Water colouring with distress inks

Hi ladies. I want to try watercolouring pure innocence girl with tim holtz distress inks. Which colours work well for skin and hair.
Thanks, Donna

Tattered Rose works well for skin.
Hair - depends on the colour of hair. I've used Soot Black and Walnut Stain mostly. Now that I've got Gathered Twigs I think that's a good possibility too.

Thanks Sabrina I will give those a try. Looking forward to the long weekend more time to craft lol!

For the skin I use tattered rose. When that hase gone dry, I add a teeny tiny bit of vintage photo, mixed withnlots of water.
For hair I first use vintage photo, and than add walnut stain for some shadow.
Have fun coloring!

Dena uses distress re-inkers to color her images. There are video tutorials on her blog. Lots of inspiration for this technique:

I love watercoloring with these markers! Lots of fun to play with!

I use Tattered Rose for my skin color too, and add cheeks with Spun Sugar and will sometimes add little chalk for some cheeks too.

For hair I use a combination of Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.

I use Shabby Shutters and Crushed Olives for my grass and grounding.

Broken China and Tubmled Glass are really pretty for a washed background.

Joanne, thanks for the colors for the markers. I don't have any of those yet, but every time I see you use them I tell myself I need them. Someday...... :)

I've just ordered a couple, mainly reds for colouring flowers but plan to slowly get them all. I've been watercolouring with pencils lately and enjoy the change of pace, so I'm excited to try the markers!

How are you watercoloring with markers? I may *need* these as I'm quite addicted to coloring! ;)
