eeeee! This is the second Janome fatality I've heard of recently. I'm scared for mine, it's 2 years old this Christmas. I don't know what I'd do without mine.
shop for a new one of course!
look and see if the manual has any directions for oiling it. I found out with my "good" machine that oiling and cleaning it makes a HUGE difference. If you're sewing on paper all the time there probably won't be much to clean, fabric leaves lots of gunk but you can put a drop of oil under the bobbin.
since I only paid $40 for my Janome due to a great sale, I wasn't too too bummed after using it for a year on every single card I made. I do love my bigger sewing machine now, so much quicker and more stitching options! a tip I learned too, was to use clear thread on the bottom bobbin so I didn't have to switch out the bobbin every time I wanted to switch thread color. Saves me so much time!
Such GREAT Samples, **SEW** Glad I'm not playing!!!! tee hee... I DID just get a Pixie Plus in the mail, now I have to hit Jody's blog and find all the WTH pointers!!!!
Okay... I've been cooking for the past week for 11 {okay, maybe several days but, it felt like a week}. What's a Pixie Plus??
Love, love, love all the samples- wonderful!!

i am having trouble posting to this thread, maybe this one will work.
i didn't know what i was going to do for this challenge, because my mom has the sewing machine. so i did a little hand stitching and faux stitching too. and it was fun!
here is my entry.
Ugh - talk about last minute!!! I've been suffering from a cold the last few days and today is the first day I've felt like doing anything. Forgive the photos (no natural light today).
I was afraid I wasn't going to make it in on time but I think I was able to sneak it in just in time. Had it almost finished earlier and DD had to get the stomach virus. enough with the blah blah
here is my entry: sh..... I am reading
Wow! I didn't think I would get this done. The last week has been a blur and I was sick for Thanksgiving and my son got sick on Sunday. But I did manage some time away tonight to give this challenge a shot.
Let me preface this entry with this, "I DON'T SEW!" but I did give it a shot. I used the VIP kit for this card and made little puffy hearts from the new Die-namics Hearts a Plenty dies.

If I did this right (you should hear me cackling) I will have inserted a photo of my "Splish Splash" card. I sewed the buttons onto the felt and then I embroidered lots of little Franch Knots around the scallops.
I have little faith in my abilities so I'm just saying that if there's no thumbnail here, well, duh and I'll just do a post with a link to it.
another view, close up of the stitched snowflakes...entries are amazing! I am blown away by how high these talented ladies set the bar! No chance at me winning, but still fun to play and witness all this talent in one place! My hat goes off to every one of you!!!!
