Thank you for all the help...I have been lurking for about two years...I just posted my first image of projects...and added a picture of myself as my avatar. Needing a boost after lots of hard work and not such a good response from my SU customers at the end of 2006...so here I am to get some great support from this site. Thank you SCS.

Thank you Jami, for the tips on making friends. So far I have posted a tad about myself, I have also replyed to some post, no results though.
I am trying to learn how to navigate thru all that is available here and that is quite a chore!
I do have a question - is this site just for displaying SU made cards? I'm not sure about that so I haven't attempted to upload my cards to a gallery yet.
Thanks for the help, hope I can find this again, if there is a reply.
regards, Valerie

Nope. All stamped art is welcome! The site was started by a su Demo and is geared toward SU sets, but all other stamp companies are totally welcome in the gallery! Jump on in!

I'm sure this really is a newbie question. What is "bump"? Thanks Jaime for all your tips on different threads. Oh and did I mention I have several cases of yours?

Bump is what we say when we want a thread to be "bumped" up to the top of the New Postings listing so more people will see it.

I see that you are in SoCal. Have you signed up for StampMania? Check out the link in my sig line!!

Jami-

Wow, thanks for the time and thought you put into this post!

I'm brand new to SCS, joined today. I was going through the "Just Getting Started" posts and just had to say THANKS! It looks like I may be a little "late", all the other posts are from April of 2005.

Just goes to show Good Advice is timeless. I'll add a pic as soon as I figure out how... till then I'll keep reading...

Thanks again,
Nikki

Wow- Nikki- your first post! You picked a great thread; I subscribed to this a while back and still enjoy not only the new posts to it, but going back and refreching my memory to the older ones. You're right: good advice IS timeless

Welcome to SCS! You're gonna love it here!

Thanks for making giving us newbies some great advice. I joined yesterday evening. Just found out about this site and I have LOVED looking at the gallery. This is my first post.

Ps: I am NOT a bad speller, just a bad typer. I have typos all the time cause my brain thinks faster than I type, lol! So if you see my typos, please forgive me.

WELCOME TO SCS!!! I feel preeeeetttttty certain you will find LOTS of inspiration here in the galleries! I would also highly recommend that you join the Fan Club as soon as you can. By doing so you will have access to yet ANOTHER AWESOME gallery...The Dirty Dozen Design gallery, aka fondly referred to as the DD gallery. Each month those AMAZING LADIES work hard to create wonderful projects based on a particular theme for their faithful FAN CLUB fans. The new DD gallery uploads are available for us to see on the 15th of each month. There are alot of us who stay up late on the 14th so we can hit that gallery at the the stroke of the 15th!!! Membership in the FAN CLUB has it's privileges...we enjoy instant approval on our uploads, we can upload any time, AND the very reasonable membership fee helps to support this wonderful site.

This was very helpful. Thank you for the information as I just joined today. I'm very happy to participate in positive experiences with SCC! Good advice. Okay, tell me, please on the card galleries, some stamp set galleries have a yellow star following the title of the stamp. What does that mean?

Hi Lexi~

Welcome to SCS! To get to your profile, look up at the top of the page, on the right. Click on where it says Welcome tattoeddiva. That will pull up your profile page.

I think that means they were new sets when the catty came out last June.

It stands for Private Message. Kind of like an email right within this site. If you want to "talk" to someone (ask a question about how she did something on a card in the gallery, for instance) you just click on her name and several options will appear. One is to send a private message to that person. It is wonderful! Here, I will "PM" you now

What great suggestions! Wish I'd seen something like this when I first visited SCS - I would have made more friends by now! Still, it's never too late!

I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm quite frankly overwhelmed with this wonderful site and have spent the better part of 5 days just looking and occasionally commenting. I have so many cards I want to make and can't tear myself away from the computer. There are great suggestions that are helpful and encouraging. I am thinking about starting my gallery but haven't the foggiest idea how and being a little bit computer challenged, I'm having trouble figuring out how to put the disclaimer on - let's face it - I don't have a clue. So if there is someone who can PM me or lead me to the correct thread, I will be most grateful. Thank you for blessing my day!

Glad you found this thread! Yes, it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but just take it slow and before you know it you will find all kinds of "places" that will be helpful (and fun!) for you here. And, for the threads you particularly like and are interested in, be sure to subscribe to. Then you will get email notification whenever someone has posted to that thread. All you need to do is to go up to the top of the page and click on thread tools and a bar will drop down and you hit "subscribe".
Anyway, I don't want to give you "too much information" at once. But do want to say "Welcome"! There are so many great people here who are of tremendous help and a great source of information.
