How is everyone storing these?? I have 1 of the containers from Joann's that stack (so to speak) with colored pencils, I have another storage box for my memento markers & also I have the T.H. distress markers in the storage container they came with. I also have a pampered chef organizer with more colored pencils, scissors & various tools. I'm thinking that I would like all of my coloring mediums on my desk together! I have looked at some of the stamp rooms that other scs have and I like having those items together! I have thought about the canning jars but don't really want to have that much glass on my desk and possibly having to many! Any suggestions & ideas are greatly appreciated!
If I didn't get those for such a good deal, I would have used the foamcore board idea of Nancy's. Brenda posted a link to it in her post #3 above...the syzygy of me one. It would turn out basically the same.
I bought a white storage cube at Michaels (on sale of course!) then used small plastic storage containers that I'd bought on line somewhere for gift packaging. Sorry, I can't figure out how to attach a thumbnail but you can see it on my blog here: Cardworksandmore: Marker Storage
I don't own Copics either, just started collecting Letraset Promarkers but I love the downspout idea...cheap and easily customize able. Going to get dh to stop at Lowe's after work since I'm down ill today...not that I ever have to beg him to go to Lowe's!
I don't have exceptional storage for any of them except I do use an enamel bin from A Muse Studio for my Copics and keep one on my desk with all of the incidental tools I use all the time - scissors, files, tweezers, some drawing markers and pencils, x-acto, burnisher, waterbrushes, etc. Love this bin and it looks nice too!
My Prismacolor pencils are just in a big tin box they came in (plus some). I'd like to come up with something different for them - colored pencils are trickier because their height changes!
The others (Distress, Spica glitter and glaze pens) are in SU plastic cases in a fabric storage box from Target.
Such great ideas everyone, thanks so much! I did some searching when I first posted this and this is what I ended up doing!
I have taken some cans ( veggies) and after I removed the wrap (and washed them out of course lol) Spray painted the inside white, then I took some of my SU dp wrapped it around the can. I then took it a couple steps further by putting mod podge on it. I also took my matching ribbon wrapped it around the top of the rim and added a bow!! I also took my SU scallop circle punch wrote on it (ie, Sharpies, Prismas, etc) and placed that beneath the bow!
I have about a 6ft (drafting) table that has a peg board(back wall so to speak) and I dug out my Bygel rails from Ikea placed those on the peg board and put my cans in them! I was able to fit 4 cans in each one!
What is great about this for me is it didn't cost me anything and it also doesn't take up space on my table!
I don't have many SU markers so for now I just have them in a little round-top lunch box that I got from hobby lobby.
I like your cubbie that you have your copics stored in. May I ask what brand it is & where you purchased it from? The top part (Hello Kitty) is that a drawer that is on the top or a separate piece?
Thank-you for sharing your ideas, I appreciate it!

I'm not Gale, but these are called Magpie storage units made by Quikcuts (if I remember correctly) and have been discontinued (a few years ago I believe). I have several that I bought online several years ago. Unfortunately, I don't think they are available any longer. Maybe someone knows of a similar unit still available!
Yep and they are pretty much impossible to find now. I originally bought mine from joann.com and at the time, overstock.com had them too. Now I think ebay would be the best bet but I'm not sure if they can even be found there. Those are drawers at the top and the whole unit can be turned upside down (I think I have them upside down) so the drawers can be on the top or the bottom.

To: Jtax & Gale Thank you for the replies. My luck!! I know that there is the "Copic" storage units but they are much taller. Not sure if those would work!!
I am thinking there is a company that makes similar storage. It's a wooden cubbyhole that is 3 holes vertically and you can set them next to each other. I hope someone else remembers and can post a link.

Gale- I had Hello Kitty envy. I love my Hello Kitty. I love your storage just because you Hello Kittified it.
Fionna- I really love your storage too.
All my coloring tools are on a bookshelf arranged by mediums. I have one area for acrylic paints, watercolors, oil paints & pastels. Another shelf holds all my color pencils, watercolor markers and alcohol markers. It's a huge bookshelf and just brimming with things. I think I have a problem.
Hopefully, we might be moving soon. I plan to keep the bookshelf. My most used tools I plan to store on a smaller roll type drawer system.
Has anyone got one of the plastic shipping trays from the tin container that the Prismacolor pencils come in?
I bought the 132 set and then Prismacolor came out with new colors...which of course, I just had to have. Now I need one of the trays to store the pencils in my drawer.

I just went to Blick art supply and found an awesome pencil (marker) storage case made by Global Art. It holds 120 pencils beautifully. They all face up and you can see all the colors at once. It has 2 zippered compartments which turn as if you are turning a page. Beautiful! Especially since I like to organize my pencils by color. I liked this case much better than the one by Tran that I have seen recommended (too many flaps and pencils facing different directions). Since this only holds 120 and I have the 132 set, I bought the smallest case by Tran as well and used it to hold my shading greys separately since I don't use them as often. This case is a little more pricey at $38, but for me it was worth it.
Still looking.... Sure wish I could find a "magpie" unit I was just looking at Michaels "Recollections" and they have a marker storage that fits into there cubes. I don't want a big cube on my desk because it takes up to much space, but what about the marker storage piece itself?? Does anybody have this and if you do, how do you like it? Pros/cons???
Look at www.organizemore.com
They have storage similar to Magpies, but much better made. They are a small family company with great service. I have several of their organizers. They are sturdy and don't take up too much space. You can also get them in colors to match your craft room!
Look at Welcome to OrganizeMore! - easy organizing.

Thanks Jan! I'm looking to get the marker storage one. I posted in the announcements if anyone has a coupon code for them. I tried "Crafter" but no luck! Thanks for your reply!
Tossing in my two cents (or picture). But it's a basket with a grid cut out of foam board. More pix and info on my blog: Paper Chrome: Copic Storage Basket
Am I the only one still storing all my pens horizontally? Does it make any difference?
No, I don't think so. Copics can be stored either way. For me, I prefer to store them horizontal (but for now they are vertical) I'm looking at getting the marker organizer from "Organize More" so I can store them horizontal along with all my other coloring mediums. Can only afford 1 right now, hopefully all of my stuff will fit!!

I still store mine horizontally. That basket in the picture I loaded a few posts up will turn and lay on it's side (or end). Works great!
I finally ordered the maker storage unit from Organize More! Was hoping it would of gone on sale but my patience got the best of me and I couldn't wait! Now for the real wait 3-5 weeks! Ugh, but I know it will be so worth it
