Default Photo Boxes

I noticed at Michaels this week that there were photo boxes at 5 for $10. Frankly, I wouldn't know where to put them anyway, but the idea of a bunch of matching containers is appealing. What do you store in them other than finished cards? Size and shape wise, do they suit any particular stamping items?

I use photo boxes for a lot of things, but not photos. LOL
I have photo boxes for: craft paint, ink pads, small spray paints, memorabilia that I need to sort, etc. I used to keep my stamps in photo boxes, but recently moved them to Iris drawers.

My boxes don't all match. Some are more than 15 years old. I recently took a well-worn photo box (torn lid corners) and "altered" it into a receipt box for the 2012 Scrap/Stamp on a Budget challenge. I love these boxes. They stack nicely on my storage shelf and pack neatly in a wheeled suitcase that I take with me on scrap retreats. They also have a nameplate so I can label the boxes over and over as I repurpose them.

I'm in the middle of reorganizing my craft room. I want more of my items (ink pads) to be more easily accessible. I plan to end up with extra boxes. I'll likely store them in my scrap suitcase, loading them up only for travel.

I store my seasonal stamps in them - Easter, Valentine's, Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall and 4 for Christmas stamps. Since these are only used once a year, this has been a great way for me to store them. I take out the box I need for the occasion and away I go!

I use them for all my random things that don't fit anywhere else. I just filled one with glitter containers. I have a brayer/wheel ink/handles box, a box for embossing supplies, scrap paper, etc....
Love these little boxes. I decided that I want all mine to match so I will be getting some more this week. I think there was an additional 20% off coupon on Michaels web site, not sure when it was good through.

I do the same, as they just take up too much space and are not used much during the year, just grab when the season approaches; and back out of the way

Decorator photo boxes are the main storage in my craft room. I store everything from my vintage ephemera to my stamps. I love this storage for me because my room looks so classy and beautiful. I can keep everything dust free. Some of my items are very old. Antique old not hanging on to it for one day old. Each of my boxes are unique and precious to me. I have quite a large collection.

I gravitate to this organization thread so often for helpful ideas. Most times I see something here and think "now why didn't I think of that?" This box idea is what I need. Just recently I reorganized all my stamps in one of those Sterlite 4 drawer containers thinking how clever I was. Now I will be able to free up a lot of space by moving my seasonal stamps to boxes!! I have saved various boxes I like to decoupage with scraps and dsp I love.

I LOVE photo boxes! I have a bunch, and use them for TONS of stuff. I have one that I used to organize all of my dies***.

I have one with all of my 'bling' - rhinestones, pearls, etc.
One with paper flowers
one with acrylic paint bottles
one with punches (though I need something else, plus it doesn't fit all of them!
I have some stamps in one
a box for glitter/embosing powder
a box for felt
a box for buttons...

I think you've got a good picture ;) I too, liked the idea of matching, I went plain jain, and did all white.

With all of these ideas, sounds like I'm making another trip to Michaels. Of course, that's not always a bad thing.

These are OLD photos of my studio (I now use a bookshelf instead of the white modular storage), but you'll get the idea:

Studio Storage - WhoIsTracy? Blog

Photo boxes are great for everything!! I have my ink pads in them, sorted by color. Stickers in one, chipboard in another. Brads & eyelets along with my crop-a-dile fit in another. I love being able to see what's in a box without having to rummage around. Plus, if I want to just toss something into a box, I can and it's out of sight and my room still looks tidy.

LOVE them!!

I have one I keep SU ribbon in (other ribbon is in an old Sterlite shoe box container) and just this morning realized I have room on the shelf to stack one more on top of it for more ribbon! I like ribbon out of the dust, etc.

I did it! There are ten photo boxes now on the top of some bookcases. Each holds one color of all kinds of embellishments: borders, stickers, clip art, rub-ons, etc. The boxes match in color but each label is color coded and has the color name. The embellies had been in hanging file folders but were a nuisance to look through, and I was afraid of damage to the pieces when they went back into the folder. Hope this gets me using those items more. The box is so easy to look through or dump out and reload.

I used them as gifts for people to keep cards in. I put categories (Anniversary, Birthday, Get Well, etc.) on the dividers (can be covered with DP) and put cards in the categories so it was a gift set of cards.

Is that the normal price? Do they come in varied sizes and colors? Inquiring minds want to know!

I actually work at Michaels and the regular price is either 3.99 or 4.99. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns.

I got two white boxes today, on sale for $2.39. And a heart cookie cutter. My total due was 83 cents b/c of the $5 off $5 coupon good this weekend! I hope you all can head there to shop!

This is exactly what I do. I use all white boxes and have labels on them. My space is all white with orange accents, so I just made orange labels for each of the boxes and wrote the name of the colour. I also turned them around so that the metal label holder was not visible, as some of my older ones were gold and the newer ones were silver. I also use them for a ton of other stuff. Love the look of everything being neat and dust free. Oh, and I always buy them on sale (they are on sale very often).

FYI girls.
Joann's boxes don't have the dividers in them like Michael's does. I bought one at each place for the colors and found out the hard way.
