this week. Saying a few words, and is assisting in his transfers. He is very aware of what is going on around him, and the doctor's beleive that he will make a full reocovery to an independant status. But, it will take a very long time. Thinking and praying for all.

Wow, your plate is overflowing-- sending much love, hugs and prayers. Kidney transplants are major but hopefully with time things will improve. May God continue to keep you and your love ones in His healing care. Be sure to try and give yourself the rest you need, too.
My heart hurts so much for this sweet boy. Have followed Tyler for a very long time. Please continue to pray for sweet Tyler and his family.
Latest journal update:
NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR TYTY
I am going to try explain whats going on with Tyler and our family. Papa George had to drive them because Ashley and Richie have no car so Papa went and stayed at RMD house with Ethan and Jayden. Papa George loves these boys so much.
Tyler and family drove all the way from Greenville to Baltimore Maryland which took eleven hours and then four really tough days (in Baltimore). Ashley's bone from her leg was not a match, so dad, Ritchie was in line next. They tested Richie scans and twenty two vials of blood and did a physical. Dad is a match so this was great.
Then there was meetings long meetings with Dr's and more Dr's. Dr Rodriguez has to have a lot of teams for this surgery. Transplant teams, all kinds of teams so there were meetings with each team. Dr Rodriguez explained how much Tyler needs this surgery without it things don't look good for Tyler.
Tyler is in constant pain from his jaw and stays on mediation. He cannot hardly eat. It's getting worst. He also has leg pain and cries when the weather is bad or raining or if he tries to walk any distance at all. All the Dr's agreed that this has to be done except for the head of the oncology department. If one Dr disagrees then they cannot do the surgery. The oncology Dr said to Ashley that this surgery has only been done one time seven years ago and that was not on a jaw. since then only to monkeys. The medication Tyler would be put on could cause a secondary cancer. Tyler could die in the surgery. She thinks there too much risk. i wonder if she would say the same if this were her child. What kind of life will Tyler have?
This is so sad we need your prayers.
Dr Rodriquez' said that Tyler doesn't have many options. The oncology's Dr said to take muscle from Tyler and try that. I talked to Dr Rodriguez he told me that taking the muscle from Tyler's leg could cripple him for life. I told him no we are not going to do that. Tyler already has his legs messed up from taking his fibula from both legs and from his leg being broken from the surgery in April this year. He still has metal rods in his leg and screws to hold his ankle on to the large leg bone. He told me to give him a week or so and that he was going to try convince this Dr that Tyler must have this surgery, his future depends own it. He also said that he will get the surgery done if he has to come to Charleston to do it.
Dr Rodriguez said that he will never give up on Tyler. Thank God for this Dr. We know that he will do what he thinks is best for Tyler.
He also said that he has to take the metal plate out of Tyler's jaw and his jaw is going to turn his face side ways and flat on one side; but it has to come out before infection starts. He told me to not cancel anything that he was hoping that he can still have the surgery November 28th. So we are just praying that God's will be done.
Dr Rodriguez also called Dr Kaveka in Charleston and told her what the oncologist had said and she wouldnt' agree. He's hoping she can change the oncology Dr's mind in Maryland.
This is so hard on our family. We feel that Tyler should have this surgery, its about all the hope that's left till he's grown. What is he to do lay in pain and take drugs. What kind of life will this be for TyTy.
Please pray for us and help us make the right decision.
We also want to thank everyone that has donated to Tyler. Without help we cannot get Tyler the medical attention he needs or go to Maryland to see Dr Rodriguez. God bless you all and thank you all so much for helping save Tyler.
If you can donate please do, go to suntrust give my name and Tyler's and Greenville or mail to

Praising God with you for your husband's progress. Continuing to pray for you both.
Brenda- I will keep up the prayers for the two of you!
DH's niece is now in a regular hospital room. Still very angry about her memory loss. She get agitated easily. She will have shoulder surgery as soon as she is strong enough.
Thanks for everyone's prayer for me and my family. Dear SIL is home now, they took biopsy of kidney. It is a viable kidney, it just needs some more time. She is making a little more urine, so it is working. Caterina---Praying for Tyler and his family, that the medical team can agree soon on what is right for him. Praying for Edward, that he continues to make progress, and praying for his family. Smileyj--keeping your DH's niece in my thoughts and prayers. Praying for all and hoping the Lord answers everyone's prayers soon.
pdate on DH's niece from her mom!
She is at our house recuperating along with the boys. The vision in her right eye is still very limited and she still has limited use of her right hand. At times she gets very frustrated and impatient (specially when she walks into walls because of her vision) and has severe depression.
Friday (tomorrow) is her first physical therapy appointment at the V.A. hospital and the 3rd of Nov. is her first occupational therapy. As everyone tells her, it just takes time and patience but we are all hopeful, no, confident that she will make a full recovery.

Praying for you today Brenda. Sounds like you are doing a great job. You should be proud of yourself. I think you shouldn't be afraid to ask some friends for help! I know if my friend was going through what you are, I would love her to tell me what I could do to help! And you would too. So let them help...
