OK gang! I got this week's sketch done (& uploaded) in time! Woohoo!

I also managed to get 123 made as well, but it's not uploaded yet. So I have 121 & 123 complete & not uploaded. I need to remake 122, 'cause my first attempt sorta is not so good. And I need to make 124.

I'm making some progress!

That's excellent!

I am missing this week's sketch for now, because I had to work on teasers with the June stamps and dies. This might be my favorite release EVER. CAN NOT WAIT until you all get to see it. *swoon*

Oh... and for those of you who attended the retreat... I got my mixed media on for a couple of my projects. I was covered in paint and molding paste, but it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to share!

Well, we'll let it go this time, since you had to make some projects to tease us with! When do sneak peeks start?? I need to add these things to my calendar, you know!

Tease! I can't wait to see!

I've got molding paste & gelatos sitting in my amazon cart right now. Waiting for payday. Because somehow I spent my fun money already, oh about a week ago or so.

If it isn't treated it he will only have 3 or 4 months. If it's treated he may have 3 or 4 years. We want to do whatever we can so the vet recommended an oncologist. She said they may be able to save his leg.
I don't know how I'm sitting here typing this or asking questions about sketches. One minute I'm okay and the next I can't see thru my tears. I thought if I tried to do some crafting it might take my mind off it.

So sorry. Maybe stamping can help. Think of it as therapy. Gets your mind off the yucky stuff.

Wow, I didn't even know we had a club 52 thread here, lol. I am up to date, and hoping to get a sneak peek in tonight so I can start dreaming about what I am going to make, lol. I love it when they have it posted 9pm on tuesday pacific time, that's about perfect for me, so I can get home from work and after having thought about it for 20 hours or so, I'm ready! lol.

Thanks for the fabulous sketches. I think I was floundering on my card sketches until I found this challenge! Thanks MFT.

I'm impressed. I have another one done somewhere and it looks like I have 10 to go and of course there's the 11th being posted today.

For those who are catching up, here's a thought: Get the card layers prepared, and then use the June vsn challenges -- June 7-8 -- to complete them. Two birds with one card, 45" a card, and that'll be 13 done. If you do all the challenges. The theme is Dog Days of Summer. I'm hosting, and used a PI for my sample card.

What do you think?

Yeah, I forgot about today's sketch. So that's three I need to make. 122, 124 & 126. If it's not too hot when I get home, maybe I can get one made after work.

Prep time-- gathering materials and figuring out the design-- doesn't count for the 45". So, the image and sentiment is all you'd have to do in the allotted time. That's the advantage of using a prepared sketch for the format and a precolored image. Tricks and talents for vsn!

Great idea to prep the bases beforehand. I usually pick my stamp, them pick my paper(s). So doing this will be a challenge for me too!!

Huh? I followed you up to 45" a card... It's probably a great idea, I just don't know what you mean.

I think she means 45 minutes a card, since it's during VSN.

Ha! I can't imagine a 45 inch card... Quilt, maybe. Not card.

Yes, vsn means 45 minute limit, not counting prep (as in gathering materials and figuring out the design). I'm thinking to do some of the very early sketches that happened before I started with the sketches. I'll prep the layers, then slap something on to fit the challenge parameters.

Hi all. Just checkin' in. My son is graduating from high school today! GASP. My parents are in town visiting, so I'll be getting a little further behind in WSC's but I hope I can catch up after the June release (which rocks, BTW).

Did you all see that the new party chat thread is up already? Maybe we should see if we can get 4 or 5 pages filled before the party even starts!!

OK gang, I'm in a funk this week & I need to snap out of it. Another week's gone by and I haven't done the sketch. I know why I'm in a funk, I'm just finding it really hard to sit down to create.

On the productive side, we ran the carpet scrubber this weekend, got the front porch cleaned off & swept, switched the puppy (who's turning 1 this month, we think) to a larger crate, and pulled the plastic off the windows in my craft room so I now have air flow in there.

Crafty-wise I did make the rounds of Archiver's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels & JoAnns (x2) armed with coupons this past weekend.

I feel ya! I;ve been in a funk also. What did you buy with all your coupons?

I have purchased paint, molding paste, mod podge, spray fixatif, Inka Gold (LOVE), mixed media paper, gelatos... hmmmm I wonder who was inspired by the retreat?

Ha! Let's see, my purchases are: gelatos, molding paste, fiber paste, spray fixative, Tim Holtz tissue wrap, Martha Stewart pearl paints. And I'm sure some other things that have slipped my mind. Oh, and some mini-mister bottles. Actually, the gelatos I ordered from Amazon and should be delivered today. And of that list, only the tissue wrap was on my list prior to the retreat.

What mixed media paper did you get?

I just googled the Inka Gold, I'm intrigued. Does it stay dimensional like the modeling paste? Is it sort of a pre-colored modeling paste? I know you can tint the modeling paste yourself, but I would imagine that you can't put too, too much color in without changing properties.

Listen to you two speak Mixed Media! Every time I hear the word gelatos I think of the Gelatinous Giant from The Phantom Toll Booth book. It's a fantastic children's book that we have as an audiobook, and when I hear "gelatos" a picture of this big slimy giant talking blob keeps popping into my head! LOL!!!

Yes! We have the audiobook read by Norman Dietz and it is FANTASTIC. My daughter and I quote it all the time...

"You're in the doldrums... Yes, the doldrums!"

or

"We don't want to get anything done. We want to get nothing done and we can do that without your help!"

and on and on and on!!

Sorry... that was a TOTAL thread hijack! Now back to our regularly scheduled stamping talk!!

On the productive side, we ran the carpet scrubber this weekend, got the front porch cleaned off & swept, switched the puppy (who's turning 1 this month, we think) to a larger crate, and pulled the plastic off the windows in my craft room so I now have air flow in there.

Crafty-wise I did make the rounds of Archiver's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels & JoAnns (x2) armed with coupons this past weekend.
with all the work you've done it's no wonder you're not up to crafting, you must be exhausted so I think you should count the shopping and browsing as crafting.

I think of Italian ice cream and get a craving.

Well, I'm perfectly ok with that theory. Besides, it's not just the shopping, then it's the unloading the bags & putting new toys away that goes along with the shopping...

However, that still doesn't get me any progress on the WSC sketches.
