I copied the ink chart from Ranger's site. I had to do it "screen print" method so I could copy it in two parts.
I blew up the charts and punched donut rings from the colored squares. I did the chart in two parts because I could not blow it up large enough to punch the rings when it was on one chart
I use the 1/2" & 3/4" SU punches to punch the rings.
They slip perfectly over the eye dropper top on the bottles. I can now just look in my box and grabbed the ink I want
Instead of needing to lift each one out of the box to read the label.
If any new people have not punched a ring this is how you do it. Punch the smaller hole first. . Turn the larger punch over so you can see the opening and align it with the small hole to punch a ring.
I have a couple of appointments today, but I will try to take a picture of this system later and post it.
EDIT: I printed the charts on card stock and cut them in strips so I could reach the squares with the punches. I cut the strips just below the printing to allow space to punch the ring.
. I only punched out the rings for the reinkers I have and saved the strips so I can punch the other colored rings as I buy those colors.

Thanks!
I sent an email to Tim Holtz and asked him if he could make the Distress color charts into PDF's and enlarge the color chips to 1" square to make this system a little easier.
I got an auto reply that he is out of his office until Oct 2.

Cool idea. I think if I tried it, though, I wouldn't bother printing the charts. I'd just punch the rings and colour them myself with the inks. I'd been wondering about sticking small round labels on the top of the droppers, but wasn't sure they'd stand up to much use - this looks like a much more workable idea. TFS.
FYI - I think Tim is on a cruise (not sure what it's called). The one I would love to be on, as he was talking on his blog about packing all of the supplies for it.
I did the same thing except I rubbed the pads direct to the paper thenpunced out ( after they dried or they don't punch cleanly). I have also done this for my ink pads but didn't punch the center, then glued the dot typed the name with lablemaker. So much easier to see what exactly the color looked like.
I'm not sure if Walmart still sells them, but they used to sell a double sided carrier for match box cars. It was see through so you could lay your bottles in there and see the name, or I printed labels to place under each bottle. Each box had enough spaces for 48 reinkers, enough to hold Stampin' Up's four color palettes.
It would have been easier to just punched the rings and colored them using the blending tool and ink from the ink pads. However I don't yet have an ink pad for all of my reinkers colors.
I have had the Walmart match box car cases for years, but I don't know if they still sell them. I use them for a different storage use and the Distress reinker bottles are too high for the sections in the box. It would work for SU reinkers, but I have no intention of buy a lot of those. I use Memento and Distress inks most often
I got a reply from Tim Holtz regarding making the color chips larger on the Ranger site . He said due to the difference in people's printers he is afraid people may see a color on their printout and expect the ink to match that, so Ranger won't put the colors on their site. Apparently he doesn't know the color chip charts are already on the site LOL I won't tell him

How about punching from a scrap you have left over from your projects. I always seem to have plenty of those.
And just a thought, if you wanted the name, a permanent fine liner ( say 0.1mm) might be skinny enough to write it on.
ETA: Now I just have to get enough reinkers to justify doing this.
I am using the reinkers to water color images so I don't have any left over scraps.
I didn't bother to write the names on the rings. It was a nuisance to lift all of the bottles out of the box ,one by one, to read the label and find the color I want .
If I am looking for Peeled Paint there only 2 lighter greens to lift out so that is no problem
I think the time to set up an organizational system is before you have a gazillion to do

I'm a batch process kinda gal. I enjoy doing a dozen of something and getting into a rythym so lots would be no problem for me. (Note how I am justifying the purchase of more reinkers?)

I used small dot stickers on the tops of my Alcohol inks, coloured with the ink itslf, as I too got fed up with lifting out every bottle to find the one I wanted- it was always the last one, lol.I did the same with my Promarkers too, as they don't have coloured lids.
