Question about the dismounting SU Background Stamps

Hello Everyone, I have a few questions
Did you dismount your large background stamps?
Did you put them on cling foam or just use the red rubber?
Would you changed anything about what you did?
Have you used them with a misti? Is that better than a big block?

All of mine are bare rubber. Unlike my other stamps, I don't even have AdTech adhesive or anything on the back. I use them by laying them face up in the MISTI, taping the cardstock to the lid of the MISTI, inking up the stamp, closing the lid (with cardstock attached), repeat as necessary to get the coverage I want.

To store them, I just slide them into a page protector (they're 5 1/2" x 8 1/2") like I do all of my other stamps. Prior to that, I just had them stacked on top of each other in a clamshell. The only thing I would have done different is do it SOONER!

Mine are already not on wood, I don't buy wood mount any longer. They are, however still on the foam.
I will say that large stamps like these are harder to get a good imprint with, unless you take a lot of care to get good overall pressure to ensure a clean image. Sue's Misti use does that, and as I'm waiting for Tims Stamping Platform to become available, I shall be using mine for that too. If you don't have a stamping gizmo like these, my advice would be to ink the stamp well, lay it flat on your table. Then lay the cardstock on top of the stamp, and apply careful, even pressure all over the cardstock. One way to do this easily is to use a Cuttlebug/Big Shot plate/large stamping block on top of the cardstock. Especially watch out for the centre of the stamp- the area most likely not to get enough pressure.

Just put your stamp on your table (not on anything squishy) and CS on top. Put a piece of copy paper on top of that if there's background stamp sticking out so you won't get your fingers inky. And just rub all over the stamp with your fingers.

I had tried pressing with a very large block on top but that missed spots since there's no give. A small brayer can work too.
