Default ideas for cards for terminal cancer- mother in law

Hello, all, I have not been active here but would like to be; what I am requesting is ideas for cards that are lighthearted for my mother in law who is struggling with cancer.

I want to lift her up and make her laugh, I am kind of dry on ideas right now I guess due to griefing this news.

I was thinking of sending her a card every week at least. Any ideas I would so appreciate it!

Please if you can, pray for her, her name is Dorothy.

thank you all

Sue Ellen, I'm so sorry for you and your family. It is so hard to deal with an illness that is not going to get better.

It's so sweet that you want to send her cards every week. They will cheer her and also her caretakers.

I love to make cards with whimsical animals. Paper Smooches has a really cute set. Here is a link:

Penny Black makes some really cute sets with fat kitties that I just love. Here is a link:

I think just simple greetings are nice for sentiments - Hi there, thinking of you, Hello, Sending Smiles, Sending Sunshine, To Cheer You.

If you take a walk through the card section in a store, you can find other ideas for sentiments. I do this sometimes and jot them down in a little notebook I keep in my purse.

You can print them on your computer, die cut them, or even just cut a simple rectangle and mat it with a color.

It really is the thought that counts. I am sure she will really appreciate your cards.

I'm sorry to hear that someone so close has become ill. Our family has lost several loved ones this year...the most recent was my WONDERFUL sister-in-law!

I sent her cards as often as I felt comfortable - it was very difficult not to shower her daily!

If you have sentiments such as Hugs!, Thinking of You, Just because or the like...these would really go well on any type of card - floweral, butterflies, etc.

Best of luck!

Extremely sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's battle with cancer. Have been involved with Coles Foundation for nearly five years and can well understand the struggle. Through the foundation, make and send many cards to babies, children, teens, young adults and older ones. I try to keep the cards colorful, cheerful, funny and uplifting. There are a few in my gallery that may give you some ideas.

Would be more than pleased to send a card to your mother-in-law myself if you give a mailing address.

Draw your hand onto card stock and cut out two. Cut a long piece of card stock and accordion fold it to fit inside and adhere onto the palms. Stamp hugs and kisses, xoxo, all over the card and say "sending you a hug".

Thank you sooo much all!!! It has been difficult to speak to her and not tear up , but now she is still with us and we chat about Downton Abbey and other PBS series, it is such a blessing and in this way I dont make her uncomfortable. I just love on her, and that is what she wants most, love and prayers. She lives in NY and I am in Fla. so the card idea works the best.
Anywhooo thank you for your card ideas!! yes, the humorous ones she likes best, and the more corny the better! Penny Black is great! love the designs!
Thank you all for reaching out to my request.
PS. UPDATE: We finally saw a spark of hope, she is on hormone treatment therapy to reduce the tumor size and slow dwn the cancer, and her recent test a week ago did show a slight shrink in the main tumor.(yes, it has metasized through all her organs) The first good news since July when the cancer came back and she is feeling pretty good, she actually has been able to even ate a meal or two.

God bless you all!
Sue Ellen

Hoping the results she gets keep improving.
