No, Amber is not lacking in anything, just like she said. The super good news is that she'll let you play with her toys, and she shares a lot of any "extra" she ends up with. She's probably sent more stuff to others who could use it than most of us ever buy for ourselves...

Over 800? I am SO jealous! I have about 120 A2 folders, and tons of the smaller ones.

I have 32 A2 size or bigger and a few smaller ones. I buy more occasionally (when I see a card that uses one that I love) but don't have any in my sights right now. I don't use them that often, but I love to have them for when I need them. The right EF can add a lot to a card.

my problem is I can never avoid "a good deal" - I have purchased many in my collection for only $1 or $2. So, haven't counted yet, but probably around 100.

I love these threads, it is so interesting to see what we all accumulate, lol. I was curious (as was hubby as I was reading some of the answers) so I went and counted. I have 42 A2's, 10 borders and 16 small. This does not count the small ones that go with Cuttlebug dies that I purchased at Big Lots several years ago when the sets were $2 a piece. Funny thing is I rarely use any of those but do use my other folders occasionally. This was a great experience as it reminded me what I have and also that during my purge last year, I didn't touch these. I certainly have a few I will probably never use, tried them and didn't like them. One of those, they are on sale and it's a good deal purchases, before I really knew my card making style. Thanks for a great thread! Will have to go through them and offer them on the pay it forward thread. Rachael

I haven't done a count but I have alot and I have stopped purchasing any. Unless I find a super great deal on some of course! Can never seem to pass up a deal! I have been looking for a way to 'index' them so that I can see at a glance what I have and maybe use them more often.

The box is full. I either need to get another box, or purge before buying more.
I spent the day working on my disaster of a craft room. (Found 2 bags of stuff from my LSS that closed about 4 years ago.)
Anyway, I uncovered 6 more embossing folders.
That puts me at 55 regular folders.
They are now where they belong....standing up in a shoebox with the others, and ready to be used.

I've now found three duplicates. My sister will reap the benefit of that.

Amalia, I have tried a couple of methods for indexing mine. When I get a new folder, I emboss a sheet of scrap cardstock with it, then trim it down to the folder size. When I only had a few, I punched a hole in one corner, and hung them up from a ring. That started to get unwieldy, so I stuck them all onto some cheap thin cardstock, and now have them in an A4 ring binder, sorted by either manufacturer- such as Tim Holtz- or by theme- Christmas/ all over/ floral/frames, etc.

It's easier to flip through now to see what I have, I can compare what I'm working with to see if it 'works', and I can see what size the finished piece will come out, and whether I will need to try & repeat the pattern across my cardstock.

Since I don't have that many, I keep mine in dividers by theme in a basket. It is easy to go to the particular type I want to use on a card and flip through the possibilities. Less work than making a sample of each, looking through that and then getting out the folder I need. I recently purged, so the process is even easier.

I have too many to count but have them filed by topic or theme. That helps.

I have about as many as you easily and only use a few of them. need to purge badly.

I counted, seems I have more than I realized; 72. Some I never use anymore, but most get used at least now and then. Of course, there are favorite go-to patterns that get used a lot. Embossed backgrounds make such a quick and easy "wow" on cards!

Here's the new wire bin I found at Wal-Mart. I was due for new storage!
Embossing folders are to the left and framelits to the right.

I bought that wire bin a few weeks ago because I loved the color, love the wire, and it was cheap! I think $1.98! I didn't even know what to use it for. This was perfect!

Dear Allistamps,
Don't you just love it when you find storage that is just right? My choice is baskets. That's why when I found these below that were straight sided and just the right size for my dies and stencils, which I store in the new SU boxes and for my embossing folders that I just store as is, behind separaters by themes. On top of that, Murphy was not watching, as the 3 of them fit perfectly (I mean perfectly) on my shelf.

At a rough count, I have about 65 A2, a couple 5x7, maybe a dozen border ones, and maybe a dozen of the small ones. I have samples of each embossed on a 1/4 sheet of cardstock with a ring through one corner as shazsilverwolf described. As I went through to count them, I looked with an eye to maybe purge some, but I was still seeing the merit of keeping each of them, for use "sometime." I don't buy them nearly as often as I used to. When I first started with my Cuttlebug, I would buy a new folder as often as I could get to Joann's with a coupon. I just couldn't wait for them to come out with new designs. Now, because I don't use them real often, I am more choosy when I do buy them. Since looking through them, I have some ideas for using the ones I just reacquainted myself with.

I love shopping from my own stash. I always find something "forgotten" when I do a good reorganizing!

I am going to guess about 200 all told. I am not counting the ones I duplicated so gave away.

I emboss them, punch a corner hole and keep them on a ring. i write the name and mfg on them. I have 4 ring bundles by topic. I like to handle them. Some emboss deeper than others. Sometimes I might want to use pieces of more than one design. They are also in the storage box (plastic shoe box) by topic. Since I keep my big shot on my work table it is fast to do.

I prefer 5 x 7s for BG ones for the size flexibility-A2. A6, A7.

What a good idea to store dies in the SU boxes! I'm going to do that if they still sell the empty boxes! Thanks!

I have 30 full sized folders. I do have my favorites, Cuttlebug Swiss dots and and one from their Decorative Tiles set, also Elizabeth Crafts has a leafy vine folder I use a lot.

Embossing folders are easy to add to your stash because they are so small and easy to store! However, I have not bought any lately, but like those ones that have the striking very deep impressions (can't remember who sells them.)
