In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, My Favorite Things is pledging a donation of $1500 to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
My Favorite Things recognizes that many of our customers and friends are touched by cancer and we want to offer our support.
We would like to share a story from one of our customers that touched us deeply, and called us to action.

I have a question for you ... let me put my question in perspective for you. My sweet sister, Debbie had breast cancer 12 years ago and was only given a 30% chance to survive ... she beat it .. and 10 years after her diagnosis we through a wonderful suprise "survivor" party for her. A few short months after that celebration .. they determined she had cancer now in her bones. She has been battling the disease for 2 years now .. we thought we had it licked again in November ... clean scan and the works .. until 3 months ago. It has now gone to her lungs. We have been in the hospital for 3 months. And I pray she is going to make it out of here and come home sometime soon.
My sister and I are both "super fans" of the pure innocence line. Have you ever thought of a set with the PI girl holding a large ribbon? The ribbon could be used for breast cancer and all of the other cancers out there. Of course right now I have breast cancer on the brain.
Would you consider making one? And not waiting until October (breast cancer awareness month) to release it. I don't think we have that much time.

Debbie recently received news that her cancer is in remission! Kimberly shared the news with us this week, and we are thrilled!
In addition to our fundraising efforts, we have partnered with Splitcoast Stampers as their sole Pink Sponsor during their Hope You Can Cling To campaign.
For October, we have created three stamp sets in support of those affected by cancer; Who’s that Girl Chooses Hope, a la modes Fight Like a Girl, and Pure Innocence Have Hope.
We are deeply saddened by the need for such stamp sets, but so touched that we are able to provide them. We hope you'll consider creating a card for one of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges and sending it to MD Anderson, where it will be appreciated by one of the many patients battling cancer. Together, we can make a difference.
Ugh, definitely makes you cry! This is awesome! My oldest son, who is now 14, was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 4 yrs old. Thank the Lord he was told he was cured in 2009 and he's so healthy now, you'd never guess what he went through!
This story touches me in a big way as I head home to be with my own sister battling breast cancer. These stories, these donations, these special promotions aren't just something nice, they are really meaningful for patients and their families who are taking this difficult journey. Thanks to MFT and for people brave enough to share their deeply personal stories of hope. I am looking for that little PI girl holding the ribbon ....
How touching and wonderful!! "Remission" is such a strong and powerful word.... congrats!! I work closely with the cancer research folks at my hospital {the IRB administrator that helps approve all those research studies} and we all work hard at finding the answer... okay.... I'm getting wordy here but, it IS near and dear to my heart!! Thanks Kim!!
