Hinges too loose?

Hi all! I have had my MISTI for a couple years now and I absolutely love it and can't live without it! The only thing is that I've noticed over time the hinges have seemed to get looser and when I stamp now, it is not always in the same position, can be off about 1/8" or so and cause horrible stamped images. Does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know if/how it can be fixed? Thank you!

I have had my original MISTI for 2 1/2 years and have not had this problem occur for me.
