Default Help- Need Storage Solution for Punches

I have a large collection of punches and am looking for a better storage solution. I have my larger punches on towel rods...but my smaller punches wont fit there- they are just in boxes.

Does anyone have a storage solution for these small punches that would display them so they are easy to find.

Take note,,,my craft room is VERY VERY SMALL...a wall option would be best if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks, Shelley

I have mine in a wire bin with wire drawers

Why not put a shoe rack on the door? They usually have 20 spots and you can see the stamps. Alot of the over the door shoe racks have clear pockets

Hi Shelley,

I have my punches on rods too (from Ikea). Ikea also sells both deep and shallow baskets that hang from the rods. This is where I store my smaller punches. HTH!

Default Mine too!

Love the IKEA rods and baskets! They work really well. Remember to get the kitchen rods. The bathroom rods hang further from the wall so they don't work well. They are made by Bygel I think and only $1.99 per 2 foot rod or $3.99 for a 4 foot rod. Happy shopping!!

I got the idea for my hanging pot rack from this site. You can see a picture of how her's are stored on it. My rack is different than hers, but does the same thing as hers does. Mel Stampz: Punch Storage & misc. Craft Room Organization

I love my IKEA racks and baskets. Very sturdy but economical too.

Do you have a shelf that you can hang a white wire basket that hangs over the shelf ? I have two of those in my laundry room.

I hang my larger punches too, but with my smaller ones, I have a plastic tool box that would normally be used for storing nuts and bolts, screws etc. It has plastic compartments inside which can be moved around, so my really small ones have really small compartments and the bigger ones, have bigger compartments (duh). lol. I just lock it up when I want to move it and carry it around, although when it is full, it is quite heavy. The tool box would not have cost more than $10 and is quite large. I fit about 40 punches into it.

After I unmounted all of my wooden stamps I kept the clamshell cases to store all kinds of things. My smallest punches are in a clamshell that sits on a shelf (upended like a book) near my other punches. That way I can see all of them at once without digging through a basket or whatever - I'm too impatient for that! I've attached a pic for you visual types...

This is a really outdated picture sorry. I have not posted anything in my Gallery forever! I am to busy updating websites, blogs, facebook, twitter and have neglected my poor Gallery badly. Anyway hope this gives you a good view of the bygel racks from Ikea. I love them and they still work great for the new style of Punches.

HTH

I used to store them in Iris carts and wire baskets but didn't use them as much since I couldn't SEE them!

I've been using a clear plastic shoe holder for about 2 years now and love it! It's over the door and was less than $10 at Target, Walmart, etc.

Here is a picture of it: Punch Holder

I bought a shoe organizer at Wal-Mart that hangs over the doors. Perfect. I'll post a picture when I get home from work.

My husband made me a rack with dowels that I hang my punches and ribbon on. I love it!

Default Punch Storage

I think I have the best storage for punches. I found picture racks at Ikea that work perfectly. They come in three different sizes. I have attached a pic. However, I will have better pics posted on my blog tomorrow. stampingala.com Thanks, Julie

Default punch storage

This is an awesome way to store your punches. I bought these at Ikea. They are 45" long each. You can put a double row of punches on each rack. I have them group in circles, scallops, borders, etc. Check them out on my blog....I can't get an image to upload here. STAMPIN GALA

That is a fabulous stamp room arrangement for a normal size room. So many stamp room ideas are for very large rec. rooms
TFS
Someday I would love to have a dedicated room for my stamping and hobbies , so I am collecting ideas

I also have limited storage space for my paper crafts. My husband recently made me this rack that screws onto the side of a storage cabinet in my art room. Its basically shallow a wooden box with wooden dowels. I have mostly Stampin Up old style punches, but it will also hold the new ones. I have been so happy to have them out of drawers and out where I can see them.
