Arrow June MFT Guest Designer Contest!

Hi MFT fans and guest designer hopefuls! It's time for the MFT Guest Designer Contest. The winner of this contest will win over $100 in stamp sets AND have the opportunity to play along with the design team for the July release and all the Wednesday Stamp Club Challenges for the next month. MFT always has amazing stamp sets around the corner and getting (and stamping with) them early is a special treat.

This month, Joanne and I are challenging you to Get Personal. You might personalize a card, gift, scrapbook page, or anything else you dream up. Interpret as you may, and feel free to take some creative freedom. We're looking for well-executed cards/projects that show good technique and style. Ready for the challenge? Here are the details:

Guest Designer Contest Details:

-Projects must feature some MFT stamps or products, but are not strictly limited to MFT stamps or products.
-The deadline for entries is June 6 at 10pm EST.
-When uploading your entries, please use the keyword MFTGUESTDT0611.
-Joanne and I will review all the entries and choose a winner. The winner will be announced at the Release Party at around 8:45pm EST on Tuesday, June 7th.
-The winner will receive a selection of stamps from the next release with a value over $100. You'll also join the MFT Design Team for that month!

As winner of the guest designer contest, we ask that you participate in 3 (of 5) teaser days as well as at least 1 (of 2) blog hops.

You can see all the entries for this contest HERE!

Thanks and good luck to all of you. We can't wait to see all your amazing entries.

My sample is attached and Joanne's sample is shown below in her post. I made a personalized card for my Dad for Father's Day.

I had SO much fun "Getting Personal" and made a scrapbook page of Kim and I from last summer's CHA. Can I tell you HOW excited I am for this summer's CHA?

I've included a banner using MFT's Fish Tail Banner Die-namics as well as the Typewriter Alphabet, a sentiment from Own Your Story and both a Pretty Posies Die-namics and a Rolled Flower Die-namics. Oh, and do you eagle eyes spy it.... the new Film Strip Die-namics. FUN STUFF!

I'm starting to like this scrapping thing.....

My "real" Guest Designer sample has to wait until tomorrow......but, I'll share my BBQ invite here. I personalized it with a fishtail banner die-namic and the oh-so-cute Fred set, Well Done.
Love all the MFT banner dies for personalizing just about anything!

Wow, this one is a challenge, but, that's why they call it a challenge, right? I love it - something different to stretch our imaginations. Off to work . . . but I'll be day dreaming ideas.

soooo sweet, Edna. love that you left the PI white and only colored the birdie. cute!

Here's another sample from me. I made my son a little pocket for the tooth fairy. I used the awesome new die-namic and stamp duo-pretty pocket and I snuck in a little notched tag. Alphabet was Typewriter Alpha.

Hope you find time to play.

Cards always need to fit the challenge, and can never be cards that were posted previous to the challenge being announced.

Hailey's team got knocked out so I was able to finish my project... this is a 2 page scrapbook set... I took inspiration from Lisa's simplistic pages that carry a big punch... hopefully I don't insult with my attempt... LOL

Wow! This was fun! It was perfect timing for this challenge to since I was already planning on making this project anyway. My grandma's 90th birthday party is coming up on June 26th and this is a gift for her as a keepsake from her party. For my project I made a shadow box with one of the invitations, the keepsake favors, and a place for a group photo of all the guests. Her favorite flowers are sunflowers so I used the Die-namics Build a Daisy and turned them into sunflowers. I left some open space in the bottom corner to add one of the sunflowers from the arrangements on the tables.

Okay I got one done that was personal because of the day.... Please read the story and you will understand!! Thanks for the fun It was great to be challenged in a different way and I had to laugh at myself as I did this and had to remind myself to "enjoy the moment" even when computers are frustrating and enjoy the card making.

So, when you asked us would-be guest designers to "get personal" at first I thought, hmm, share a really personal story like my most embarrassing moment . . . bicycle tumble sans underwear TMI!

Instead, I interpreted the challenge by personalizing a gift for our family reunion hostess, JoAnn C. (You're welcome for sparing you the bicycle tumble story.) JoAnn is a magical cook like her Mom, and never in a kitchen without an apron. So, I "monogrammed" her chef's hat with her name and her apron with her initials for her kitchen set (thank-you card, embellished kitchen soap bottle, and clothespin to hold her recipes). I think she'll get a kick out of it. Though, she'll probably get a bigger thrill when she sees I'm bringing some of her Mom's homemade aprons.

Thanks for the great challenge. It really made me think, and I love that it resulted in a gift for the sister-in-law I adore.

Woohoo! I didn't think I was going to be able to get this done for this month! First I wanted to make a frame for a picture of my niece & I, but my printer was out of ink, so I couldn't print the picture. Then I remembered the pictures from a trip in 2009 that I had set aside to scrapbook. This layout has one of my favorite pictures of myself. Every time I look at it it reminds me of how much fun I had that day. Hopefully this will get me going on doing the rest of the trip. Scrapbooking really isn't my thing, but I like the finished project, soooo, need to get my behind in gear!

Here is a scrapbook page that I made using some cute PI's from the new release!! This is my son Ryan a few years back boating at my parents cabin! I hope to take a new shot this Canada Day and replace the old pic (that's why it's dated 2011)...Good luck to everyone! It sure is a fun gig to be guest DT for the month!!

One more project: I also made my mom this cute invite to the movies, using another new PI, including little tickets for her and I!!!

Nothing like the very last minute. I had a genius idea to make these personalized clothespins for our family reunion in a couple of weeks. I used the Typewriter Alphabet to stamp everyone's name on a clip so they can clip their dinner plates, cups, beach towels . . . and say: Hands Off - this is mine! Used the Typewriter Alphabet and that gorgeous LilyBee paper.
