I have my Beloved Husband to thank for that- he built it for me to house all my wooden rubber stamps- I've just used it now for my inkpad storage, so they are away from the light from the window, and heat from the radiator!

Also, I had a lot more stuff than when I first started, and my crafting taste has changed somewhat over the years, so I also had a clear-out of things I don't use, most of which has gone to my DIL, for the Grandchildren. Anyhow, this is what it looks like now:

I saw the Expedit cubes in Ikea, and fell in love! They're fabulous. I also wanted somewhere especially for my Big Shot Pro, as the thing is so huge! When I saw that the Expedit 4x2 could have a desk attachment, which is big enough easily for the BSP, I was over the moon. The 5x5 Expedit has all my books, stamp folders etc etc. The second row down is all my stamps- I unmounted all my wood block stamps over Christmas, which used to fill, on end, the wooden shelf unit hubby built me, which now houses all my inkpads & so on. Under the table that stands on are drawer units from Staples,( ribbon/vellum/dp)and Really Useful Boxes. Under the other table are deeper drawer units. This holds punches, cardstock, glue etc. The desk(under the window) is also an Ikea table top, with a drawer unit one end- keeps all the 'use all the time' stuff to hand. Its so much better now, I don't feel so overwhelmed with 'stuff'. And the step stool is Ikea too!
Terrific organization tfs!!

Winnie, what a wonderful room! It's organized so well and looks great too I never thought of using lazy susans for embossing powders, paints etc. I'll have to remember that.

Great space, and it gives me a lot of inspiration for what I could still add to my craft room.

But could someone please explain to a non-native speaker what a "lazy susan" is? I assume that you can rotate it, but where would you look to find something like this - craft store, kitchen supplies, somewhere else?

Yes, you're right, a lazy susan spins. It has a base, a top plate, and a ring with bearings that goes between the two so that they spin with no effort. Here's some pictures from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Lazy Susans: Home & Kitchen
I'd check the Kitchen store for the ones Winnie was using. But if you want one that spins and has bins for craft supplies, then the craft store would have those.

Thanks Diane

I've got one of those Making Memories spinning desktop organizers, but it is completely full so I am looking for suitable additions - will check out the German Amazon site.

Default lazy Susans and desk size answers

The lazy Susans I have came from Bed, Bath & Beyond. They come in different sizes. I got a few in 10" size, and most in 8" size. Just measure the depth of your shelves before you buy them.

The desk is from Ikea and it is called "Malm" and it has a pull out side where I keep my score board and use my Vagabond and other devices. I don't have a Big Shot, but guess they are probably in the same size range.

The desk measures: 59 1/2 inches x 25 1/2 inches

Side pull out measures: 19 1/2 inches x 15 3/4 inches.

Hope that helps.

Absolutely love your set up. I have that desk and 6 drawer cabinet. I love them and all the room they allow. Ikea is my favorite store for organization. Great job on your craft room.

Great space! You're lucky to have room for a nice table like that. I'm in a 12 by 12 room, and if I can ever convince my DH that we don't need the futon in there, I may be able to have room for a table, although I'm not sure how I'd arrange the furniture.

I know, I really enjoy my Craft Room! My DH in my beginning Stampin' Days thought when I asked him to make me a bench for my dining room that opened up with room for storage, that that would be enough room for all of my supplies. (If I remember correctly, at that time I already had my supplies stored in a wardrobe closet). He carved a real "Smartie Pants" saying on the inside of the bench on the lift up part. LOL he caved!! And I got my room! He always wanted to do a large addition onto our house, and when he decided he was going too, he really did...LOL, he got a little carried away. The little house that we raised our DC in became a great place to someday perhaps have a nice B&B with plenty of room for our children to come home with their families. LOL We all still laugh at my bench, he made it from wood he found in his Mom and Dad's attic that his Dad had saved for a special project, the wood is 100+ years old and I just rolled my eyes at him for engraving what he did in it! The bench itself is beautiful!!

After a daytrip to Ikea and the remainder of the day spent with drill, level, and screwdriver, I finally have my punches organized and easily accessible! I re-organized my ribbons and with a newly organized desktop, now I can reach my scrap box easily to use those all up. I would post photos, but I am too tired! Very happy, but very tired. Thank Heavens for Ikea!

Oh yes, although their cordless electric screwdriver is really not worth buying, not even at the admittedly very low price. This is why I assembled most of this manually:

Further photos can be found in my gallery, and I will post some more once the mess in the rest of the room is cleared.

Default Ta Dah! My punches are organized and visible!

As promised, I am posting pics of my newly organized punches. The closeup shows how I labeled the spot where the CM punches are that do not show an image on the top of what it punches.
The other closeup is of one of my assistants, Nutmeg. She is a paper sitter.

Ok, I FINALLY cleaned up my room a bit yesterday! Found a WHOLE pack of very vanilla and whisper white and a roll of sticky strip in a box with papers (which I also needed for work)! I need to clean more often, lol! I posted that on FB and my DH said he now feels the sudden urge to hide things, lol!!!! Stinker! Anyway I totally need to do a video of my "new" room since I've been in it for a long time now! Maybe I'll do it tomorrow!

Default A while back....

A while back someone posted pictures of a workstation that was the Mac daddy of all workstations. I believe it was designed to go in the center of the room and had PLENTY of storage on the sides. I recall that it would hold 12x12 paper packs and tons of stuff. It was also a bit pricey, but looked like it was worth every penny.

Pottery Barn is coming to mind, but I could be totally wrong on this. I'm looking to locate a picture and source for this work station. Can anyone help?

Bought a farm kitchen table yesterday. Woo-Hoo!! It has oak colored top and white legs. I found it at Fred's discount shop. I paid $67. Now comes much organizing the office space so table will fit. The table measures:29 1/2 high 47 deep and 29 1/2 wide. I need to buy a comfy chair to help my back, so I can craft longer. I will post a pic once room is organized.
Now go stamp!

If you a have a Container Store near you, they are having an office sale and the bungie office chairs are on sale for $100 and are so comfortable and come in several different colors

Default Ribbon Storage Suggestions Needed!

Hello!
I've got a couple problems with my current ribbon storage and what I'm finding online and on Pinterest isn't helping. Here's the problems:

Currently, my ribbon spools are hung on my craft room wall on rods. The problems I run into include:

1. Dust accumulates on the spools.
2. When 1 spool runs out, I have to remove all of them to remove/replace just that one, which becomes a pain in the tush.
3. The weight of the spools is becoming too much and the rods are starting to bend.
4. I no longer have room to add additional ribbon.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a company or alternative way to store all my ribbon? I have to admit, that I have quite a bit, as ribbon IS one of my weaknesses!

Thanks for your help!!
Maggie
