Jody, Jody, Jody! Your mixed media card today was GORGEOUS! I'm not ready to jump in to it, but I'd consider coming for a lesson...

You WERE right with the butterfly guess! And what a beautiful set it is!

We got to work with the shimmer sprays at the retreat. Pictures can't really do the sparkle justice. They are sooooooo pretty!

And I love all the elements in the new Blueprints too!

Well, that's just plain unfair! I think you need to have a talk with IT and let them know why it's essential for your job to view the MFT blog.

OK... added to my wish list today...

Lisa's new butterfly set and the dies, the Abstract Art set, Blueprints 4, The Peek-a-Boo dots Dienamics, Bubblegum ink and cardstock.

Added to my thinking about list...

The text backgrounds, the heart Dienamics like the PeekABoo dots one, Mona's new rose set...

And this was only the first day!

I loved the teasers! Oh my gosh, the cards were gorgeous! I need about 8 new ink pads, a bunch of stencils, dies, and apparently mulberry paper. Who da thunk it on that one.

What is this "choose" you speak of?

For rolled flowers I like either the Royal Rose or the Hybrid Heirloom Rose.

The Flower Medley dies are great because you get several different shapes.

The Winter Rose is a gorgoues flower too. Oh also the Layered Rose.

Oh and don't forget the Royal Leaves die set. Beautiful leaves!

Am I helping?

LOL! Oh, definitely! The rolled flower that has been calling my name is the mini hybrid, but I kept pushing it down the list because I like my cards to be mailable. But with mulberry paper.... hmmmm..... But then if that goes to the top of the list something else has to move down. I think I would like to place one HUGONGOUS order to catch up with all the older product that I don't have, so then I could concentrate on the new releases. Good idea, don't you think???

I think that sounds like a perfect plan!

The winter rose has some dimension, but would probably still be mailable since it doesn't have that rolled center. (I don't know, I rarely actually *mail* a card. And if I do and it's a card with embellishments, I'll throw it in a padded envelope just to be safe.)
And I think if you use Joanne's scoring technique that she shows here: ...just a little something....: How-to Adding Scoring to Your Flowers - with video tutorial! The scoring might help it "remember" it's shape some after being flat in the envelope.

Tricia, I only have the inks, but I LOVE electric red! It's brighter than wild cherry but not orangey like I thought it might be. It's my new fave red!

Thanks, Becky! I think Jodi is going to send me a piece of the cardstock. I can't wait to see it in person.

On a totally unrelated note. I have a very cheeky squirrel sitting right outside my window. We've been getting to know each other all day as I chase him off the birdfeeder that is a three-foot jump straight above him. I'm thinking that pretty soon he won't care if I come outside or not. He'll probably just jump off the birdfeeder onto my head!

I tease my mother that she is creating a super race of squirrels. She puts out bird feeders and has an ongoing battle to try and keep the squirrels out. Every year she tries more elaborate shields etc. to deter the squirrels. Every year, they figure out a way around the latest contraption. I tell her she's just teaching them problem-solving skills.

OK... after going through today's hop, I have decided... almost... that I need pink lemonade and bubblegum and steel blue. And maybe primitive white, and perhaps jellybean green. And the dots. And the butterflies and dies. And the roses and dies. And a pacemaker. And oxygen. And a money tree.

Weren't those cards amazing??? Debbie C's rose card made me drool. Jody's mixed media was gorgeous, Michelle's red, white and yellow CAS triangle card was fantastic. Then there was the neighborhood and the triangle tree and more roses and GASP! I have to start making my list and putting it in order. The hard thing is that sometimes you'll use a set more than you think you will... like background stamps that I think I can do without, but sometimes they are the ones that just MAKE the card.

Thoughts?????

You definitely need primitive white. And primitive cream. They are goooorgeous! They had both out in the store the weekend of the workshop. And you need Steel Blue. To my eyes it's more grey, but with definite blue undertones. And it's very changeable depending on what colors it is near. Jellybean Green is a great green. I use it quite often, great color for leaves.

I loved Lisa H's Christmas tree card using the triangles. So cute!

Speaking of money trees, I need to go comment on the MFT blog. Here's hoping for a $75 GC!

I went to the Blog and couldn't find a place to comment except at the bottom. I think it is the wrong place. There were only two of us for today, the rest were from May where I commented.

Um, no clue. I bought the mini rolled roses dies because I wanted to use them for felt hairclips, but for paper...it's so hard!

I still have to do today's hop. My mom has been over and drooling at my screen while she was here seemed rude. I LOVE the triangle set! Love, love, love!

I have loved this release so far, wish i could pluck money out of thin air, right now my wish list is so long that it will take multitude number of orders to complete it.
But Tricia I do have all the inks so far and I can tell you that I no longer buy inks from any other company besides distress inks as I love the MFT inks and how bright vibrant and lovely they are. Of course all the refills are on my wishlist. Just blindly buy them, they will turn out exactly what you want. This month's ink seems to be wonderful and I think to do the two step roses they would be a great compliment.

Top of my list is the roses stamp die and stencil, I also love the cute PI. and those hearts and dots border dies, wow! now the shimmers and glossy accents, tell you, I can't earn fast enough for all I want.

I totally agree about the inks that I have! I really like them! What I'm trying to do is to buy cardstock / ink / refill all at once in colors that I can coordinate and build up slowly until I have them all. I really can only buy one or two colors at a time, especially if I'd like to get anything else AT ALL from the release. And there are SO many fun things this month that I'm debating whether to get essentials like cardstock or get a set or some dies instead. Decisions, decisions!!! Of course, not being able to order a lot doesn't keep me from enabling the rest of you!!

Sounds like you all are liking what you see so far!

I have REALLY enjoyed stamping with everything this month. I am jumping from technique to technique and having so much fun.

I did some shopping in the MFT Boutique this afternoon and got some new goodies so I am ready to put them to use and make a couple more cards.

Have a GREAT night, everyone.

How fun to live so close to the actual boutique!! It is so nice to see things in person and be able to "run in" and get a few things. Can't wait to see what you make!!!

Well, I've heard the DT gals say that they aren't formulated for use with copics, but I just tried coloring over the kraft and steel grey (I don't have the black yet) and they didn't do badly at all with copics. There was maybe a little feathering of the ink - but it didn't seem to smear into my coloring at all. I'm not sure how the black would work, though, or if it's any different. Maybe someone who has it will weigh in.

Hi Joyce. The MFT Premium Dye Inks are not formulated to work with Copic markers. They work extremely well for "solid" stamping and "outline stamping" that doesn't require Copic coloring.
