September MFT Guest Designer Contest - Win Over $125 in prizes!
Hi MFT fans and guest designer hopefuls! It's time for the MFT Guest Designer Contest. The winner of this contest will win over $125 in stamp sets AND have the opportunity to play along with the design team for the October release and all the Wednesday Stamp Club Challenges for the next month. MFT always has amazing stamp sets around the corner and getting (and stamping with) them early is a special treat.
This month, Joanne and I are challenging you to Rip & Roll. Create a stamped project that incorporates ripped paper (or another material of your choice) and rolled paper (or other material of your choice). You could use any of our Rolled Flower Die-namics, or find another way to "roll". We're looking for well-executed cards/projects that show good technique and style. Ready for the challenge? Here are the details:

This theme is just PERFECT for this month's Who's That Girl! I rolled lots of my edges, rolled the orange text paper up in a ball and then smoothed it out for a worn and wrinkled look, and I ripped and rolled up the crumply bit of paper up at the very top. I've done a lot of edge rolling in my samples this week. I'm loving the effect, but eesh, I've wrecked my manicure giggle
I agree Joanne! I reached for Who's That Mummy too and made a simple tag that could be mass produced for treat bags. I ripped the edges of the panel behind the image and rolled up the gorgeous new Rolled Mum Die-namic!
I thought I would play along in this challenge, too, especially since we have all the fabulous tools for it. I ripped the edges of my papers and yepp, I used our newest Rolled Mum flower, which I adore.
I just have to say how fun it is each month to see what you creative gals come up with for a challenge. I kicked it old school with one of my favorite seasonal MFT stamp sets, Falling for You. I distressed most everything on this card including the rolled flower. I am not a big tearer but there are small tears throughout the edges of the papers where I distressed, lol. Thanks for pushing me each month. Hugs
If I could add 6 hours to each day this weekend it would greatly increase the odds that I could play along this month.....we'll see I guess *sigh*
You should just give up 6 hours of cleaning and replace it with 6 hours of stamping. LOL Oh heck... let the family feed themselves. That'll buy you a couple hours.

I like the way you think Jody! After Hurricane Irene, I think I just earned 72 hours of uninterrupted stamping.
I love this challenges. Slowly I'm getting where I wanted to be. I keep saying this but this challenges are helping me a lot to improve my cards. Ladies your cards are a great inspiration and push me to research and learn more and more each day. Thanks!!!
Lovin' the gallery, ladies. Just spent some drool time in there this morning. Can't wait to see what's uploaded over the weekend. Keep up the great work and good luck!
This really challenged me out of my comfort zone. *gasp* ripping my pretty DP ...I NEVER have ripped edges. I like it on other peoples cards but somehow when I do it, I don't...I think it's a disease HEHE
SO, Thank you Jody and Joanne for challenging me to get out of my comfort zone..I was really happy with how my card turned out. I hope you are, too.
Hey Ladies!! Such gorgeous samples so far!! Unbelievable!! Here's mine!! I had such a great time, as always!! Such a wonderful challenge gals! Thank you!!
Crafty Hugs!!

Here's my sample for this month's challenge. I ripped some Hot Fudge cardstock then rolled it up to make the branch the nest is sitting on, and I rolled one corner of the patterned paper. Have fun everyone!!!

I have uploaded my entry. I have no MFT stamps but recently bought some dies after drooling for way too long! I swear I am in love! I can't wait to get more product
I finished up a card for my 5 year old's coming birthday. I might have to make another though because I'm thinking this one will disappear off my desk soon (dd LOVED it when she saw me making it)
yeah it worked!!!!!!! it is weird as i have put thumbnails in before but it did not want to play ball with me the other day. and this way is heaps easier!!!!!
thanks very much!
