Be Inspired - Cards Created with No Patterned Paper
Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, our Designers have cards and projects created without the use of patterned paper.
Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create stunning projects without the use of pattern paper.
Location: was Ontario Canada, then Massachusetts, now Ohio.

I used Inspired by Christmas for today's challenge. I would normally use patterned paper for the base layer but instead I created texture on the Kraft layer with an embossing folder and glitter.
I played with Lisa Johnson's Primitive Pumpkins set to create my card for this challenge. Normally I would have patterned paper somewhere on my card, but I opted for using that gorgeous star border instead.
I made a little Christmas set of 5 cards using the Inspired By Christmas Stamp Set. I used the gorgeous MFT Heavyweight card stock in, Whip Cream, Natural, Kraft, Jellybean Green, and Hot Fudge. The gorgeous MFT Heavyweight card stock made this challenge a lot less painful than I thought it was going to be!
I made a set of three cards, each using MFT's Kraft, Whip Cream and Tangy Orange cardstocks along with Lisa's Primitive Pumpkins, Pretty Pocket, a bit of Lollipop Treat and Botanical Beauty.
No Patterned Paper.....this could scare the most experienced paper crafters! Back to my stamping roots I go!
Lots of pictures and descriptions on my blog
Earlier this summer, I created a set of birthday projects using the PI Surfer Dude stamp set. I created all these projects without using any patterned paper!
You can find lots of pictures of these projects HERE.
I LOVED this challenge "No patterned paper"! I made a mixed media mini art album combining many MFT stamps and Die-namics. Shown below is the cover, please see my blog for complete details.
This wasn't a huge challenge for me because patterned paper scares me a little. Here's a little card created with the new About Grandparents stamp set.
Surprisingly this was a pretty easy challenge for me While I love me some patterned paper, I also enjoy getting back to basics with simple color combinations and stamping. I created two baby cards using Circus Spectacular, Distressed Diamonds, and Baby Onesie. Lots more info and photos on my blog.
This was a FUN challenge! I was skeered at first because I'm so addicted to patterned paper, but it really was a nice change of pace! I made two cards using MFT's Own Your Story and Distressed Diamonds.
I've used my fave CAS layout for a pair of cards that both feature a 'pop' of red - my favourite trick when not using patterned paper! You can see more in my blog post here.
I didn't have as hard of a time with this as I thought I would, but it definitely was a challenge!! I did a two cards, one for my cousin Casie, and one for her sweet baby Jonah.
I have two cards AND a scrapbook page....it's was fun to work with all of the MFT products and cardstock! You can see the full post on my blog. Thanks for looking!
