Any cheap ideas on how to store the new style punches? I'm looking for maybe a shelf system so I can see which punch is which, but the shelves are too deep that it's a waste of space. I'm thinking I need to adapt one of the ink pad ideas to suit a variety of sizes of punches - I have some borders, a few XLs, Larges and Medium sizes.
the newer EK Success/SU punches that can be stored flat.
The only storage I've seen is for the medium size and the SU storage which is too expensive since I'd have to buy 3 different boxes at $20-$25 per box.
How about a small decorative wall shelf - the ones that look like a piece of crown molding trimmed out. They're only a couple of inches deep and would fit the punches perfectly. You can line them up on their sides so you can see the image to let you know what punch it is.
i use one of those shoe bags that hangs up..it has clear pockets so you can see the punches you need. it has worked well and i now have three of them for all my punches.
they hold 12 to 15 punches and can be hung on the back of a door.
I bought some rectangular storage bins from Target...I stand the punches (large and XL) on end and it works well. I have purchased two of the punch holders sold at MIchaels and Hobby Lobby for the small and extra small ones and they are working well also. the rectangular bins come in several colors...I have red and white ones.they sit on book shelves and are easy at hand. my lever style are on old CD racks. I would love to convert all my lever ones to the fold and lock style.

Thanks for the responses ladies! I realized that the new style punches are constructed in a way that if you stack them (same size on top of each other), they 'fit' together and don't slide off. Makes it much easier to stack on a shelf - at least a few!
I bought this at Michaels on sale. The little cubbies are great for all kinds of things. In the bottom two sections there are removable dowels for ribbon - I took them out and I am using the very bottom one for my new style punches. As you can see, they line up well and don't hang out much at all - only an inch or so. This rack can be hung on the wall also. I just chose to sit it on my desktop.
I Love this unit! I wish I had room for more! It works "perfect" for me for these punches.
The boxes the pads are in are the boxes the pads came in from SU when I bought a whole family of ink pads. I relocate twice a year so I kept them in their boxes. The pads I bought individually are stored in this same unit (as you could tell from the picture). I don't know what else to do with them but this works for now.
Gee, I wish now that I hadn't thrown away (recycled) my ink boxes :-(. People keep telling I can't save everything. This just goes to show that I should hang onto everything.
